There will never be another car like these. I know im keeping mine forever
OOO I AM LOL
Glad I found this video bro! I just blew a front Airmatic strut getting gas last night and I am going to have to do this very soon. After a day of pricing and weighing my options and my intentions for the car and ended up ordering the whole BC Racing conversion and arms from FCP Euro and going to finish the suspension rebuild while I have it apart and I will try and sell off some of the components.
FCP great pic. I love my BC set up
glad the video can help
I am trying to make more people into Mercedes
Bro! I used your video to help install mine last year and it’s the best thing I did to the car! I always hated the psychotic marshmallow handling and now it actually ‘feels’ like a capable sports sedan now. I have a 77mm clutched pulley and RaceIQ tune from VRP along with a secondary intercooler and 010 Bosch pump upgrade. Parts are starting to get discontinued and I found one of the last sets of catted long tube headers available in the country and they will be here tomorrow. Mine is low miles with only 2 previous owners that always took it to the dealership for service so I am hoping to keep it for a very long time. I’m in my 50’s so my racing days are long behind me but I love flying under the radar in complete comfort with the ability to embarrass just about anything that pulls up on me. 😊 Keep making AMG content bro!
These airmatic shocks are the most unsporty, nasty looking things I have ever seen. It kind of makes me feel icky that that’s what’s handling the beast. Still my all time favorite car though.
Hi Adam, I got few questions. When you removed Airmatic via Star I noticed in the Special Equipment menu the top option "Memory" had value "Version 2". Today I tried to play with my car today and in my case "Memory" option has value "Not coded", and it doesn't allow me to proceed until I select either "Version 2" (if memory is present) or "Version 3" (if it's not present). I guess I need to set it to "Version 2" too. And for some reason in the same menu Navigation is also set to "Not coded". Idk why these two options are "Not coded". Also when I first looked at that rubber gasket located on the rear shock I didn't understand it's not a single gasket but it consists of two pieces that are both sitting on a single shaft. I guess you have to remove one gasket and install it from the top.
Fix this beast and keep it mint. Thanks for sharing
I AM HAPPY PEOPLE LIKE THE VIDEO AND LEARN A LITTLE
I am getting a slight creak/knock when going over some bumps and driveways. I suspect it being the added rear lower control arms but not sure…any ideas?? Sounds like the rear passenger side
Hi Adam. Great video/write up. I’m local (Orlando). I was wondering if I can pick your brain. I have a 2009 CLS AMG63 with a stage3 Weistec supercharger kit. Thanks in advance.
What do u need to know or want to race lol
@@Nd_72 would it be possible to take a call?
I installed the bc coilovers on mine but after a few days it started to clunk. Is yours the same?
Hi mate!
What’s your computer please? I want to convert my s211 e500, but I don’t want to have messages on the dash..
Do you know out to tricks it without computer like yours or not?
Thanks for answering man! 🙏🏼
Ooo I don’t know how to do it with out a star set up sorry
Fix it, I also have an 03 alabaster white E55! There aren’t many of them in that color!
YA I LIKE IT ALOT WHITE AND BLACK LOOK GOOD
Will these BC fit my 2005 e500 w211 Airmatic/4matic ..? Thanks man
don't think it will fit the 4matic
I ordered them already so I hope they do haha and also got both lower control arms.. installing them this Sunday but do I need to remove the air from all 4 airmatic or should they come out quite easily?
hi, are they maxed out already or it can go any more lower?
Ooo I had move to go down by a lot
@@Nd_72 ah i see, so you have another 1.5-2 inch to go?
@@jaypt00 I would say ya
What kind of lift is that?
Max jack
It is about 5 years old and love it
I bet the newer ones are even better
I just watched this one! Great video! Thank you for explaining lots of things including removing the warning using STAR. I got few questions: 1) Did you change the pre-load? Some say you need to make sure the spring on the coilover strut isn't loose and some recommend to slightly compress it. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I watched few other videos where they said this needs to be done for their BC coilovers where initially spring could even spin. 2) Do you think you need to install a sway bar(s) after installing these coilovers? 3) Please share your experience with such setup. I see come people religiously defend airmatic, some say coilovers is the right way to go, but it's unclear how ride quality changes after installing coilovers. Thank you.
Did the mess with the pre load on the e55 but did on the sl55
I have sway bars on my e55 but removed the front one on my Cls55
It is a good ride just need to play with it
@@Nd_72 Thank you! I think I'll start with CLS since it's easier than dealing with SL that has ABC tandem pump.
