In this video, I show you how to enable animated GIFs on Twitch. As the BetterTTV Chrome Extension will improve your viewing experience on Twitch I would highly recommend it, and also it's completely free.
[UPDATE] Since creating this guide, Twitch has added it's own animated emote feature, but people still use BetterTTV too.

thanks man, helped me out a lot! I, for some reason, thought that it had something to do with my computer processor capacity. But, turns out I was wrong. And the extension also have many other interesting utilities.

All animated emotes did work for me on the mobile app and tv but from one to next day it stopped working at mobile app and tv. They say it’s not supported but then why did it work for me? Then it means it should be possible? And some emojis I don’t see and other people where using the mobile app see them, it give no sense
I have this enabled, and I see all the betterttv emotes and gifs. But how do I use them myself? They don't show up in the emote list. And there is no other emote bar for them. How do I get to use em?
I need to type the commands in the chat. For example you might see a lot of people typing "sourPls" that's a bettertv emote, and only people with the emote see it as emotes, the rest would see it as text.
@@Mithrie I saw a video where someone got an extra emote button on their chat. One had Twitch emote, the other had BetterTTV emotes. This is gone and you need to type the name in?
me and my mate both have had emotes, gifs and frakerface emotes enabled for a few weeks and gifs like catJAM still dont work for us. any reason?
It might be worth checking if you've enabled frankerz emotes fully. If you have and it still doesn't work, it's probably work talking to their support for help.
It doesn’t let me change any chat setting so I still can’t see a lot of emotes.

I'm not sure if there's one for iOS. I found this app for Android: ua-cam.com/video/A1DGucqA9b8/v-deo.html - it might give you an idea of what to look for.

How can i do this on mobile? I dont even get the option in my settings I checked appearance and all like google said but its not there
Not sure if you can, it would probably involve an app download if it was a thing but its not something I've done.
I have everything enabled but I can't se the emotes moving, thei are just a still picture.

I searched and it seems if you donate $5 you can increase the limit to 50 - www.frankerfacez.com/donate
I have added BTTV and added the emotes. How do I use them though?
You just type them in the chat such as "PepeLaugh nymnCorn" If the addon is working they will appear as emotes. If not they will just be text.

When I open chat settings Better TTV sub-menu doesnt show up
If you just installed the extension you probably need a refresh. Try CTRL + F5 for a forced refresh. F5 alone can still rely on cached content. Hope that helps.

Sorry for the late reply. Sometimes you need to do a hard refresh after you install a new addon. CTRL + F5 in the browser can clear your cache for an individual site.
Does this work for stream labs OBS?
I found this tweeted by them "To enable BTTV emotes go Settings > then click Appearance. You'll see an option to enable BTTV emotes. Let us know if that resolves your issue!" hope it helps.

Not sure you can, though I'm not sure if the new twitch animated emotes work there either. Let me know if you find out.
Its not on the settings yet, but im so tired seeing "LULW, OMEGALUL" in the chat when i watch a stream

clicking on the better ttv setting doesnt take you to the option, you'd think giving a tutorial.... you might actually teach something...
It's possible it's changed since the video was made, also now there is built in animated Gif emotes. Watch your tone with your next comment.
