I'd love to hear your thoughtsin a video on Room 1015's Wavechild, Sonic Flower, and Cherry Punk. Ella K's Musc K, Jusbox's Carioca Heart, Giardini di Toscana's Blue Indaco, Bora Bora, and Celeste. Thank you!
Would you consider explaining some perfumery terms and/or ingredients? For example, What is an aldehyde? what does it smell like? Do all aldehydes smell the same? What is its function? If a perfume note is animalic, does that mean it smell like leather? Does that category include musk, civet? No one describes perfume elements like you do!
I agree. The Ginger one @ Christmas time. It is addicting BUT that is a cozy at home scent for me; while reading, at the campfire. I was annoyed you could not buy the travel size, which was Only available in a set
Thank you for your ever honest, transparent reviews, Josephine. No one does it as professionally and elegantly as you! Also, please do review Sirène by FDB and Frédéric Malle's new fragrance with Acne Studios!
I love it when you recommend alternatives to fragrances you think dont quite hit the mark! Would you ever consider doing a series where viewers send in perfumes they need alternatives to that you can recommend step ups for?
I can’t thank you enough for my favorite fragrance on my husband, Hermes Eau de Citron. The muddled lime and smoky tea is so addictive and I’m so excited for our weather to finally warm up and smell this on him again ❤
Maison Crivelli is such a ride! I love Hibiscus Mahajad and Iris Malikhan. But I will say that IM was not a live at first due to the earthy rooty opening, but somehow I kept coming back to the tester. I’m in love with it now and the dry down is amazing. I’m still trying to get a sample of Oud Maracuja and Oud Stallion so I’ll add Tubereuse Astral to my list
I once had a 5 ml sample of Oud Maracuja...It was extremely strong and overpowering. One small sprayer hovered for hours in my room. It rembered me of someone using an overdose of hairspray in a room filled with cigarette smoke.
Blue Madeline sounds like perfection!! Blind buy worthy for sure. Same with the new Chloe. The Nuit d'Egypte is the only Chloe Nomade flanker I do not own.
Thank you! I needed a catch up. I am fascinated by Akro, the Atelier des Or and the Ormonde Jayne fragrances. I have found Maison Crevelli really has to be tested. It varies so much from skin to skin.
We got a Mon Dieu! 😁 I love seeing the excitement you have for certain fragrances 🥰. My interest is certainly peaked for tuberose scent and the milky gourmand. Thanks for another awesome video. Your blouse is awesome, too.
I was kind of looking forward to hearing your comments about paasiflora. As I feel the same that it’s just a summer version of GC! And you said the same thing!! I was like yes! Someone reads my mind😊❤
Hi Josephine, I just blind bought Infiniment Coty Paris Encore Une Fois because I was unable to get a sample here in the US, but I trust your judgment so much that I just had to try it regardless!!!!! The notes aren't too crazy, so I'm excited to see what all the fuss is about. My first niche fragrance was Giardini Di Toscana Bianco Latte, but I just gave it away because it became too simplistic for me, so I'm excited to try a new vanilla!!!
As a newbie to fragrance I would love to see a video on a good starter set of samples to buy to have variety in all categories & find what appeals to me. Also a good site to explore options. ❤ your work!
I have tested the Blue Madeleine and I don’t really get much gourmand. It u fortunately was just a meh for me. 😔I did find it extremely similar to Elie Saab’s L’Eau Couture. It has the same vibe however L’Eau Couture is more floral not intended to be a gourmand. I think it’s more attractive and feminine. A good one to try.
Dear Josephine, what would you recommend to a person who lost smell and taste due to sickness? I used to be a fragrance lover but today I don't smell anything. I only recall the fragrances from the memory, how I remember their smell in my mind but whatever I put on me, it is only for the people around me to smell because I don't smell absolutely anything. I am not sure if I ever will get any new fragrance, only would have to rely on the written components and maybe opinions of people like you. Unfortunately without possibility to try it myself, that could end up with a risk of getting something I wouldn't like in a normal situation. And also people don't tell anything in case of bad smell, they somehow pretend that everything is normal so I don't get any real feedback. If I don't smell myself it is hard to tell how others perceive me. I guess that over time I will be obligated to stick with the most popular classics that for sure will not offend anyone and rely on their popularity in the general public in order not to step aside with the fragrance.
