Good work again Tim! Love the Scandi Bodies with Rio Versitips b/c they'reall the same grain weight. The trick is figuring the grain weight if you're doing T 'n Go casts. I have 3 of them which pair well with the OPST tips as well, like you said.
The scandi body is my favorite line on my 11' 4 wt micro-spey. I use it in a grain weight neae the top of the grain window for my rod 325 grains. It rocks. When I csst skagit I use s 275 gr or 300 gr Commando head. So my "scandi" line outweoghs my skagit and delivers both small and medium flies well. The scsndi body is an exceptional line!
Thanks for the video Tim! I’ve been playing around with this line on my 13’ 6/7wt Bruce and Walker. I don’t have it nailed down yet but I’ll continue when the weather here in Canada gets warmer, for now I’ll be using my Skagit setup. Oh merry Christmas Timmer and Charlie.
I also really like the scandi body. Super versatile and it almost casts itself. I hadn’t paid attention to how the front taper digs in a little better than a skagit as it has a thinner diameter. Great observation. Makes me like this system even more!
I think the purpose of the Scandi body is to yes: be versatile. You can throw 10ft of T14, but it’s really meant to be used with the 15ft replacement tips and medium/small flies
@@MrGreegor69 just depends on the length of rod at the end of the day. For 13ft + rods your supposed to use the 15ft replacement tips, for sub 13 the 10s. The body between both the SVT and SSVT is the same.
@@fishingbcwithcj it’s nothing to do with the length of the rod. The ssvt is designed for shorter rods & comes with the 10ft tips. The svt comes with the 15ft tips.
@@MrGreegor69 what you just said made zero sense. " it's nothing to do with the length of the rod." proceeds to say that the ssvt is designed for shorter rods
@@fishingbcwithcj read very carefully what I’ve written please. You are talking about 2 different lines. The “ssvt” is sold with 10ft tips & is designed for rods of 13ft & below. The “Svt” is sold with 15ft tips. I can’t make this any more clearer to you.
I don’t know maybe I’m missing something here why have a short Scandi head to throw a sink tip when you can just use a Skagit isn’t that the purpose of Skagit ? Keep those laser casts going they look good and Thanks for the video.
Have not tried that one yet. The Gaeforce Equalizer shooting head, it’s about 38 feet is my favorite line in that category… A tad on the long side for a Scandi head but so fun to cast and fish!
Hi Tim, thanks for the vid's. Very helpful. So, on my 11ft 3wt Sage, a lovely rod btw, I find a 18 ft 325 grain skaggit head and 12 ft of T8 and a light fly it really lasers out. Using your idea in the vid, plus my own experience of improved casting leading to preferring a longer line, I would buy the Rio Scandi short body 370 grain, chop 10 feet off, loop it and fish my 12ft of T8. Does that sound about right? As I read the comments, maybe the next weight down 320 grain might be better for the touch and go casts - bearing in mind that I haven't quite sorted that cast yet, but hopeful next step on the journey. Thanks in advance...Graeme

Nice looking rod you are fishing with! Glad you are out there shooting lasers! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks man!

Excellent video as usual, but i cant understand why you guys never wear glasses when casting/fishing. Happy new year from the banks of the Tweed.

It’s designed to fish 10ft tips.
This is the SSVT & has shorter tips than the standard versi tip.

You don't have the F/I, I/3, S2, S4 and S6 versions of the Scandi Body? Might be specific for the scandinavian market.

Actuallly, I kind of agree… this is a nice floater though and Skagit isn’t always nessecary
Have you tried the Rio Elite Scandi Launch head? 36 ft. Like to know how you did. Thanks. On the Rogue.

No! Rio Scandi body is already chopped. It requires a tip! Think of it as a Skagit head. Don’t chop!
What do you know a bout wolf shooting heads and Spey lines I used to have a line by that company triangle taper I loved years and years ago ?
They are good. Wullf Ambush and triangle taper are great lines. Some videos by Joe of Reds fly Shop UA-cam channel featuring them
I wonder why your videos are always just casts. Where's the fish? / Интересно, почему твои видео - всегда только забросы. А где рыба? 🙂
