My aunt was obsessed with those troll dolls, especially on bingo night. I loved my Beanie Babies & Tickle Me Elmo, although I loved Tickle Me Cookie Monster better.
Seriously, where were the LEGOs? They were huge!! They should have at least popped up in the last few decades. Lincoln Logs, K'Nex, and Tinker Toys too.
I dont know either LEGO is the best selling toy of all time next to barbi girl and havnt seen either on any of the lists... Maybe It's just because they keep peeking 😉
I'm not a pokemon fan but they should be higher. Cause like you mentioned on how important they were to kids. Pokemon was so serious then and still is in certain circles. When they came out when I was in the 5th grade…they were everything. You were a loser if you didn't watch and collect Pokemon.
I'm a child of the 90s and despite my family being poor, I had all of these (except Elmo. I was too old for him) I think I still have my Pog slammer in a box somewhere. I had SO many Pogs! Oh those were the times!
ImmaLittlePip Pokémon is still huge. It's Nintendo's second biggest franchise (only thing bigger is Mario) and the main series games are still system sellers for handhelds to this day.
I get that in the 90s furbies were pretty cool, but when you grow up, take the batteries out, and throw them in your closet, only to hear "Come play with me!" At midnight.
Dark in the house watching a scary movie your Furby goes off my God I remember those night and you forgot you had the Furby that talks if you had two Furbies they talk to each other.. I don't remember what happened to my kids Furbies I think my husband through the out
I remember every one of these toys, seeing these brings back good childhood memories. I remember when pokemon first came to America every kid had the cards and watched the cartoon, its amazing how many years went by since then....I wish I still had my batman and Robocop toys =(
I wanted the Creepy Crawlers maker when I was little, but one of my grandmas actually found a poseable doll maker that worked the same way. A seemingly little-known 90's toy, but still neat :3
I remember having a furby (can't remember If it was actually mine) and I quite liked it then one day I walked past it and it said my name. I shat myself and threw it down the stairs.
I remember all of those toys. I especially remember the pog craze. My favorite on the list was the Creepy Crawlers. My friend had one, and I was always making mine with the glow-in-the-dark goo. During the holidays, when stores ran out of Tickle-Me-Elmos, some parents would turn violent.
I don't think I had the "Tickle me Elmo" but I did have an Elmo cuddly toy as one of my first ever toys... I still have him, so number one brought some needed nostalgia.
Why is everyone so against gender stereotypes? It's a thing our culture does; make kids grow up with the same interests as other people with our gender, that doesn't mean we have to abolish toys aimed at a certain gender. It just means we need to accept the kids who's personalities don't match their gender.
I guess they make kids who don't fit the mould feel abnormal. It was like that for me. Growing up, I hated playing with "girly toys" and instead played with Action Men, soldiers, spy gadgets, video games, etc. I also wore t-shirts and jeans rather than dresses/skirts. People at school always assumed I wanted to be a boy. I didn't... I just wore and played with what I liked. It didn't mean I didn't want to be a girl. I always felt shit though... like I wasn't a "normal" girl, and also made me want to hang around boys more because I just assumed that all girls only liked boring, pretty, dainty things. Of course, that's not true at all.
I don't see why children can't have both: I loved playing with Barbies and mini kitchen sets when I was younger, but I enjoyed Nerf guns and Hot Wheels too. Sure, I liked dressing Barbies up a little more, but where's the fun if kids can't dabble with both?
I had an easy bake oven. To me that stuff tasted pretty good. I also had beanie babies, pokemon cards, and dr horrible lab stuff where you make creepy gooey stuff that was edible. I dunno I think more girls were interested in the easy bake and barbies that is why it was marketed to them. I didnt care because i just like to make food lol You have to know your main demographic if you are selling a product.
Can anyone talk about toys these days without mentioning "oppressive gender stereotypes"? Its a fucking toy, the last thing the kid is thinking about while playing with it is its sociological impact. Most girls like dolls, most boys like trucks, get over it. Its completely natural; parents buy the toys their kids wants, they don't force gender-specific toys on them to cement their respective gender roles,
I know people are so politically correct and sensitive these days. It annoys me like no other. The people who market these toys have no ulterior motive other than making money and selling as many as possible by marketing to the correct demographic. You are right it is up to the parents to decide what is best and ask the kids what they want to play with. Anyone who has a problem with that and wants to be someone else's parents can go fuck themselves into oblivion.
