Electronic transitions occur in atoms and molecules due to the absorption or emission of electromagnetic radiation (typically UV or visible). The energy change associated with a transition is related to the frequency of the electromagnetic wave by Planck's equation, E = h𝜈. I'm learning the electrical engineering modules on their website. They have a different instructor that teaches with quality.
