  • Coaches and athletes in all sports are always looking for newer, better ways of doing things.
One overlooked aspect of coaching is that of engagement - which could be defined as creating a coaching environment where athletes willingly give more than could reasonably be expected.
A consistent factor observed in successful athletes is the way they complete their training. Where most athletes just "do" the work they have been ask to do, an engaged athlete will do the little extra things, work a little harder, give more than could be expected to everything they do.
It's this little extra that makes all the difference - and the cumulative effect of an athlete always doing the little things right - being prepared to do more than anyone else is prepared - to do that makes winning performances.
