Correct. Both the rich and poor are bailed out by the government, and the working class gets crushed in the middle.

As a Russian, who was born in late 80s in the USSR, in the period when the empire was collapsing and then growing up during one of the most dreadful periods of Russian history, I wish you guys never experience it. Cuz’ when your country is in chaos, people live in shit and crime thrives, nothing good can happen.
Unfortunately, at least in my opinion, I see that US right now is pretty similar to the USSR in 80s: stupidity of its leaders, external pressure, internal pressure, wars, crime, inequality and huge debt. In spite of all damage, lies and humiliation the US did to my country, I still wish we can be friends one day and you never go through what we went through some decades ago. This mindset of one side wins the other loses is not traditional Confucian values we have had for thousands of years. It is not a zero sum game that Western politicians always trumpet.

They bought out and blackmailed enough politicians to get their way. The Federal Reserve was never a government organization. It's been a private bank since its inception. The name is there to trick you into thinking it's the government.
It's what they've always done. First, they buy off the politicians of a city, then a county, then a state. Then they lather, rinse, repeat, until they control enough politicians to influence things on a nationwide scale.
Then, they continue to expand their influence until they control the majority of politics at virtually every level, and subtly rewrite the laws of the entire system until they are so entrenched that removing them becomes almost impossible without tearing everything down.
Our government was bought out years ago. Decades even. The robber barons of old never really went away. They just learned to be more subtle. They bought out the government, they bought out the media, they bought out education, medicine, energy, and even food production/agriculture.
They bought out everything you need to keep a nation running and it's people fed, clothed, and housed.
Nations rise and fall, but these robber barons just move onto the next rising superpower like a virus moving on to a new host, leaving only the real citizens to suffer as nation dies.
Make no mistake. The people who are truly responsible for the US' fall will escape virtually unscathed, save for the loss of a convenient attack dog in the US to cow smaller nations into compliance.

I came from China. I was sent to study at the United States back in late 1970's. Everything that I saw, everything that I experienced when I first reached USA was a total shock for me.
In my free time, I study and analyze history, especially the history of my own country, China. I study how the dynasties of China rose and fell, and the causes behind.
By the 1980's, I graduated from college and worked in the USA to gain experiences. I traveled everywhere, participated in all American events, from football matches to Independence Day military parade to going to night clubs / strip clubs and I volunteered in American NGO like the half-way-house operated by the Salvation Army and cooked at food banks for the homeless.
I wanted to know America, I made friends with many Americans, learned to understand how American thinks (and the American way of thoughts) and observed how the Americans spend their money, et cetera, et cetera
And I watched the boom and bust of the American economic cycles, see it for myself how the layoff workers from the Rust Belt ended up sleeping in their cars in Southern cities like Dallas, Texas, because they ran out of money trying to find a job to feed their families.
    I watched it all.
By the 1990's, the hayday of the American technological advancements (computers and internet and bio-medical), I came to the conclusion that America would not last past the 2020's. I did my calculation, based on the fall of many dynasties inside China. In the historical texts of China, they clearly explained how the society crumbled before the dynasty fell, and I saw the parallel in USA.
So I went back to China, and started my own business there. I am still running my businesses (many), of course, I have a bunch of co-workers working with me in managing everything.
Now, in my own comfort office in China, I watch America crumbles. No, I do not like to see America falls, after all, although I am a Chinese citizen, I do like America.
But what happened, happened, and nobody can reverse the trend. Nobody.

Then President Lincoln enacted emergency powers to bring them back thru war, but it was over. As most know, he was shot, came along (vice-president)Andrew Johnson very unstable government, still using the remains of Lincoln's power by shuffling the civil officer left and right was impeached(the trial failed) in 1868.

@@riverniletv7273 You need to revisit your history of the late 19th century. There was no such thing as the 'Anglo-Dutch' War - it was the Anglo-Boer War. The Netherlands had long been ousted by the British of what started out as the Cape Colony and would eventually become South Africa . The victims of the war and the world's first large-scale concentration camps were the Boers, particularly Boer women and children, not the Dutch. Although many Boers were of Dutch descent, so too were many of them of French, German, Flemish etc descent. Some of them even had Portuguese surnames. By outbreak of war in 1899, Afrikaans was a distinct language to Dutch (closer in many ways to Flemish, in fact) and the Boers even then hardly considered themselves as 'Dutch' by the British.

