Beautiful princess seams on you, wowow I also love a hem ruffle 🥰 I think the altered sleeves were a great choice, the elastic at the end of the sleeve totally removes the costume look to me and is probably more wearable too
I'm a big fan of cottagecore-- definitely a Hobbit type person. I think I'm unused to wearing beige tones, but by adding some colors when I style it, I feel pretty happy with it. It's very comfy!
It’s so beautiful!!! I hate the feeling of shirring on my back so I think I’ll give this a go. I’ve been loving the son de fleur dresses which yours remind me of. I don’t think it looks frumpy but you could always add a fake placket and buttons to the front for a more modern look.
Thanks! It's very comfortable and won't catch on your skin or hair. I enjoy Son de Flor's aesthetics too, but they've never been in my budget. Beautiful brand though!
I like the dresss, looks comfortable 😻 the changes you made at the end improved the fit and yes definitely less frumpy. interesting shirring technique, I think I will try it. I have two grandchildren I can try it out on first 😊 Have you thought about putting a couple large folding tables together for a cutting/sewing table. Have one set up and pull the other out when you need a bigger surface, if you have the room of corse. I have my grandfathers old office desk. It’s not quite big enough for my large cutting mat 58x25in so I put a small extension on the back and I have two square sewing machine cabinets positioned on the end. It works 🤷🏼♀️ Idea for an ironing surface. I picked up an old dresser years ago. The drawers were missing but it was sturdy so I put it in the back of the truck🤭 it is waist high and a bit over four feet long. Cleaned and painted it, a friend cut boards for shelves inside. I padded the top and stapled a cover on it and it works wonderfully as a large ironing board and storage. We used leftover paint and wood scraps so the only cost was the padding. Just some ideas.
Yes, the plan is to DIY a better option, but at the moment I am working in the dining room because the downstairs of our house is much cooler than the upstairs room this time of year. And the upstairs room where I sometimes work is technically a guest room, so there is a bed taking up a lot of floor space... A good deal of rearranging is probably in my future!
I've seen that in the last few years, simple feminine dresses you can pull on over your head have been getting popular. This was my attempt at creating something with the features I like from those dresses without engaging in a fast fashion purchase.
Not frumpy at all, super cute
Thanks, I really like it
Pretty easy to watch video, interesting and informative enough that my ADHD ass didn't want to click away. Commenting for the algorithm!
Haha, I'm glad! Thanks for the engagement
This is super cute and inspiring. I feel your table space struggles. I'm so glad to see another upload 💖
I'm hoping to diy a better cutting solution eventually! But I'm glad this inspired you in some way
Beautiful work ❤ beautiful on you 🌺
Thank you for your kind words!

Thank you!
Yes, I needed to make the sleeves a little simpler. The hem ruffle still gives a nice amount of floof, though.
I don't feel it's frumpy, a bit cottage core maybe but that is a good thing usually. The finished dress should be very comfy and that is what counts.

I love this! Definitely going on my list for things to try! X
I hope you find the technique useful!
