    The tip rod is deployed first while the boat is in gear going with the current until the lead hits bottom, then the boat is turned and slack taken up? The educational vids are great!

      You got it! Once the lead hits bottom we generally retrieve it a couple hundred feet or so and then will go back to bottom again to take a little more belly out of the line. Once that’s done we’lll reel it up about 50 to 100 feet off the bottom and fish it in that range