I think you are way off base. a lot of misinterpretation, which lead you to very inaccurate conclusions. And anyone predicting 20 or 40 years is ridiculously delusional and ignorant about current tech realities.
    - Economic output is in severe decline, contrary to what government numbers would have you believe. It's manufacturing sector, and other critical production areas are in severe decline. A deeper understanding of the economic realities clearly show that everything is not going well at all. Also no empire has maintained its status without it being at the top in Industrial production. During WW2 the US was an industrial superpower. As well as Germany and Japan, which is why they were big powers during that time. Today that title is currently held by China, while the US has outsourced all its manufacturing base and expertise to China. So no, economic output is not on the rise, quite the opposite.
    - While AI is an important factor, short of AGI, it won't be enough to reverse all downward trends combined. So in the short term the U.S. is in trouble.
    - The rest of the world is coming together to form a block that would knock all the pillars the U.S. empire now stands on. And this can happen very fast.
    - Military weakness like in Ukraine, Israel, Afghanistan, rips away all its abilities to extract resources (outside the books), and enforce its will on other countries for its own benefit.
    - Loss of maritime dominance as evidenced in the red sea.
There are so many other points, and I could go on but it would turn into an endless list of how many things you got wrong.

On the surface, US economic figures and numbers are still looking great, but if we look deeper especially if we compare them with China, they aren't looking great anymore. For example, the U.S. national debt is rising by $1 trillion about every 100 days while Chinese government debt is pretty low like 60% to GDP. Look at the Industrial output of China, they are equal to all G7, India and S. Korea combined. Look at their commercial ship building, they are 50% to 70% of the world. Look at their future technologies like solar, battery and EV(smart cars) production. They are completely dominating the market. Look at the rare earth extraction and processing which is the bolts and nuts of the hitech industrialization, they are dominanting. Look at the latest Leiden University rankings, Chinese universities are 16 of the top 25. Look at numbers of their STEM graduates
How about US ot the G6 countries, they are mostly finance and military industrial complex that are dominanting. The financial sector is mostly based on dollars and euro as the world reserve currency, but that also comes with the bad effect that things produced in these countries would never be cheap or affordable to the masses. So the re-industrialization in these countries is next to impossible.
Even with AI, US is only good at software aspect while China will implement AI in their industrial production and electronic devices. US future is very bad.

Unlike the western powers of the past (Romans, UK, Netherlands, etc.), China plays a long game; minor setbacks and time are insignificant in the context of their objectives.
most notably, China's expansion of relationships with other countries are economic, not militaristic; the Western European colonization was put in place by military action or the threat of military action, including the US forcing Japan to open itself up to trade by military action; and gaining colonies/territories by fabricating a war with a weakening Spain, taking various territories from Spain.
China just has to continue its' economic expansion and avoid a direct conflict with the US and NATO, and pacific powers. Just as the US and its' cold war allies were able to wait-out the Soviet Union by economic pressure, so too can China wait out the Western powers with increasing economic pressure.
I would not be surprised to see China raise prices on goods to the West, and selling US and other bonds, in conjunction with belt & road, BRICS and other activities; slowly but surely the slow economic pressure will continue create issues within Europe and North America, which may force them to retaliate militarily as a last gasp of a dying empire.
Western Europe will also have to contend with the results of its' stupidity allowing islamic invasions that will be difficult to counter, respond and deal with effectively without significant loss of life.
The collective west is self-destructing of its' own volition, greed and stupidity. The enemies of the West just have to be patient. "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." - Napoleon Bonaparte

