- Sometimes in February I dream about summer. Not that I don't like winter- cause I really do. It's just that I miss the color green, the warm breezes, the ease of things. This road trip is one we like to do every year and it's about 800 miles round trip. Valdez is worth it though...

The landscapes of Alaska are pure beauty.
Who would believe that a person could spend two weeks in a state and it would get into your blood so bad that you watch all the UA-cam videos you can find about it...No other State has this affect... just Alaska! Man... I LOVE IT !!!

I am not from Alaska, Brooke, but I do have family there. I really miss the mountains and all the beautiful wild flowers, the little white ptarmigan (sp) hiding in the grasses in the fields and ALL the natural beauty of the landscape in general. No end to it and not enough time to take it all in. I am very thankful for the times I did get there. Memories forever, thank you, love you et yours, gigi.

Great. We live in the Hudson Valley, north of NYC and it's pretty nice here. Your trip reminded me of a little further north of us; the Catskills and Adirondacks. It's a beautiful world....

Valdez seems like it would be an easy town to write a song about. Not only because there are so many interesting things there to wrote about, also because Valdez rhymes with so many other words.

Fascinating! I am in the midst of mountains here in Pa. But those you show are truly majestic! Valdez looks very different than I imagined it would... which is a strange thing to say considering I have no idea what I would have imagined... if that makes sense. 🤪

Back in '73 my friend and I were working in a shop in Grand Rapids. We were going to save up enough money to buy a truck and camper and then go to Alaska to work on the pipeline. That was some high paid work back then , maybe $10 an hour or better. Well, God had other plans for my life, so I never made it up there. Nor did my friend, he became my brother-in-law. I would still like to visit Alaska, and after seeing this video I do believe Valdez would be the main destination. Those mountains are just awesome! The town is just about my size. How long does it take to drive there from Michigan? Again, thanks for sharing this beautiful video.

Hey, Brooke. Beautiful scenery - you ARE a lucky girl! We have a high mountain lake here that's quite popular with tourists, called "Redfish Lake." It's named after those sockey salmon, which we also call kokanee when they spend their whole lives in lakes and can't get out to the ocean. The few that show up at Redfish these days are ocean-run. I need me some roadtrip - been thinking of one in particular for a while. Maybe next week. Stay safe out there. Cheers.

Were you always adventurous as a young girl? Did you have woods close while growing up? I really enjoy watching your videos and sure wish there was someone doing this when I was young. At 9.10 you have a boat named 'kapai'. in NZ Maori language that means 'good' or 'nice'. Does that word mean the same in Alaskan? Also are red salmon red all the time or just when they are all hormoned up for spawning? Nice video. Do more like this. We get to see your home land.

So do you and your family live in Alaska? I am just curious. I have seen some beautiful scenery through out the state on Nat Geo. They do a fair job of shooting the scenes. Some day i would love to see it, but I am not too sure. So i just enjoy it though others eyes.
We split now between Alaska and Michigan.
2015 I drove fron Mulberry
FL to Fairbanks AK.THEN drove south. Took boat to Juneau spent a month
touring AK. Wonderful trip.
