Love watching your videos from Arkansas. Quick prep tip. Don't use the blade of your knife to scrap veggies in your skillets. This will quickly dull your knife! Happy cooking!
We stopped buying sour cream when the cost went up 30 cents higher, we substituted cream cheese for a while but now that has gone up also. We halve all our meats and put in some cooked lentils I keep in small bags in the freezer. I bought tomato paste instead of sauce; two tablespoons of the paste add water. Great video. Money is getting really tight and there is not very much money left over for groceries, doing the best I can. We are only two grown adults. I don't know how people with children are managing.
All of these meals looked Absolutely Delicious!!😋😋 The cookies looked Tasty as well!! Really Enjoy your content!! Wishing you much Continued Success and Blessings!🥰🙏🥰
I just found your channel. I love how realistic and practical your info is. New subbie. Please more recipes for us busy moms who like eating and cooking at home
Where do you get that ground beef in the bag? I've seen FrugalFit Mom use it too! It always looks good!!! Loved this video!!! As always!!!!😊 also.... i need one of those cookies please!!!!!!
She buys from a local farmer and I do the same. Mine comes from Maize, Kansas. I usually purchase 1/4 of a cow at a time. It usually lasts us close to a year.
They all look great, but I have to query the "poor man" in the title. That first meal alone is about $12 counting hamburger, cream cheese, cheese and pasta. I grew up on poor man's meals and that wouldn't have been one of them! lol
Well, I believe I say to use sausage and that would cut down on the cost. I think the only cheese I use is cream cheese so for that meal the total would only be about $8.50. I just try to take recipes and cut down on the expensive items and replace them or give options of cheaper item and cheaper ways to make meals.
@@CookiesandBacon22 I’m in Canada and prices are ridiculous here. The sausage is the same. You used cream and cheddar cheeses in the first dish. Like I said, they all look great, but poor man? Nope. Still I’m not razzing on you at all; I enjoy the videos and meals.
I have sensitivities to soy and corn syrup so I can't find decent sausage anywhere in my town. It seems all of them have at least one of those ingredietns. I really miss it.
Do you have contact info so we can share recipes for you to try that are our favorite poor/budget/broke meals? I have a few thats my families favs y'all might like that I'd love to share with you
Spicy!? I don't know what she's talking about but peoples got different taste buds. Some people would say that black pepper is spicy😅 That chili looked mighty good.
I literally make this first meal every week. I just add green onion as well My husband loves it.😋😋😋

Use the back side of the knife's blade to scrape the veggies into the pot.

Fabulous meals on a budget
The hamburger helper type pasta sounds good but I would have seasoned the meat as it cooked and added a bit more afterwards too.

@@CookiesandBacon22 oh ok! Thank you
What kind of cake mix was that?
It was a unicorn cake mix, basically a strawberry one.
@@CookiesandBacon22 they looked really good I might make those or lemon ones.

Yes, but with one lb pasta, if you get 8 servings, that would be 1.50 per serving.
You could use just one half of the cream cheese, I think it would be fine.
Get the ingredients on sale helps too.

Can I ask where you get your ground beef from?
We get it from a local butcher. We usually buy 1/4 of a cow at a time.
I wish I lived near you cause I could use the hamburger meat.😢😢😢😢

They look delicious but not cheap in my opinion.
How could your children eat that chili? You nade it so so spicy.
It was a bit more than usual lol 😂
A little bit of sour cream will cool it down. 🫠
