We shouldn't have to list every single day just to get sales. eBay is broken and is a sinking ship.
I can only dream of a weekend like that. Out of 300+ listings, I managed to sell 2 items last weekend.
What's more annoying is when you see an item you're selling, go for more money on auction. And even in worse condition from a low feedback seller...For more money!
Some people just bid and don't even check what its worth on buy it now.
I reckon it's for a lot with just getting your products seen but then the promotion fees don't make it worth it, especially with lower priced items...
Ebay sales are the worst I've seen since I joined in 1998.
Everything is relative, that would be an excellent weekend sales for me - 19 is way above my sales dreams athough I sometimes get a home run and hit £255 but that is nearer my weekly sales figure. As an OAP I'm happy with that, as I said everything is relative.
I've been selling on eBay since 2017. I'm not a business seller, just selling off my own bits n bobs etc. In 2017/18 I made about two and a half grand which I thought was pretty OK considering I'm not a business. I didn't bother too much during the covid years but since going back to selling last autumn I've noticed a definite shift in the way eBay seem to prioritise business sellers over little nobody's like me. Unlike 2017 when I felt like I lived in the post office, I'm lucky if I sell one or two items a month. I realise eBay make more money from business sellers but it is kinda sucky to be so far down the listing that you barely get any views. I've sold 700 items and have above average feedback but I'm beginning to wonder if it's even worth bothering anymore.
Just keep listing, when sales slow down I use the time you'd spend packing orders to go through my backlog. I've decided to tackle the LPs and clothes I've collected over the years and never bother listing. It's a seasonal business with most sales taking place in the last quarter of the year with the Christmas season, so use this time to prepare. Thanks for the Whatnot voucher, I look forward to getting the File jumper!
My eBay sales have dropped a lot. Even products that used to be popular. I put promoted listings, but turned off the dynamic ads (as eBay goes mad with ad percentages!) I do have a lot of things yet to list, but it is a bit frustrating.
Im almost 100% confident sales have gone way down over the past few years. Especially for those who are casual or part time. I use to sell full time and had to actually get a fulltime job and a 2nd job because theyve been that bad. Idk if its the economy or ebay stauration. Ive always been in the used clothing category with random antiques mixed in if i had a good find on a singer sewing machine or royal typwriter. I remember listing levi jeans..and levi denim shirts and having them sell within a few days to 1 week max @ 18-20$ USD...that now wont even sell @ 10$..and if i found a 100% silk tommy bahama floral shirt that would normally be a HUGE find. It would sell within 24-48 hours @ 20-25$ usd. i recently found a silk tommy about a month ago..was hyped..and now im still looking at that same shirt in my listings that i now have listed at 15$ usd with 3 views....so basically, even items that use to be my HOT items that would sell fast with a good profit are now equally as dead as my worse filler items.
I was subscribed as king on tv, I’ve now set myself up as a business seller. Started Saturday, spent all day Monday packing! Hope I can keep it up, it’s people like you, brum reseller, George and Ricky resells have inspired me to do it!

Maybe sales are getting lower because of these reseller videos giving people inspiration to do this.. I’ve noticed a lot more reseller types in charity shops lately because you and others are giving away the tips and secrets 😉 just a thought.. this is why I won’t do UA-cam I just resell part time and work full time as an engineer
Also the charity shops have cottoned on to resellers and watch your videos too.. then they check eBay before pricing items so basically the eBay marketplace is getting too saturated and sourcing is becoming too expensive

It seems to be the same time every month, probably too near pay day. I usually find the weekend sales will pick up.
As a Brit now living in Canada, I use eBay less because of the high postage costs for International purchases. Often the postage is far higher than the item with the majority of sellers.
My grandson aged now 14 loved his play mobile zoo. As a5 Yr old. Very expensive

I'm definitely getting a lot more consistent but have niched down a bit this year but sales still a little hit and miss.
Maybe the items I have don't have a good sell through rate or are just not in demand.
In an ideal world id love to start again with no stock at all and use what I have learnt but don't think that's possible unless someone clears me out xd

Sales are pretty grim. One day lots of sales and you think great, then the next day next to nothing. My listings have risen from about 160 to 210 but I am only standing still.
Ebay at some point need to start concentrating on their business sellers but it seems we are simply being used as a source to fund their offers and free listings to private sellers.
The crumbs that do fall from the table are getting ever smaller I fear.

Cor! CDs r tough to shift because some sellers do 'em so cheap it's hard to compete...about £4 + free delivery.
They go as a large letter so there at least £1.80 + fees taken off...don't know how they do it, can't shift 'em to save my life at car boot lol

Depeche mode, Kate Bush, Aphex Twin etc can sell for £10 each.. Spice Girl, Rihanna, Didi etc you can't sell for love nor money 😂
