If smartwatches were a thing in the early 2000s, they would support streaming those things. I mean they literally had a portable videoplayer that had a calculator screen.

Modern smartwatches can play video very easily. But they’re not officially allowed to do so because of their limited battery life.
I use my galaxy watch 4 to watch youtube sometimes. And the battery is good enough
