omg the bit about sleeping on it when learning something new that feels awkward is excellent advice! I'm just starting out with poi and when I was learning the 3 beat weave I got the forward aspect pretty quick but doing it backwards [spinning upwards] I was having a tough time getting it not to feel weird. I literally had a dream where I was spinning the poi freely and the feeling was imprinted in my brain or something because the next morning I started practicing and I gave it a go and just like that with little effort I was doing the 3 beat backwards. Little bits at a time goes a long way

This is so important. It gives you so much ability to transition freely

I love the rooster and the doggie. Nick your techniques are always so refined. Thanks for sharing your skills and presence. So many options from such simple moves. I better get practicing. :)

Wow so much help! Thanks Nick I've learnt so much from watching you in the last three weeks I went from struggling with even same time arm cross overs to doing 4 beat fountains 5 beat weaves and all sorts but I didn't realise how much I struggle with this haha I still don't understand wall plane buzz saws and isolations how does that work?

I'm going to be teaching teens poi this summer in CA (outside of course) but you've truly given me tons of new tricks! You're amazing and I love the chickens in the background. I also have dreams about spinning. My arms hurt ugh!!! I learned a little bit when I was young cuz I was born in New Zealand. Dadadadadadadada :) Lame songs work BTW