You're right, it's clearly becaues of evolution that boys would be genetically predisposed to enjoy playing with a model of something that's only existed for around 70 years.
True. My sister was a tomboy and she always wanted the boy toys. She never pointed out how the commercials only had boys on them, she just said "I WANT THAT!". She got boy toys for xmas and her birthday (as well as girl toys)..People need to realise that kids don't care
This is the 4th video in a special series running the week of Christmas to celebrate the best part of the holidays - getting cool stuff. I have a rage inducing story involving a school and Pokemon cards. I was walking with friends after school talking about a sweet deck that took me weeks to build (I was eight at the time). We stop in front of the school because a friend had to tie his shoe. Then the freaking assistant principal walked up to me, and took my cards! I was upset because school had been over for more than two hours, and me and friends were walking by the school because I lived nearby, and the neighborhood was pretty cool. It took me a long while to save up the money to buy the cards because I didn't get an allowance as a kid. This was bullshit because school was long over by then... (It's been over fifteen years and I'm still a bit annoyed by it)
I wanted a furby, got one, then soon after thought it was possessed because it would not shut the hell up even when I wasnt even near it so I took the batteries out and it became my door stopper. Hahaha.
When I was a kid, I remember quite often waking up in the middle of the night to my furby saying shit like "come play with me"... Definitely had to smash the thing.
Whike i hated polly pocket thru sisters obsessionwith her they where defiantly better then furbies. And Barbie has always been sense her creation and still is very popular.
I remember the creepy crawlers...the thing burned my hands all the time but it was way more fun than the easy-bake oven. Ahh, I still remember the smell of the plastic...I even remember that commercial.
I'm 30 my brother is 34 and out of everything we had we had the most of, Action Figures, LEGOS, Comic Books. We dropped toys all together when the first playstation came out.
I had everything mentioned (including honourable mentions) except the easy bake oven and I haven't found a fellow 90s kid yet who didn't have a tickle me Elmo, I still have mine!
Furby once you stop playing with it for a few years and have forgotten where you put it. It will come back and remind you that you guys are going to play forever.
Uh Not too sure what to write here so heres a recipe for Pancakes instead Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3 tablespoons sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg 2 large eggs, at room temperature 1 1/4 cups milk, at room temperature 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more as needed Now to make it 1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. 2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the milk and vanilla. 3. Melt the butter in a large cast iron skillet or griddle over medium heat. 4. Whisk the butter into the milk mixture. Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture, and whisk until a thick batter is just formed 5. Keeping the skillet at medium heat, ladle about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet, to make a pancake. Make 1 or 2 more pancakes, taking care to keep them evenly spaced apart. Cook, until bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, and the undersides are golden brown, about 2 minutes. Flip with a spatula and cook about 1 minute more on the second side. Serve immediately or transfer to a platter and cover loosely with foil to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter to the skillet as needed. 6. Procedure for adding fruit to pancakes: Once the bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, scatter the surface with sliced or diced fruit, or chocolate chips, nuts, etc. Flip with a spatula and cook for 1 minute more, being careful not to burn toppings.
Furby always reminded me of gizmo from gremlins. I named mine Dallas. That easy bake oven was such a con I don't know how either my mom or me thought getting one was a good idea to get one.
The sisters and I all got Furby's one Christmas. A couple years ago I was helping to clean their old closet when we found one with year's old batteries inside. (Batteries ruined the toy since we've neglected it for 15 years).
Power Rangers should've been at least an Honorable Mention. Yes, they do have figures still going today, but when it came out back in 1993, parents were going nuts to find them for their kids. Plus they had a stage show and movie within the first 2 years, the stage show set roughly during Season 2, and the movie bridging the gap between Seasons 2 and 3, at least until the series had the real transition of powers
I still have my Furbee, Tamagotchi and Pogs at home. Sometimes I take them out and play with them, to take me back to when times were simple and all you did was to play. Not to brag but I owned at POG. Always won:) I wish these things would come back and people collects them again. Maybe something for my eventual future children?
Aww yeah son! This is what's good! My brother had custody of the Nerf balls and Pogs. I had a Furby named Cla Da but I could never keep my Tamagotchi alive. I got a hundred Teeny Beanies but only one full size. My gen 1 PokeMon cards are still in their binder. A part of me still lives in the 90s and always will.
put batteries in it, it woke up said something about being sleepy, and then it did its snoring shit until it shut up, does that every time, fresh batteries or no
Furbies are fucking scary.
