As a fan of both Val and CS esports, NOTHING compares to Cologne and Kato, especially not Champs. CS is just the greatest esport because it's simple to understand from a viewing perspective yet the hype the crowd brings makes you FEEL how insane or important things are. The only esports event I've been to (because I live in the middle of fucking America) was Cologne 2022 (while abroad in France for study, I went to Germany for the weekend) and it was the greatest experience of my life, even if my favorite team failed to make it to the arena. CS esports are special. Edit: Also, that bit at the end is how I've always felt with CS - I don't enjoy playing it because of the high barrier to entry with utility, but I've always liked watching it. I like playing Val more because of the lower barrier to entry, and I can play it with my friends who understand the names of callouts and how the maps play and everything.
wow, only event you went to is the one with THE best final, jackpot. (imo 2022 faze navi is still better, SUPER RARE that we get a bo5 where it went all 5 maps and it worked so well, the clutches, the gamechanging, round defining plays.)

That was hilarious, especially considering i'm pretty sure they had no way of knowing for certain that the site was now empty. like yeah sure they just got 3 kills so safe bet it was but he still ran straight out into the middle of the site with hand off mouse hahahaha
I'm new to CS, so after I watched this tournament, I was very shocked that other tournaments like "Blast" was behind closed doors. "Sports" is special because of the live crowd. Seems like Cologne and similar, holds esports up on their backs.
Completely irrelevant but vouching for IBP PCs by calling it the official PCs of VCT when pros are complaining about how shit the hardware (including the PCs which is apparently just medium spec PCs iirc) is might be the funniest thing about this video
Playing the game does indeed feel bad compared to watching it. For me, that seems wildly concerning. Thats not even taking into account a complete lack of content. Even if an operation comes out before this year is up, I think we might be 2 years away from something genuinely fresh, like dangerzone was. I was watching dima play csgo supremacy mod and the shooting looks incredibly crispy. Like my brain had been stuck in slow-mo playing cs2 with its weird sub-tick hit reg/spray/movement.
I wish SAW could officially be the dark horse in tier 1 tournaments now. Their win against FaZe was one of the best shocking moments. The finals were insane as well, even though I was cheering for NaVi.
I havent played CS for a year (since my laptop broke in August 2023) and I have only watched CS2 and its really fun to watch and looks great it makes me wanna play but then all my friends who still play just tell me to keep watching it cus thats when its good
Haven‘t booted up CS2 in months now but still keep up with the scene and watch every S-tier event. Watching the pros play versus playing a pug is like two completely different games.

Watching CS2 is definitely even more enjoyable imo. It just looks cleaner and I think the new smokes (plus being able to clear them with nades) is the best addition since the molotov (which people hated at first). It just adds so much more depth to the game.
I've never been a CS player other than playing on Xbox in 04. We were Halo players back then and didn't know any better. Regardless, I've been an avid spectator for 15 years, which is crazy to say for someone who doesn't even play the game. I love everything about CS, however I can tell that something is missing in CS2. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but it seems like the difference in skill gap has decreased. Anyways, all this to say I still love watching. No other esport comes close to CS, more over, no other esport can pull me into the story lines and gameplay like CS (not even Halo which I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I still play) Yeah I know, flame me all you want. It seems like every major just keeps getting better and better, and I'm here for it.
Just a heads up reasons for Valo playing in a smaller stage: CS is single elim which means more matches can be played in the bigger arena across more days while Valo is double elim meaning more matches and more time the arena has to be booked so only semi-s and finals are in a arena for Valo, unlike CS where the majority of the tournament is in the arena because same amount of days but more matches. But anyway yeah this is a CS vid and yes better crowds and atmosphere by far, until Valo gets its footing in the eSport world, but still CS is CS hard to beat.
