In scenario 4 , the patient is diagnosed with thrush and candidiasis,which are symptoms of HIV. Therefore it should be coded as Symptomatic Hiv patient ie B20,.... Hope this helps😊

Hello and thank you for all of your videos. They help me to understand so much! On Ex #4-the documentation does not state that the pt now has AIDS (or that HIV has now progressed to AIDS). It only states HIV+ asymptomatic. In your other videos, you make it very clear that if it is not documented we cannot code it. We cannot diagnose for the doctor. Only go by what is documented. Please advise as to how it was determined to be AIDS without the doctor's documentation? Thank you
