I don’t have a greenhouse or a Polly tunnel. I live in USA state of Wyoming. I am ordering seeds today. The temperature is -25 degrees F. Looking forward to the growing season. 🙏🙏🙏

Glad the damage wasn't worse. We live in Missouri USA and had some rough weather but thank goodness no wind damage. Worst this year was the frost free proof cattle water tank couldn't handle the extremely frigid temperatures. What is the temperature in your tunnel?

I really don't understand people's obsession with landscape fabric. It leaches loads of chemicals into the soil, which then get taken up by the plants, which people then eat! I used sheep's wool from Chimney Sheep (not sponsored!) to set up my no dig beds as I'm trying to eliminate all plastic from my interactions with food - be it growing it, storing it, or eating it, and I can't recommend it enough! The thick wool mats don't contaminate the soil, are fabulous at killing off grass and weeds, and have the added bonus of feeding the soil with lots of lovely nitrogen and aerating heavy soils as they break down. It's expensive but if you buy in bulk the company give a generous discount, plus you're supporting our sheep farmers.

It is a temporary soulution to cover one acre of ground to control the weeds until it has been cultivated, this area has never been cultivated it’s farmland, I have used sheep’s fleece before with some success on small areas, if I was to lay over this area it would get ripped out by the wind sheep’s wool works great in our gate ways to reduce erosion but not as a weed suppression over a large area.

I have looked into the cost of the wool mats you suggested they estimated £12,000 I do not have £12,000 to throw away on ground cover but I am pleased to see you do have that sort of money to support sheep farmers
