Pressure doesnt/shouldn't score points. Half of Shakur's fights, sean vs. errol, and mayweather's fights should be judged differently by that logic. Like he said, he didnt establish no offense. Jab, body, nothing. Just peppering shots, looking for openings that he never found. And when he did open up, he got countered
If i m Canelo i m going right up to 175 cinco de mayo May next year and take on Beterbiev for all the belts becoming undisputed in one fight. Based off Arturs performance, hes slowing down and Canelo should take it.
@TarversTake Antonio I know and you know much better than me but I m just saying, Artur will be 40 by the time Canelo fights him ( that's if he fights him) and based on what I seen last Saturday...I did not see the same Beterbiev in there and that could've been due to Bivols great boxing but Arturs shots just had no crisp on it, the sauce wasn't there so that's why I m thinking if Canelo picks him up at 175 next year the fight may be closer than people think.
Tarver presented a measured balanced take. I agree with all his analysis. Bivol to an extent gave the fight away in the last 3 rds. Going into a defensive shell while letting Beterbiev punch away for 2 rds was a bad look. Bivol almost had it.
he didn't let beterbiev do anything. he was fighting to survive. amazing how people think fighters choose to lose as opposed to losing because of what theh other guy is doing!
@@dfage33 what? he didn’t let beterbiev do anything but fought to survive? Im not understanding your comment. Fighters, obviously depending on the specific circumstances, do and can give fights away. This was the case of Bivol boxing well, landing the cleaner punches while Beterbiev mostly plotted along following him. Arthur did cut off the ring well but his offensive flow was inconsistent. If Bivol would have closed strong and not make the tactical error of taking his foot off the pedal he could have won. Bivol would go into an uncustomary defensive shell and stay prone without countering. Yes Beterbiev hits hard but nearly none of his power punches landed cleanly. Bivol should have circled, used angles, counter and punch in between Beterbiev’s flurries more in the last 30 secs of each round. He didn’t. The judges obviously preferred pressure even if it was largely ineffective as determined by punch connect rate.