You have different essential oils like citrus mint, ho wood, géranium, Ylang Ylang,... You choose several and you play with them to recognize. After you can choose solinotes fragrances rose, ginger, tubereuse, vanilla, osmanthus... Woody notes too and encenses notes. Don't stress you you play with Scents like a game but every day to train your nose.. Good Luke and pleasure 😊🎉
Hi ; Do you think Tubéreuse astrale is more for women or more for men ? I (male) ordered a 5ml sample from Maison Crivelli and are still waiting for it. Hope it is arriving this week. Because I generally like most perfumes made by Quentin Bisch, I ordered it as a blind buy. I once ordered a sample from "Oud Maracuja" from Maison Crivelli, but I did not like it. It was extremely strong and very overpowering. So I gave it away
I have a few questions for you if you dont mind. For another video, maybe. But i am curious about the longevity of notes in a fragrance depending on factors such as age of the bottle, damaged stoppers, and poor sealage. I ask this because i had raised my different impressions of "By The Fireplace". Between a sample and the purse size spray. With the sample i gor a very reminiscent scent of the bushfires and the ocean town that i was trapped in with my family at Christmas on the east coast of Australia a few years ago. It had depth complexity and longevity. The 1.5ml lingered with positivity. I caught whispers of it on a blazer days later. Sadly, when i upsized, i felt like i was chasing the notes that i found addictive to me and the longevity was lacking. All i could smell was the hint of a toasted marshmellow, i initially thought that the reseller had passed me off a dupe. So im curious as to whether some notes lingered, and the possibilty of factors impacting on them PS: I love your channel. Thank you so much for your integrity is a breath of fresh air.
I've had this happen also, sample a brilliant perfume. Purchase a full size & end up with a weaker version. The pessimist in me assumes it's a selling tactic.
Hi! There’s a misconception that the juice in samples is different than in full size bottles. This is completely false. That said reformulations can occur due to restriction of use of some ingredients. If the brand hasn’t phased out the samples and product in sync there can be a discrepancy. Hope this helps!
I really adore the way you describe perfume! your sincerity and your thrill, it´s really fantastic. I´m looking fwd to testing Tuberose Astrale and Blue Madeleine (Atelier des Ors bottles are out of this world...
I get a lot of iris in The Heart of Leo. 😊 I think it is definitely there. They just didn’t add it in the description. I blind bought it and the first thing I said is that it is lipsticky iris.
You are just so very wonderful. Quickly up to my favourite perfume recommendations and review as you spoke I went on a search of the ones I thought I would like. Great job.
For me Parfums de Marly Perseus is a combo of Terre de Hermes with an ending of Parfums de Marly Percival. It is a great scent, but I already own the other two.
Just discovered this youtube channel and think its great 😊 but wondering have you ever found a perfume similar to the (unfortunately discontinued) Stella by Stella McCartney?
I need advice 🙏 - I really love a perfume from a 1,5 ml spray tester, however the bottle tester (3/4 full) in the store smells different and I don't like it. Should I commit to a bottle then hoping the bottle tester had gone bad? 🤷♀ Thank you! 💜
Hello Josephine, I absolutely love to watch your videos 🤩 and I love your French pronunciation, I just adore it 😀 and also I learned so much about fragrances I didn't know before, so thank you and keep going 🙂 greetings from Slovakia. Kate
Unrelated to this video, are they any fragrances for women with ebony wood that you would recommend? I have Cavalli Nero Assoluto and love the combination of ebony and vanilla. Now I'm interested in more.
I have quite a few Ormonde Jayne fragrances and would have added Vanille des Afriques but the brand's move to only do 88ml bottles (rather than their previous 50 and 120), and seemingly hiking the prices to that of their old 120ml bottles (this new fragrance is £295) has priced me out of their market. My next purchase is likey to be an Ojar... which would you recommend between Wood Whisper and Halwa Kiss?
I understand. It’s worth noting that this perfume is a Parfum concentration so more oil so more expensive. For Ojar the two fragrances couldn’t be more different: Halwa kiss is a super sweet honey pistachio whilst wood whisper is a creamy sweet sandalwood
Would you say Passiflora has similar vibes to Vanuatu by Sora Dora? That was for me a softer version of Gris Cajrnel. And then freshened up even more with Ichnusa by Profumum Roma. But all of these are heavy on fig
Can you please do aldehyde fragrance recommendations? I am obsessed with Chanel no 5 Eau Premiere and Chance Eau Fraiche EDP and I am quite sure it is because of the aldehydes so I would love your recommendations for something else!