It could be argued that the Islamic world """invaded""" Europe, but we should not forget that Europe invaded them first in turn; they turned formerly decent countries into sites of hell-on-earth, from Libya, to Gaza, to Iraq, to Afghanistan....
They did the same across Africa, too. And Latin America. They're trying to do the same (again) to the rest of Eurasia (Russia, China, ASEAN, India, eastern Europe and the Caucasus). These empires destroy, they extract all wealth and talent, and deprive those outside their cores of all human dignity- and then they wonder why the masses flock to their borders, while they bomb, coup, loot, and destabilize their homelands.
Before NATO destroyed Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan- where were the """Islamic invasions?""" There was Muslim immigration, yes, but once again you simply need to look at the history to understand where this all came about- for instance, French apartheid and colonialism in Algeria, led to Algerian immigration... British destabilization and plunder of south Asia, led to Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi immigration... etc... it also helped, that the western nations had exported much of their historical population growth- to the Americas and Australia- where they engaged in actual "population replacements," genociding the natives.
They complain about east European immigration too, you know. About Ukranians, Russians, even Poles... well, when did this all begin? If the west had not encouraged "shock therapy," if they had not gleefully poured fuel on the fire as the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact dissolved, if they did not opportunistically carve up the Soviet Union proper, Yugoslavia, etc... if they had not stirred up ethnic divisions and ultranationalism, and encouraged oligarchs and organized crime to assist western capital in plundering the post-Soviet sphere- would this immigration have been anywhere near comparable to what has occurred today?
Go back 50-60~ years or so, and look up how the middle east/North Africa was. What a tragedy struck the Islamic world! Iran was once a democracy, then the Brits+CIA struck and overthrew it to replace it with a literal monarch. Even in countries like Saudi Arabia (and before then if you go back just a bit further- Hashemite Arabia) you can find pictures of modernization, so-called "westernization" (not actually exclusive to western culture- rather, just the development of culture, progress, past a formerly feudal, superstitious order prior). You can look up a video of Nasser, then-leader of Egypt, joking and laughing about religious extremists trying to force hijabs on women; you can see gleaming, modern life, from Somalia, to the gulf, to Iraq, Afghanistan, etc... what happened? Who is it that continually undermined Arab secularism, and secularism in general across the Islamic world? Who is it that funded terrorists and extremists, who is it that is still trying to destroy the last Arab secularists in Syria? We all know the answer.
For the record, I'm not a Muslim nor an Arab or in any way related to the peoples of the MENA region- I'm ethnic Chinese-Canadian, my family being from Singapore. But this is what the west has brought upon themselves, a thousand times over and then some. They only know how to destroy, to plunder, and then they wonder why the fallout of their actions- the "collateral damage"- wanders into their homes...
The African and Islamic immigration to Europe, is no different from that of the east European immigration to western Europe, or the worldwide immigration and particularly Latin American immigration to the Anglosphere. Turns out that a system that creates hell-on-earth everywhere else, leads to the people fleeing to the last places of refuge (quickly becoming the true hells-on-earth as the rest of the world finally starts to escape western tyranny). Turns out that the system which historically exported its own population by the tens and hundreds of millions (imperialism and settler-colonialism) eventually leads to a hollowed-out white demographic, both in western Europe and in the settler-colonies (founded on genocide and slavery), which is dependent on foreign labor (unlike indigenous civilizations like that of Russia, China, India, etc). Turns out that creating an empire of debt wherein inflation is exported to the rest of the world- the "petrodollar" system, or just in general the reserve currency system ever since the US got utterly addicted to military spending and then had to get off the gold standard when the French started asking for the gold owed... anyways, turns out that creating such a financial system, also leads to a un-competitive, bloated system which can only further consume and print out debt while becoming increasingly ever unaffordable- such a cartoonishly inefficient system that Russia, with a third of the population of the US, and even less than that in comparison to the entire NATO, outproduces the western clowns...
I agree generally with your comment. But in regards to the Muslim immigration, I simply have to say- this is what the west caused; it is not what the Muslims asked for. Europe (western Europe, and all those fools and N@zis who joined NATO) created this problem and now get to deal with the results. Don't forget that these bastards (the ruling elites of the west) intended to do exactly the same, to Russia- that they had almost done exactly the same, till Putin came in and stopped the kleptocratic madness (which they will never forgive him for) of the 90s. Don't forget that even now, they talk about "turning the dollar into ruble," making Russians "fear someone will stab them in their sleep" and giving them "nasty surprises," that they talk about outright balkanizing Russia, carving it up into countless smaller bickering ethnostates rather than the civilization-state it is today- (the incoming high representative of the EU, Kaja Kallas, has outright called for it, look it up, these maniacs aren't hiding it).
What they did to the Soviet Union, the looting and destruction, is still yet incomplete- the antics in Ukraine, from the regime change ("Euromaidan") and the backing of Banderites, etc... was just another one of their attempts, like in Georgia, like in Chechnya, like with that maniac (rest in piss) Navalny whose staffers literally were caught discussing western support for regime change- this was just another one of their attempts to finish the job. They had carved up Russia to such an extent already, looted so much wealth and created such dysfunction and tragedies, and encircled it, propping up blatant N@zis even in the Baltics- and they still kept pushing onwards, to their endgoal of turning Russia into hell-on-earth, like they have done for decades and particularly since the "war on terror" in the Islamic world, and like they are trying now against China and ASEAN.
In another world, if Russia had fared worse off- those migrants, could have been you. They sought to do the same to your country (Russia), they still seek to do this, to it and to all other countries. And maybe you're a "fellow Christian-" but history, that of hundreds of years and of recent history alike, tells us all we need to know about exactly how tolerated you likely would be if you are (presumably) an orthodox ethnic Russian; the Serbs, and the orthodox Ukrainians, as well as your ethnic kin in the Baltics and Ukraine, have some tales of absolute suffering to tell you...

