    I've cracked 2 INR collector booster packs since launch, and I feel like I've been super lucky!
    The first pack had trad foil The Meathook Massacre, borderless trad foil Cultivator Colossus, retro NF Wedding Announcement, and retro NF Collective Brutality. The second pack had borderless (poster) trad foil Griselbrand, retro NF Emrakul, the Promised End, trad foil Deathcap Glade, and borderless NF Tireless Tracker. I am happy with these!
    Nice opening as always!

    Love the Avacyn retro frame. I was lucky to get one too. Really enjoyed this set. Opened 3 boxes and was very happy. 5 Eddie’s. Better box consistency than DMR by a wide margin.

    Hey, I'm new to magic, but I have a question i bought this box and am regretting it due to the price of singles you can buy every card in the set for less than the box the only exception is the edgar showcase why do these showcases hold no value but foundations showcases do !?

    • @DaGraveCrowder
      @DaGraveCrowder 9 днів тому +3

      You almost always open cards worth less than the value of any booster box you open. Typically, the card value is around 80% of the box price, but individual boxes vary. The reason for this is that a few rare boxes will contain cards whose value greatly outmatches the box price. Jackpot cards like serialized Edgar are usually the culprit behind this.
      What this means is that pack cracking is something you should do if you enjoy the gamble of opening random cards. The stakes are highest with collector boosters.
      If you want good value, it's a much better idea to just buy the individual cards you want from stores that sell trading cards.
      Cards also always plummet in value when a new set first comes out. They eventually stabilize and then slowly recover. Foundations has been out for a while now and so that recovery has had time to occur.
      I'm sorry to hear that you had a poor experience, but unfortunately, this is the nature of sealed booster products.

      Reprints versus new cards will fluctuate prices and time has a way of supplying enough product that most products will come down in price. It could also be the current player/collector mentality is overly hyped on certain versions of cards. Commander cards are sought-after for the bling of the commander more so than nonlegendary creatures. Standard folks generally stick to base model cards because of a playset needed. Keep watching and learning and that regret you feel could be managed into something positive. Buying a box for the investment is not advisable, being able to buy a case of boxes is more like it, if your having multiple avenues of deployed streams, video unboxing, etc, but you really need to push your product out the door asap as a whole. A few often played cards will keep their value or raise in price. Welcome to the machine

      Like the others mentioned, you're far more likely not to hit box price when opening sealed. The way I look at it, you need to go in knowing that, but it's a shot at the ultimate chase, in this case Edgar serialized. Will that shot payoff? Probably not. But I wanted to try. I also like the sentimental value I place on cards that I've pulled (or had pulled on video/stream) for those I add to the collection and don't sell. Plus opening packs is almost always a good time eh, even if it can come with a side of slight regret sometimes. Good luck

      Pro tip on Magic: When building decks ALWAYS, BUY, SINGLES! Never buy boxes. Ever. The *only* reason to buy a box is to fulfill your inner gambler. And it's fun, don't get me wrong! But you *WILL* lose money

      Lots of good comments in the replies.
      Regarding the question of “why do these showcases hold no value but foundations showcases do?”
      - The Foundations are roughly 1 per box. Innistrad is 2-3 non-foil and 1-2 foil.
      - Most of the Foundations also dropped a ton after initial release. It’s just the natural byproduct of product flooding the market.
      - Innistrad is 100% reprints. You’re injecting a supply (albeit in different treatments) of cards that already exist as opposed to cards that are still single printing. You’re generally going to get a large initial drop.
      While I don’t have a crystal ball… I think that the print run for Innistrad Remastered is probably pretty tight. We already have our next set coming in a couples of weeks. So we’re unlikely to see huge amounts of these cards flood the market. After supply dries up, many of the big hits should start to ascend in value again.

    I appears as though WOTC have been quite generous when it comes to the amount of "hits" in this product.....
    Pros and cons.

    • @WildcatMTG
      @WildcatMTG  9 днів тому +1

      I think they had to. I know a lot of people love the Innistrad plane but let’s be real, it’s not flush with value. So they loaded up the boxes with the big hits.
      I think the trade off is that the print run for the product will be pretty tight. The window for this product is pretty small. We’re already on the doorstep of the next set.
