Well, I loved this song when MercyMe first recorded it. Then I saw Wynona Judd's rendition and I loved that too. Now that I have heard Tamela Mann's rendition, I love the song even more.

The world does not understand that the anointing of God makes all the difference between a song containing true power to touch lives as opposed to some popular fad (genre of music) that has a temporary cult like following. I use temporary in the sense that those who are not in the Lord will jump from one popular artist to the next for their own emotional gratification. However they will never be fulfilled. Because they continue their rebellion against God. While those in the Lord are made whole by him including those he anoints to sing and share the gospel. No need to move from artist to artist because God fulfills every need of the believer. The world may see its pop music and rock music as influential, but without the anointing it is powerless to transform them. My perspective is comparative. God can use such a blessed artist like Tamela Mann to transform the broken hearted; this is something an artist of the world has no ability to do.

some of what you are saying is true. who are you to say who is of the world. only God knows ones heart. he sometimes puts individuals in places that man dont understand. we are sometimes too worried about those individuals that we lose focus of our own lives. I have plenty of friends that are artists of the world that can minister just like tam. like i said before they sometimes can reach souls that traditional Christians cant because they are too judgmental.

to all the artists who had their rendition of this song- from its creators " Mercy Me's" Bart Millard, the many Christian rock and gospel arts who have performed this song- much credit is due- This version is one of the best accompanied and produced version- in my opinion- not because of the sound or the acoustics- but because how I feel... I am not into the music- I am into praising God- so to that point I do like this version best- but to all those praising God with song - i believe they to are blessed and the mere fact that they are doing that- not singing, or the beat or tempo, but- praising- is the true point of making the Kingdom an little closer

I had a moment, a whole day really, I chose not to grieve when two very important people to me passed away and I had to be strong for my family.. but one day I passed my Aunt's grave on the way to work and lost control over all emotion and this song... this song meant so much to me and it gave me peace that surpassed all understanding.