US innovation still on the rise? No, my friend, no. US still innovates, but it has fallen from the number one position in regards to international patents, scientific publications (research), and citations (high quality research). China has overtaken the US in all three metrics.

The USA still innovate, but their policy to keep their innovative companies from their biggest market deprive them of capital. That's a losing policy. Simultanously, the US sanctions policy forces China to go all out on all aspects of R&D.
They still have a few week spots, but those are now systematically fixed.
China has an investments governmental policy. Not just a consumption policy, like the US has..
These things make a difference, long-term!
The top education in the USA is very good, but the educational population basis is decreasing because of high cost and low quality creeping in. It has to have some effect, and isn't easily reversed.
The US can't rely on only Indian STEM graduates, now when the Chinese are gone.
The US is underestimating the Chinese in this regard. They handle education as if it were one of their supply chains.
That will make them more formidable than expected!

The West contributes to only 12 % of the world population, thus the global south can still develop much of its purchasing power from the rest of the world. Even Apple, Germany automobile and many other products of the West are dependent on China and the global south markets from its huge population consumers. The move of Western companies to China is not only because of the cheap labour but also for the huge market in China and Asia. Thus China and Asia have their own market, other than the natural resources.

all economic output isn't the same; when the US became a superpower it led the world in manufacturing, agriculture and technical innovation; today the US is falling behind China, and others in tech innovation (Taiwan, South Korea, Japan); and clearly in manufacturing.
The US financial markets, service industries, and raw materials, etc., are leading the US economic output; but what they produce isn't of tangible value in daily life; they really don't produce tangible goods, perhaps indirectly at best by providing market value that can be leveraged into producing tangible goods; they are part of the overall fiat currency purveyance, and are useless / have little value after an economic collapse vs tangible goods, food, water, etc.
without a solid manufacturing base, production of tangible goods, efficient use of natural resources for domestic production, etc., the US isn't producing much of anything with actual, intrinsic value.

They will milk the system for all it's worth causing further economic decline and when things start to fall apart with the national debt they will play their hand and tear a piece of the country apart and manage it as a seperate country. America will ultimately become several smaller countries ruled by it's own people, wether latino, Spanish/Portugese speaking, Catholic or Muslim faction etc.