Had a friend that worked at Toys R Us and he said those things would randomly start talking at night.
Robert Herrera lol
He said that the cleaning crew never wanted to clean that aisle.
My bird was petrified of the toy it was funny for me
So are furries.
My aunt was obsessed with those troll dolls, especially on bingo night. I loved my Beanie Babies & Tickle Me Elmo, although I loved Tickle Me Cookie Monster better.
When TMX Elmo came out they added Ernie to the “Tickle Me” collection!
Seriously, where were the LEGOs? They were huge!!
They should have at least popped up in the last few decades.
Lincoln Logs, K'Nex, and Tinker Toys too.
Lego is old as fuck why would they appear in a 90s toyline list
Lego's expand all decades covered... they came out in the 50 and height of popularity wasn't the 90's at all.
I know, I played with K'Nex nonstop in the 90's, it was all over TV, not so much now
I dont know either LEGO is the best selling toy of all time next to barbi girl and havnt seen either on any of the lists... Maybe It's just because they keep peeking 😉
haha i still have most of my legos in a giant box somewhere in storage. i remember laying on the floor building stuff for hours with my friends.
No power rangers? How dare you!
Yeah, how dare you Rebecca!!!
Diogo Maurício rebecca? dafuq??????
I agree! Power Rangers were the main toys that I collected in the 90's!
I did suggest the Power Rangers; I was too old for toys by the 1990s, so my suggestions are based upon they toys my nephews collected...
It a ripoff anyway
I'm not a pokemon fan but they should be higher. Cause like you mentioned on how important they were to kids. Pokemon was so serious then and still is in certain circles.
When they came out when I was in the 5th grade…they were everything. You were a loser if you didn't watch and collect Pokemon.
I'm a child of the 90s and despite my family being poor, I had all of these (except Elmo. I was too old for him) I think I still have my Pog slammer in a box somewhere. I had SO many Pogs! Oh those were the times!
wow this made me feel old lol.......I remembers all these when they were in their popularity stages lol
Same here damn I have forgotten how huge pokemon was
Good times though good times
OLD! JK!
lol yea a lot of these toys I forgot how popular they were. XD
And yes old lol! me and my 1/4 century ;)
ImmaLittlePip Pokémon is still huge. It's Nintendo's second biggest franchise (only thing bigger is Mario) and the main series games are still system sellers for handhelds to this day.
Nostalgia is great huh.
WTF!?! No Power Rangers!?! You do know that Power Rangers was the #1 selling toy of the 90's right?
I nearly had all of those McDonald's Beanie Babies back then. Wish I still had them because they were all so adorable
I don't know how popular they were but I played with my sky dancers a lot!
oh and doodle bears!
I remember being a pokemon master!
I was a 90s kid and it was the BEST! I remember all of these. :)
I don't remember what happened to my kids Furbies I think my husband through the out
Hell yeah, Creepy Crawlers!
I always wanted this toy as a kid.
I miss the 90s'. Best decade ever.
Matthew Austin Call me if you build a time machine I wanna go back to the last great decade!
The 90s were a simpler time especially compared to today
As an 80's guy, I have to disagree. 😁
Including myself, NOBODY I know has any idea where their pogs are today haha. It's like they all just disappeared at once.
Furby looks like a gremlin
They remind me of gremlins
It reminds me of gizmo from the movie Gremlins .
@@valerieannrumpf4151 There was a Furby: Gizmo for a bit.
Do you know what they had to give Tickle me Elmo be for he left the factory?
TWO TEST TICKLES AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Hahaha I see what you did there.
I get it! TEST+TICKLES!
You win
You are not funny #Robinwilliams
Ever seen what the vibrating mechanism looks like in Elmo?
how in the Hell did the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers not make the list? that is one of the biggest toy lines in history
80's Honorable mention section
No beast wars i call bullshit
agreed
Power Rangers also dominated 93-95
***** true
Never heard of beast wars...
HarryWessex you probably don't remember its transformers in pre historic times.
Is it just me or were toys scary in the 90's and 2000's?
No, Beanie Babies scared me throughout my childhood!
You should see stuffed animals from, like, the 40's
I'm not being racist here, but when I was little, black toys and puppets scared the hell out of me.
Gareth Morris Read the comment below you.
OHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH! DAT THE SHIIIT POKEMAN CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember every one of these toys, seeing these brings back good childhood memories. I remember when pokemon first came to America every kid had the cards and watched the cartoon, its amazing how many years went by since then....I wish I still had my batman and Robocop toys =(
Calling it right now for the 2000's list, Bionicle.
I wanted the Creepy Crawlers maker when I was little, but one of my grandmas actually found a poseable doll maker that worked the same way. A seemingly little-known 90's toy, but still neat :3
really fun watching all those toys, as I have used some of them myself!!
I love that you used a clip of the troll doll from that old scare film "Case Study: LSD" from 1969. Great call!
im a 90's kid from the Uk and the toy I had the most of was action man others where power rangers, batman, transformers and star wars
I loved my Creepy Crawlers! I made way too many- at least three birthdays consisted of refills for that damn thing
Never heard of pogs but I have heard of tazos both very similar
***** in England it was Tazos and later it was mini lightsabers lol
Tazos in England? Wut?!
I know that they called them tazos in South America but just that.
***** they came in cereal, there used to be massive lightsabre fights!
Sora yeah they came in crisps! :)
***** yeah lol, sadly they got banned 2 weeks in XD
I remember that shit but tickle me elmo was from the 2000s for babies who like barney.
#9 Looks like a gremlin DON'T FEED IT AFTER MIDNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL! For some reason, Elmo falling back and slamming the back of his head on the table at 9:22 is REALLY making me bust up laughing. XD
I remember having a furby (can't remember If it was actually mine) and I quite liked it then one day I walked past it and it said my name. I shat myself and threw it down the stairs.

My brother had creepy crawlers
God I feel old now

Adam taleb what the hell is a hair tattoo?!
I still have my Tickle Me Elmo...
Except for he sounds like Hulk Hogan in slow-mo
Ever tried to change the batteries?
Pffft I haven't gotten that thing out since I was six. I was an idiot back then too.
I gave my Tickle-Me-Elmo to a friend...who proceeded to get it wet and ruin its circuitry by taking it swimming with her!
If you're reading this merry Christmas! Hope you get some awesome gifts from your loved ones!
Beanie Babies, Furby, Troll Dolls and Tickle-Me-Elmo, those are toy gadgets of the 1990's.
Can anyone talk about toys these days without mentioning "oppressive gender stereotypes"? Its a fucking toy, the last thing the kid is thinking about while playing with it is its sociological impact. Earl Grey
Kids don't care! The only problem is that parents do.
I got both because grandparents spoiled us rotten and i had at 1 time 3 easy bake ovens do to families lack of communication.
The last decade before kids became obsessed with phones and kids went to the toy store
No Star Wars, no Hot Wheels, no Legos.
What the Hell is Wrong With this List?!!
Star Wars and hotwheels were on the 70s list and Lego are on the 2000s list
WHERE THE HELL IS THE YO-YO??!!
Almost a perfect list....

Haha! About the Pokemon cards...did you mean: "Who cares about that F-ing geometry" or "Who cares about that F in geometry?" ;)
Calm N' Cents why not both
WatchMojo.com thanks for this video ...brought good memories of my childhood
i gave my furby away as it got crazy..it started talking jibberish even when its turned off and just creeped me out
Kris Figueroa My daughter loved those and, yes, they were extremely creepy!
I mostly collected action figures when I was a kid during the 90s. It was cool back then and still cool to this day.
(It's been over fifteen years and I'm still a bit annoyed by it)
Man kids had lame toys in the 90's when you look at the greatness that was the 80's
I wanted a furby, got one, then soon after thought it was possessed because it would not shut the hell up even when I wasnt even near it so I took the batteries out and it became my door stopper. Hahaha.
You know the movie Gremlins? Thats what furbies were. Real life gremlins.
Hahahahaa yep
When I was a kid, I remember quite often waking up in the middle of the night to my furby saying shit like "come play with me"... Definitely had to smash the thing.
Whike i hated polly pocket thru sisters obsessionwith her they where defiantly better then furbies. And Barbie has always been sense her creation and still is very popular.
This brings back really good memories. Proud to be a 90's baby.
I can't wait for the Holiday Break which starts tomorrow!
Lol my holiday break started last week.

But yeah I'm in college let's say it like that in Holland it's different so more vacation
I grew up in the 90s (born 1986). My 90s toys were Power Rangers toys, Xmen toys, Dragon Ball Z toys, WWF/WWE toys.
