Jeremy,I've been hunting Public land for 42yrs and water accessing most of my hunts been using a 14ft jon boat for most but like last year they dropped the water futher than i have ever seen in Tn a raft or kayak would be the way to go on those situations. This is the first time ever commenting on Social media i usually fly under the radar especially with my hunting locations i enjoy watching like minded individuals such as yourself and your hunting style

    LOVE your content!

The gheenoe is by far the best in my opinion, lightest and most versatile. You can drag it, paddle it, or motor it with a heavy payload in the skinniest of water.

I agree with aluminum boat I haul a kayak in mine to get more remote unloading kayak in feeder creeks off river channels. But a cold boat ride will make the weather of the day way warmer lol.

Thanks for sharing your boat setups. I use a 12 foot aluminum v hull with an 8 HP outboard for the majority of my hunts. It’s great for navigating rivers with low to mild current. It’s great to be able to drag my deer and drop them into the boat and take off. My other setup is a 10 foot sit on top kayak for small streams with low current, and when I know there are no boat landings available. Using a kayak is also quiet so it makes it easier to sneak into spots with little noise. The con would be weight capacity, low storage space and a potential for flipping.

    Cons
When bow hunting oxbows in rivers with high river banks behind the oxbow the deer setup so the back draft from the opposite river bank side on a mid wind day alerts the bedded deer I’m paddling up or down the river. Some bedding areas are nearly bullet proof with a water approach and other areas that run straight N/S or W/E water access makes the difference. Bigger river systems you can get away with a lot more that smaller tighter skinny water situations I have found

You should try a sun dolphin plastic tunnel
    Motor on front or rear
    Very sturdy
    Ive use mine for years
Floats and runs very shallow I run a 5 hp on rear n a 55 lbs thrust on front
I put in the back of my truck
You can put on a trailer
    Works great I think!!

I really like my little 12 foot flat bottom , its wide and ive got a little gas motor on it an electric for backup of course rhe oars too last resort. I can put it in the back of my pickup with one ratchet strap and im good to go. But not really a big water boat do pros and cons to them all good video brother.

I run a 12 ft monarch aluminum flat bottom with a mercury 9.9. It runs about 20 max with all my gear. It small enough i can get pretty shallow. I run rivers and lakes mostly with it. Love your content. Found your channel and have been binge watching.

I have 20 ft seaark cc . Sold my 17 ft triton that looks kind of #1. I had a gehnoo and sold it as quickly as I could because it’s too tippy! I hated it! I would like another Jon only if it has a 4 stroke.
Out of your arsenal boat 1 is the only one I personally would fool with!
I believe a tunnel hull boat might be the ticket!
One more thought is safety! I ran tiller motors for 30 + years on the water in the dark! When it’s cold your hands really get to stinging and the orientation of your body in the boat can make it difficult to spot dead heads. If you have a steering wheel at least both eyes are forward and my opinion much safer!

Lifelong resident of N.E. Arkansas, Delta region, flat ground. I hunt 💯 Public Land, WMA’s, all swamps. I use a Canoe 🛶 but does not have a Transit for a motor. I have been searching for a Canoe with a Transit for a small motor. The 3 WMA’s that I hunt consist of thousands upon thousands of acres, all bow hunting only, no Gun hunting allowed. 5 full months of season starting the last Saturday in September (regardless of date) through February 28th, no breaks. 6 Deer total but only 2 Bucks allowed for the entire season. Must have 3 points on one side to be legal. Blessed to have that much land to hunt, with Bow Hunting only allowed. The Canoe is extremely quiet but being 62 years old, paddling any distance is getting rougher. I will be running a Mud Motor if I find a big enough Canoe with a transit. Enjoy all your Videos. Top notch Channel. Keep it coming.

I have an Old Towne single seater canoe. 11'9", 56 lbs, so it's easy to take on and off of my truck topper. Sit low like a kayak so it's real stable. Pretty tight for cargo room in front and back but I have had a buck and my deer cart in the front and my bow and pack in the back. Sits damn low fully loaded but gets it done it flat water.
I mainly use it in small rivers and creeks but have used it on small lakes on a few occasions.
Pretty tough for a morning hunt when the beaver are slapping their tails on the water at you all the way to your spot. 🦫
