The shoulder injury his sophomore year at UW just ruined him. He was so good, and then he just never had the same arm after that. He was brutal to watch his senior year.

i will always have a soft spot in my heart for Ricky Towns. He was the ultimate team guy, he relentlessly recruited other high school kids to USC, even though they also recruited Sam and Sam was lookin good in the spring.
It's funny, other recruiting services have Sam Darnold higher than Ricky Town in the ranking. By getting Darnold, USC dropped David Sills (who wound up playing WR at WVU). That 24/7 ranked Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow so low on that list. Noticed in that California have so many top rated QBs, Ricky Town, Jake Browning, Sam Darnold, Blake Barnett, Brady White, Travis Jonsen, Sheriron Jones, and Josh Rosen. All those guys are rated higher than Lamar & Burrow! Go figures!
To be fair, Burrow developed an insane amount in his time. Dude isn’t physically dominant, but he’s smart and is a sponge for knowledge. Just look at his stats only one year prior to his senior year.

Brandon wimbush sadly just wasn't QB material, but he would've been an incredible RB or slot receiver. Watching him live he was amazing runner. Speed and could juke guys out of their shoes.

It's really not fair to say that Francois wasn't good after his injury. It had a lot more to do with atrocious OL play and all the coaching mayhem at FSU. Francois will always go down as a martyr to FSU fans. Guy was tough as nails and was dealt a pretty shitty hand after the orange bowl season.
The story of Ricky Towns is tragic. Imagine being a top 10 ranked high school prospect, get a scholarship to one of the most notable football programs in the country, get your spot taken from someone who is lower ranked, transfer, ride the bench, transfer again to a lower college, and your football career is over. And the cherry-on-top, you only have 1 official pass completion from all three colleges combined.
