Hi, very informative. I've a question - I've just replaced my backup battery because the sounder bell was going off when I had a power cut but this is still happening with the new battery. It seems like the new battery isn't being used by the alarm system but it's definitely connected correctly. I've also checked the internal fuses and there's an in-line fuse on the live wire to the battery. All 3 fuses look fine. What could be preventing the battery from kicking in when the power fails?
@Alarm Grid i recently purchased a wireless house alarm system. But i would like to install it in my van. It runs off a 5v adapter at 1000miliamps. Do you have any suggestions on how i can wire this up without draining my vans battery. Or maybe use a backup battery to run it from Thanks
Good info, thank you. Big freeze killed our power for over 24 hours and backup battery depleted but it recharged once power came back up. Saved me having to buy a new one (or try to recharge it).
Hi I wonder if you can help, I’m suspicious as our alarm went off for no reason, When I checked out side four other house alarms were sounding too, To much of a coincidence, have you an idea as to how this could happen ? Thanks Roy
Any battery I see that is larger than seven amp power has F2 connectors not F1 I would need to convert the connectors would I not? Thank you for your response.
We had a power cut the other day and ever since the front door sensor and other Motion sensors go off when passed by even if the alarm is isn’t set, when someone leaves the house we have to turn the main electricity off then put in the code for the alarm and the noise stops but then a beep every minute starts to happen and all the sensors are active again. We have the indoor sensors covered up so they don’t go off but we have to repeat this everytime the front door opens and we aren’t sure what’s wrong with it and can’t call anybody out to look at the moment. Any chance you can help?
@Gary appreciate the help sir, do I delete the zones using the panel? If so I’ll give it a try but not sure if it will work because as of right now the panel doesn’t work, it works when the mains are switched back on but once the code is put in the panel doesn’t register anything
