YankiRides, I have to say kudos to you. Your video is one of the best and most entertaining on YT for this particular helmet. Good luck with your channel, and ride on!
No sun shield for North America is a hard no for me! Have been watching videos and yours was the first one to point that out, thanks! I guess I’ll get another AT950.
Based, balanced, informative & fairly comprehensive from a real perspective...your channel deserves more views. If you never hear from me again, all the best in your future endeavours. Great info, thanks.
On the mount, you just push the gopro mount hard on the helmet plate, the 3m tape without removing the film, will get a mark, where screw is, use it as reference and drill a small hole the size of the bolts, then remove the film and stick it to the plate, sometimes its not a pain in the ass but we just need to think a bit harder to find the solution to a problem
Yea the design was a bit of an oversight. I’m working on a piece that is just one piece with the GoPro mount on it and replaces the scorpion mount altogether
Got one a couple days ago. was on the fence a little but have no regrets after taking the plunge. The pump isn't applicable to me but the fact it came with a smoke visor and a camera mount tipped the scales, the titanium d rings pushed me over the edge.
the pump is a novelty, but i do find myself using it when i am not wearing a necktube/face covering to take up the little extra slack... deffinitely not a reason to buy it.. it has about a dozen better reasons. glad its working out well... people used to crap over scorpion, but i have been using them for years and have never been let down.
Excellent choice. When I bought my XT, I considered ordering the ADF from Europe instead, just because of the sun visor and the white with blue and red color scheme, but I don't want to play around with not having that super meaningful DOT sticker on the helmet. If only the US would get with the program and just go along with the ECE rating that actually means something, like MOST of the rest of the world. I had also considered both the Bell MX-9 and the Scorpion AT-950. The 950 is just too heavy, and everything I read said that the MX-9 is very noisy. Even though it was more expensive than the other two, the XT 9000 was the obvious choice, simply because of the features you get for the money. I can live without the flip down internal visor because sunglasses actually fit well in the helmet, and they do the trick if I have the clear shield on. I'm also in GA, so I tend to just keep the tinted face shield on, only swapping if I'll be in the dark. A tip for swapping out the face shield, undo the top connection on the peak and rotate the peak up out of the way. It will be a lot easier to man-handle the face shields off and on. As for the action cam adapter, try this: Take the whole thing off, while it's off, mark a new GoPro adapter using the hole in the plate as a template, then drill an access hole through it. Stick the adapter to the plate, carefully lining up the holes, and screw it back onto the helmet.
I love the helmet, and it is miles above my previous adv helmets. I know its nit picky, i just wish it had the drop down lol. i got so used to it with the 950 lol I have some plans for the action cam mount. goin to see a guy about a 3d printed horse this weekend.
Have you managed to finish the prototyping of this one-piece GoPro holder?) could you please share the link where it is possible to download / buy it?🙏 I would like to make such model for my ADF-9000 but better to start from ready model if you wouldn't mind to share it :)
Bought the Euro version with the drop down sun visor for just over $400 from ChromeBurners. Shipped from the Netherlands and delivered in 5 days. Super happy with the helmet! Also had the AT-950.
@YankiRides Agreed. I won't wear a helmet that doesn't have one, now. I LOVE AGV lids (have 2 limited edition Ross's and 2 Horizons) but I don't wear them anymore because no sun visor.
I definitely need a new helmet in a year. pads are shot - coming up past 5 years of ownership - just not sure which one to get. so this helps. even though I am not in the adv side just yet. was looking at a modular but we shall see. keep up the fun vids.
I can't believe they didn't incorporate the EXO Bluetooth headset. I own it and I'm mad. I geared up for the first time in forty years, and didn't realize there are options like built-in controls. What are you using?
I use the Cardo Packtalk Edge. I have been using it since it launched and it works like it did out of the box, and that's after about 15,000 miles, storms, winters, and about a year of off-road riding.
@@sgtshak2806 it actually does help. This is the second helmet I’ve had with the system and I noticed in both a marked difference in noise with it pumped up. Plus the way it snugs up on the cheeks helps distribute the weight a little better
Just curious, Did the helmet have enough space to use the Clip mount for the Cardo packtalk? and are the speakers behind the pad or on the pad? (earpad) Just got my XT9000 in the same color and I love it! thank you for the video.
Great review! Thank you. I’ve been thinking hard about this helmet since I tried one on 4 months ago. I’m waiting for the Arai XD-5 to hit stores before I make a decision. One thing I wanted to ask: other reviews mention the weird lip/edge on the bottom of the shield makes it difficult/distracting to run the shield one detent up from fully closed because it distorts your vision. Have you found this to be an issue for you? I typically like to ride with my visor/shield cracked open one detent since I ride with prescription glasses and it helps with fogging.
So the helmet doesn’t have a true “city mode” detent, so in the slightly open position you do get a little distortion. It’s noticeable, but at least for me, it’s low enough that it isn’t a distraction. It’s such a small piece and it’s so low that it only occupies a very small portion of your fov. I haven’t found it to be a bother, but others may.
Does the XT9000 fit the same as the AT960? Like, is the internal shape the same? I really want to try this helmet, but the AT960 doesn't fit my head shape well.
havent had it in anything above 80 degrees yet, so I cant say, but it handled 80 like nothing. running it with the vents full open it flows a ton of air. hotter than that I cant speak on.
@YankiRides ok, thanks. In japan I probably have to get the adf9000. I prefer the sun visor but the 70pinlock is frustrating compared to the XT9000 120 plinlock. Have to pay extra for the 120 Also, ADF is not full carbon. It’s carbon fiberglass. Not much more weight though
@@YankiRides Thanks for such an excellent review! About the attachment of the Cardo, did you use the clamp with cradle or the glue plate? Ride safe! :)

Hell yeah. Digging the way you tackled the structure of the video.
I also agree with regards to the sun shades.
Beauner out✌🏻😎
Glad you liked it
Yea, the drop down sun visor is just a must have imo
@@YankiRides it's an overlooked spec for sure. Specially if you're planning on riding at night, that way you only need one shield.

Regarding the GoPro mount you can drill a hole in the GoPro sticky mount allowing you to undo the screw below
I’ve got a prototype I’m testing for a 3d printed solution. Replace the 2 plates with 1.
Love the idea for a cheap solution though. I’m upset I didn’t think of that until you said something lol

I’m super jealous. lol. Drop down makes it a 10/10 in my opinion
Yeah I seen them on fcmoto for about 300 in solid color. Shipping is only like 30-40$. Plus the drop down inner shield. Saves 200$
Still wearing a 950. Looked to upgrade to the 9000 but the lack of internal visor killed it for me.
The drop down is such a good thing to have. No idea why they didn’t bring it over from the eu model

for modular street, i like their gt930 (i have the previous version and love it)
For a pure street helmet, cant go wrong with their r1.

Prob a dumb question but what's the purpose of the visor in the helmet anyway?
supposed to protect from kicked up debris and to keep glare from your eyes.

@@MightyMouzMoto yea. I figured that’s what you were talking about. That’s what the peak is designed for