The British Empire was comparatively short-lived (c. 1717-1917) but the Roman Empire took c. 500 years to collapse in half (the western half of the Roman Empire lasted from c. 31 BCE to c. 464 CE) followed by the Eastern Roman Empire which lasted over 1000 years (c. 315 CE to 1453 CE out of Byzantium-Constantinople)
Compared to the Roman Empire, The French Empire c. 1804 to c. 1870 only lasted about 65 years; the Holy Roman Empire c. 800 CE to about 1806 CE lasted an almost even 1000 years ending with the rise of Napoleon -
We can see that there were many other ‘empires’ in History (The Greek, Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Mongol, Ottoman, Aztec, Mayan, Chinese (221 BCE to 1911), Japanese, Mauryan Indian Empire, and dozens of others over the past 5,000 years -but the USA (‘America’) was never ‘officially’ a self-proclaim’d ‘empire’ although the country certainly behaves as if it were one-and treats other nation states as if it is not governed by international laws or norms - it is a kind of ‘empire in everything but name’ and will probably take another fifty years to one-hundred years to implode into individual state-confederacies based on geographical proximity … and shared resources…
For example we can easily imagine a western United states confederacy under a single flag comprising CA, WA, OR, AZ, NV & possibly annexing ID & Alaska-Hawaii and once seceded from the US as it exists to-day and could form its own separate ‘nation’ by 2060 if the current political-economic shite really does hit the fan -
    Following the secession of the western part of the US I can easily see the southern states of GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TN, MO, AR, KY, and adding Puerto Rico - most of which states had already broken off once before forming their own country (‘The Confederate States of America’ with their own constitution, President & Vice-President & Supreme Court & Legislative Congress & Military &c. (1861-1865) and will no doubt form their own country once again as a bloc of ‘Confederate’ states, with TX no doubt becoming its own separate country possibly even grabbing NM & OK into its new nation;
And following suit, the New England states no doubt will also break off & form a new country called ‘New England’ taking NY, MA, NH, VT, ME, CT, NJ, RI, DE MD, VA, WVA, & PA and forming their own separate national government & military & currency- soon followed by the so-called central states (MI, OH, IN, IL, MN, ND, SD, CO, WY, MT, KS, IA & NB) forming their own country -
And I can easily see that this secession process could well take place over the next 100-150 years if not sooner - each of these confederations of states will have their own president-vice president, their own Congress, supreme courts, military & currency-Treasury systems, using their own national printed money & bitcoins - whether these new break-off nations will declare war on each other to grab resources & technology is an open question as would be their access to nuclear & biological weapons systems -
If the US does implode into smaller countries - the question is will larger empires like China invade & occupy e.g. the new western states nation which would include the vast resources of say California ? Would Mexico join Russia in re-taking this part of the North American continent over ?
Could ‘New Texas’ be annexed to Mexico in the future ? Would other languages like Spanish or Mandarin and imported religious traditions be imposed on western nation citizens if such ‘foreign’ invasions were to take place ?
How would these new nations write their national constitutions - what rights would be added-to and/or subtracted-from the rights the current US Constitution currently grants (and limits) its citizens ?
Would the ‘Confederate States of America’ re-instate the institution of slavery ?
How would these new nations handle the currently very complex ownership of ‘federal’ lands and departments (especially military-nuclear facilities) and how would they respect the rights of indigenous peoples living on ‘Indian Reservations’ in their newly formed countries ?
I can readily see mass migrations of entire cities if this process ever got started in earnest …
These are the kinds of complex, open questions that keep sociologists & historians up at night …

There is a political theory (forget the name) that predicts conflict based on the decline of one empire and the rise of the next. At a certain point, the lines cross, and there is conflict. The same time was post WW2, but that time, the US used economics to end the British Empire.
This time, for the first time, the current superpower has the power to ensure there is no next empire or civilization for thousands of years, thanks to nuclear weapons.
This is a new dynamic that we haven't seen before, and how it plays out one can only guess. The American people have become so limp dicked they will probably just roll over, rather than use their power to ensure it is either them, or no one.

While economic decline is a key, it's the moral rot that leads to economic decline which causes the downfall. The important point here is the downfall is not due to economics but economic downfall is the result of the moral and social corruption.

I would argue that there is a strong case for the decline in Education in the USA. Look at the College and University campuses, look at the arguments we are having about introducing identity politics nonsense. That isn't happening in the East. The East continually outperforms the west in testing and tangible things, they may not be able to name all the groups represented on the Rainbow flag, but luckily for them, its math and science that keep bridges and buildings standing.
Also, on a military front, the US is also in a steep decline. We are watching the collapse of project Ukraine, and the US Military lags behind Russia and China in Nuclear, Hypersonic missiles, Drone warfare and Air defense. The US Arms industry has become a strategic threat to the United States. They have prioritized profitability over functionality, and that is why we can't produce more patriot missiles (that don't work very well in the 1st place) because they are too damn expensive. For those companies, its more profitable to produce 1 really expensive missile rather than 100 cheap, fit for purpose missiles like the Russians produce.
This is all fine when you're fighting a bunch of Taliban fighters with AK-47s (a war in which we lost by the way), using 5 million dollar a pop missiles to turn big rocks into small rocks, but when fighting a real adversary, like Russia, Iran or China, that isn't going to work and it isn't sustainable. The US gave away its production capacity in the 90's to China for a few good years of Stock evaluations by screwing over the US worker because Chinese labor was cheaper, and now we are seeing the consequences of that greed and corruption.