Warning:
Don't feed your furbie after midnight. Don't get them wet. And keep them out of sunlight.
Isn't that Gremlins?
Come to think of it Furbies do look quite a bit like Gremlins.
Tattletale are the new cousins
Wtf, i wanted lego like every single xmas back in the 90s. This list is uncompleted big time! :o
Where are the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!? It was almost impossible to get em' when the show came out in 1993.
Ah you beat me to it! XD
Glad someone else noticed it was unfortunately missing from this list 😊
I didn't grow up in the 90's but I'm curious where they are.
I LOVED the Creepy Crawler thing as a kid. It was messy and hard to operate, but the outcome was worth it.
Yu-gi-oh! cards were way more popular than Pokemon cards where I live in England from the late 90's to early 00's
No Power Ranger!U R JOKING RIGHT ?!!!
Tickle me almo, and Pokemon cards number 5... u sure brah
Los 90s : sin duda.. me quito el sombrero... mis respetos... la mejor decada en este planeta y quizas y ojala algun dia se repita
Huh. No Toybiz marvel legends, I guess these videos aren't exactly for collectors 😂
Toybiz legends came out in the early 2000s not the 90s. I'm hoping they'll show up in the next decade.
I thought they came out in later 90's, but yeah me too.
I still have my original Tickle Me Elmo.
*Oh boy! That tickled*
"reinforcing gender stereotypes for the next-generation"...Jesus H...
We dropped toys all together when the first playstation came out.
the yoyo was like another world when it came out
wait! you mean to tell me that Ninja Turtle toys are only an honorable mention in the 80's? I usually agree with these lists but thats just crazy
The tuumbnail was too good to resist clicking. Great job on that and on the list
I honestly think the WatchMojo writers don't get enough credit. I think these videos are clever and incredibly well written.
I'm Norwegian, but I loved most of these toys, especially Furby, Pokemon cards and the Super Soaker!!
Oh man I remember all of those I grew up in the 1990s I truly am a 90's kid.
Good list! Can't wait for my decade tomorrow.
Also....
>born in 2001
>remembers 9/10 of these
POGS were the shit back when I was a kid
Loved playing with them during school breaktime
One of my favorite toys in the 90's was sailor moon dolls i love them
I LITERALLY had every single one of these toys in the 90s.
Uh
Not too sure what to write here so heres a recipe for Pancakes instead
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 1/4 cups milk, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more as needed
Now to make it
Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture, and whisk until a thick batter is just formed

Holy flying turtle batman I miss the 90's
Nostalgia was sparked when I saw the furbys and man did I play with that thing!
Man i remember small polly pockets and sky 💃 they were my jam!
LMAO @ elmo slamming his head on the table at the end!
Omg IS THAT SIMPLY NAILOGICAL?!!!???
You didn't mention *mr buzzy purple snake*? My mum said that it was a popular 90s toy *when I found it in her draw?*
I miss the 90's... cool shows, saturday morning cartoons
Oooh, so that's where the "Stop touching me Elmo" doll came from :-D
I had a Troll doll when I was little. It's been lost for years, but I know it had pink hair.
Pogs are actually still sold as Tazos, which are found in Mexican chips, (such as Lays and Doritos). In case if those aren't sold anymore.
I had literally all of these when I was a kid!!
I'm 19 years old and still have my tickle me elmo from my childhood. Haha
No Jurassic Park?! This is madness... MADNESS!
I still have my Furbee, Tamagotchi and Pogs at home. Sometimes I take them out and play with them, to take me back to when times were simple and all you did was to play. Not to brag but I owned at POG. Always won:)
I wish these things would come back and people collects them again. Maybe something for my eventual future children?
Losing a tamagotchi pet was heart wrenching.
A part of me still lives in the 90s and always will.
i had a furby, it glitched on me, wouldnt stop going back to msleep when you woke it up
It needs batteries
put batteries in it, it woke up said something about being sleepy, and then it did its snoring shit until it shut up, does that every time, fresh batteries or no
9:22 I think Elmo just got himself a concussion.
I forgot how to play with pogs and slammers, but I remember it being serious business back on the playground. Probably still have some somewhere.
I had damn near all those toys. With the exception of tickle me elmo. If I'm not mistaken, people resold those things for hundreds of dollars.
