    Glad you are enjoying the A7CR. I have the mini A7R5, the a6700 with a Small Rig bottom plate. It has to be one of the best aps-c cameras in existence. It really is fun and versatile, a major step up from the a6600. I will be picking up the A7CR next year, after the holidays are over. BTW, I'm retired now so I shoot for fun. I was a journalist in the USAF, working on a few base newspapers that include taking photos. Great fun. Now it's for pure pleasure.

    This was the video I was waiting for! I was really interested in how you felt about the camera. Great video! And I didn’t know about the silver mount plate. Looks so good on the camera! Definitely grabbing one!

    This with the Sony 40mm 2.5 would be dope AF

    Thank you for the video. I have also purchased the A7CR to use alone and along side my A7RV and A1. Really be interested in what lenses you use with it. I own the 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 65mm, and 90mm Sigma I-series lenses with it and the GM lenses on my A7RV so that provides a huge amount of flexibility and great image quality. Curious if you use a flash with it at all and if so which one. I’ve subscribed so let’s get that lens video out. 😊

      All my UA-cam videos have been filmed with the Sony A7RV this year. I would say the video quality is great.ZVE1 and that sensor is better in low light if that’s what you are looking for.

  • @GregV8
    @GregV8 7 місяців тому +1

    With the assumption that the sensor is the same as in the M11, it would be great to see a low-light test comparing the two.

    I really like your videos. I have 2x A7iv for wedding work. Im considering this or the A7Cii for personal stuff. Im having a hard time understanding your conclusion that the camera is fun to use. Is there anything else different aside from the smaller size?

    • @ABarrera
      @ABarrera  7 місяців тому +2

      For me a fun camera is a camera I am inspired to take everywhere. The combination of the size + performance and the fact that everything just works makes me want to take it everywhere. I am also a sucker for a silver camera and this also checks that box 🤣

      Another fun camera is the ZV-E10. It is SMALL. It is light. It's a blast to use. It turns a photographer into a child and the camera into a toy. I also have the a6700, same feeling. Light and fun to use. The A7CR being slightly bigger than the a6700 means it will retain the fun factor. Also, the small body, no hump in the middle that is still popular for whatever reason, gives you the feel of cameras of yesteryear when there were no SLRs.

      If you shoot with flash, the a7cii has a max sync of 1/160 with flash, the a7cR doesn’t have a max

    I have this camera, and for me the touch focus you describe in place of the joystick is not usable when using the viewfinder-it’s impractical. Instead, I press the 4-way jog wheel to move the focus point. It’s really no less convenient than a joystick. Thanks.

    • @martinpickard5818
      @martinpickard5818 5 місяців тому

      Was hoping you could use the wheel for moving the focus point.Does it work well? It could make my mind up on buying this camera.Thanks.

      @@martinpickard5818Yes, it works well, however it takes some getting used to if you’ve been using the joystick for a long time.

    With a 40/2.5 G this is my Leica Q with 60mp and normal lens. I understand Leica with be offering a 40-50mm Q but the a7cr is so fun, I’ll skip the Leica. Sold my silver Q also. I use it with the 12-24 and 50/1.2 , the grip balances it better, not perfect but easy to adapt to.

    Keeping in mind your love for the Leica Q3 how would you rate the optics of this Sony A7cR with the Leica Q3? I own the A7c already and bought the Q3 thinking the optics were better (Leica). What is your opinion. With a comparable lens on the Sony! (28mm f2.8 or less)

    Leica is not using the Sony sensor. It's probably panasonic. The AF system is the same.... so is probably made the same (or at least why would you build panasonic's UI and spend the time to make it work on a Sony).

    • @ABarrera
      @ABarrera  7 місяців тому +1

      The A7Cii/IV will be a stop or so better. But with the added resolution and denoise AI I don’t think it makes a big difference.

    Two reasons I would never buy this.
    One card slot.
    And the big one, that damn side hinged pull out flippy, flappy, take forever, conspicuous rear screen.
