In this tutorial, let us see How to Use SUMIFS with OR Logic in Excel
Generally, in sumifs function, you need to mention the multiple criteria and it will sum only those cells which meet those criteria. Because it works with AND logic, so it checks all the criteria to meet.

But what if, if you want to sum those cells using OR logic matching multiple criteria at the same time.
Let us see this with an example now.
This data is having the Quantities by each fruit and day wise like this.
If I want to sum the quantities of Apple fruit, I enter the formula In cell F5 like this, =SUMIFS($C$5:$C$19,$B$5:$B$19,"Apple")
And similarly for Mangoes in cell F6 like this, =SUMIFS($C$5:$C$19,$B$5:$B$19,"Mango")
In cell F7, if I want to sumifs both the quantities of Apple and Mango,
If you go with the normal method, you have to apply SUMIF twice to get the total or I should be adding both the above results.
But you can get this result by using the OR logic in the SUMIF function like this, I enter formula as =SUM(SUMIFS(C5:C19,B5:B19,{"Apple","Mango"})) and press enter to see the result as 646 exactly the sum of above two cells.
Here we have used the array concept to sum two different criteria and that’s the reason we have used the sum function as well.