Thank you for your passionate reviews 🌸🌸🌸. What sort of affordable perfume would you recommend to get almost the smell of ( with love from Positano ) ?
Additionally can someone explain Phlur Father Figure to me? I sprayed it on me and all I got was some midly powdered dust water that seemed as though at some point in its distant past it had had a vague and transient consideration for half of a fig. But everyone else loves it. Am I missing something? Perhaps the sample developed a fault?

interesting ones. The joe malone small bottles look like drug store bottles but i can relate to the antique market thing too. I got a CK eternity aftershave original for a really cheap price at a antique market at a hill station. Blue Madeleine bottle is just gorge but the milk note scares me. is it prominent, making it lactonic? And yes why the dudu was talking to u?? 😆
So funny, I am testing “Tubereuse Astrale” today for the first time :) to smell it while i am listening how you describe it is a different level :) thank you :)
Nui’t L’Egypt is so good. I tried it last week 😍 I got so curious about Passiflora and Tubereuse Astrale. OMG!!! I love tuberose. 😅 Before I forget, your blouse is so pretty and the video is great as always! 💜
Love your videos! I understand that your audience is mostly female and you know more about feminine scents/fragrances, but could you make a top 10 summer fragrances for men?
Honestly, I've bee so excited for the release of Blue Madeleine, but I'm having trouble deciding if I should even bother ordering a sample (it's expensive shipping things to my country). I've heard from various people that the performance is terrible, so I'm worried about wasting so much money in something that's not gonna last or project 😢
For me it's about 4-5 hours on skin. But I enjoy it and after testing for a day ordered the full bottle 😅 I would suggest testing first but it is a general rule I have made for myself after a few duds and "just ok" purchases.
Fragrance is subjective, that aside I can share my experience. I bought the discovery set, Blue Madeleine being the one I was most interested in. I hated it. I think it opens with a screechy sharp dill, or tea note. The drydown is slightly sweet and spicy. Probably had a bad batch or it's a complex weird scent and my nose is not refined enough. Either way I was ready to buy the 230€ bottle and saved myself that money. My advice: try to find a decant or sample. Good luck!
Tu me conseilles lequel ?
Hi just found your channel and subscribed. Can you help me. My signature scent was Geminesse by Max Factor. So sad it discontinued. Can you recommend its nearest profile. I note Prism are passing off a very poor replica in its name!!!! Thank you Catherine
As a floral fragrances kind of person I absolutely adore the Tubereuse by Maison Crivelli….and as a beast mode fragrances appreciator this check all the boxes for me…I was so curious to hear your review on it! For me it’s a 8,5/10…even 9/10….it’s s true gem! The only reason I don’t give a ten it’s because in the dry down sometimes I catch a weird note…maybe a little synthetic or animalic….maybe leathery….and I am not fond of it…..but still, great scent for me!
Let me know which new fragrances you’d like me to review in the next monthly review 😊
Versace Crystal noir parfum is available at Harrods and the bright crystal parfum 😊
I'd love to hear your thoughtsin a video on Room 1015's Wavechild, Sonic Flower, and Cherry Punk. Ella K's Musc K, Jusbox's Carioca Heart, Giardini di Toscana's Blue Indaco, Bora Bora, and Celeste. Thank you!
Can you do a review on Thaneem perfumes please. If you have please link it. It is still relatively affordable where I live.
Could you please do a review on the new Armani Aqua di Gioia Intense and L'Interdit Tubéreuse Noire by Givenchy?
Would you consider explaining some perfumery terms and/or ingredients? For example, What is an aldehyde? what does it smell like? Do all aldehydes smell the same? What is its function?
If a perfume note is animalic, does that mean it smell like leather? Does that category include musk, civet?

I'm OVER limited edition collections. Feels like companies are playing on FOMO. Why can't Jo Malone just have it as a regular line? PASS.

I wish the nomade d Egypte had more longevity 😊it’s beautiful 😍
It really is 😩
You forgot to post your top!!
On to the video.

Except if you're French or Italian or numerous other languages. Then it's not pronounced that way.
