This is an improvised piano piece which I then later orchestrated. It breathes like the sea, and has musical swells and pulses. Mainly it is for piano, oboe and strings, with Spanish guitar incidentals! The oboe especially gives it the evocative sense of longing I wanted to describe.
Longing for what, though?
Well, at the more obvious level for love, connection and validation, but the feeling goes beyond that. It's a longing to realise fully that I live inside God, and that God lives inside me.
I am already loved, accepted and validated by God, as we all actually are, but the task is for our fragile ego to allow that to be realised; to purify our vessel so that we can accept this level of love, and feel worthy of it.
The truth is that we all have an angel who helps and supports us in this task, invisibly, and without any need of reward. What's more there are group souls of angels who can 'advise' each other as to how best to help.
Angels operate at a supernatural level which transcends logic and time & space, so they can arrange mysterious synchronicities to both help us and protect us. It defies logic how this can be choreographed for 8 billion souls!
It needs faith to align with it, more than reason, but things go better if we believe even without understanding. The eminent psychologist C.G. Jung had this epithet hung above the door to his room: "Bidden or not bidden, God is present".
It is the same with all the hierarchies above human level; they exist, whether we believe or not, but things go better if we don't deny, protest, doubt or dismiss. Simple, child-like faith is a natural and pure starting point.
Below the human level, in terms of consciousness evolution, is the animal, plant & mineral kingdom. These dimensions have great power, and with animals instinctual wisdom. But the human being has a unique reflective capacity that allows us to be consciously aware of spiritual reality, instead of just instinctively aware.
We also have free-will with which to choose; to deny or to align. (Ambivalence is a 'no'; 'no' or 'don't know' is a 'no'; only 'yes' is a 'yes'!)
So the 4 visible levels of existence in time and space are mineral; plant; animal & human. Directly above us is the angelic realm; the first of the invisible realms (to ordinary cognition). We can't ordinarily see angels but they exist. Neither can we see electricity or wind, but we have no trouble believing in them!
Angels help individuals become conscious of: 1) Spiritual reality, and 2) Our unique life task.
Above the angels are the archangels, who guide nations and folk-souls. A nation's geography, language, climate, and world task is determined by archangels, and each folk-soul also has a unique contribution to make to the bigger picture.
Above the archangels are even higher beings, up to the cherubim, seraphim and beyond; all the way top the One God. These are the mechanisms of the Divine; the Lego bricks!
The cherubim & seraphim are also known as the spirits of form and time. They are responsible for our actual human, organic construction; our senses; body organs; place in the zeitgeist; karma and so on. All of these forces operate invisibly in and around us.
Awareness of this is a game-changer, in terms of consciousness and evolution. We are not a body which houses a spirit (or not, if you are a spirit-denier), but a spirit which houses a body.
And this in turn is a game-changer in terms of egoic reality. If our ego wholly believes itself to be the centre of everything, that is SUCH a disconnection and illusion that it brings about ALL the world's ills; neurosis; psychosis; addictions; dependencies; confining attachments; narcissism; disease and death itself; war; conflict; inflation and so on.
We simply argue and fight about differing materialistic illusions, and call them politics, religion, health, education, art etc.
Sensitive souls can find it easy to perceive the subtle realms, especially artists, and depict them in art, so as to awaken others to this expanded sense of reality.
It is a faculty within reach of everybody; these are inner 'muscles' that can be trained and disciplined to perceive what may ordinarily be invisible. We can grow inner organs of perception (inner eyes & ears) to perceive the higher realms.
The discipline involves faith; purification and constancy. We need to detox to increase our chances of subtle sight, and so eliminate unhealthy food, drink, substances and information that we take in (including fake news and false cultural conditioning).
So what is an example of an angel watching over you?
Here are 3: 1) A creative intuition (that our ego might claim as its own); 2) an obstacle that can later be seen as a catalyst, or 3) a synchronous meeting that we should take as a direct message.
