@@Jesussaves8961 Gentlemen, a short view back to the past
Gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to start my car like a computer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the race - I don’t remember what race - he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you both: is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers?
Oh my god.. really?
Amazing that a sensory experience once only available to the wealthy class in China can now be shared and loved by almost everyone in the world. I worry sometimes that we treat music as cheap and disposable because it is so freely available, when it still takes passion and mastery to create.
thepeacefish I like your comment it stirs up curiousity in me and gratitude. I saw these instruments being played in movies like Kung fu hustle and red cliff which i found to be fascinating on how they where used in a deep reflective and emotional expression, which transports you into another time and culture.
Well said guys I agree

@@brendancwc6188 you're wrong
@@brendancwc6188 the koto is an instrument that is derived from the Guzheng. The various chinese cultures had a massive impact on the entire south-east asian sphere so many instruments, foods, weapons and customs can be traced back to there.
Apart from the sound, you can usually tell by the number of strings. While 21 string Kotos exist, a regular Koto will usually only have 13 or 17 strings while modern Guzheng start at 21 strings upward.
Apart from that, speaking music alone, the melody is very chinese.

That is the truest thing I have seen all day. People tend to forget that China has been through 4,000 years of history and culture. Nowadays people tend to connect to things communism and knockoffs. It's really sad. ):

A SPRING EVENING, ACCOMPANIED BY THE RIVER, THE FLOWERS, THE MOON
Originally by 【Tang Dynasty】 Zhāng Ruòxū
Translation by MIRANDAJHJ2022
The spring river rises and falls, blending in with the ocean
A bright moon peaks out, surging with the waves
Waves shimmer under the moonlight, stretching into the distance
The moon and the spring river accompany each other
The river wraps around the vegetation filled plains, flowing
Flowering bushes refract the gentle moonlight, covering every surface
The real fog is hidden by the fog of light, blending into one
The white, fine sand on the beach melts into the moonlight, seamless
The sky and the water become one shade, not a grain of disturbance
It is lonely, yet the moon hangs in the sky, brightly shining
Who was the first to see the moon by the river?
When did the moon above the river first shine upon us?
Generations of people come and go, never-ending. Yet
The moon shines brightly each year, like it always has
We do not know who the moon is waiting for
We can see the flowing river, sending water far away
Like parting clouds, young travellers disappear over the horizon
They leave behind only the sorrow of women waiting for their return
Which traveller is leaving by boat today, floating into the distance?
In which room is she, the one who is thinking about him?
I pity the shifting and ever-present moon, like the sorrow of those waiting
Shine upon their desks, the moon should, take away their sorrow
The sorrow, it refuses to leave their curtains
The sorrow, it refuses to leave their clothing boards
We are both watching the moon, but I cannot hear your voice
I wish to follow the moon so I can shine on you as well
The wild geese fly non-stop, but they will never leave the moonlight
The fish and the dragons jump out of the water every now and then, leaving ripples
Last night, flower petals kissed the surface of pond water in my dreams
How unfortunate that spring is already half gone, yet I cannot return home
The river flows on, with it goes the remainder of spring
Above the river, the moon is descending westward again
The tilted moon slowly descends, hiding behind the mist
There is a long distance to go, seemingly endless
We don’t know how many people can return before the moonlight runs out
Only the moon rocks with longing, lighting the forests by the river

I love how dynamic this instrument sounds! Its like if a piano and a harp had a baby together. That's the best way I can describe the music this instrument produces.
Yes, its contains piano 🎹 string sounds rite
But it appeared 2000 years earlier than the piano
@@burkardt4531 They didn't say a piano & a harp literally had a baby lol. They just used the figure of speech to describe how the sound is like the sound of a piano & the sound of a harp
Psychedelic sounding
play this on piano its horrible, play this on harp its horrible, this can only be played this beautifully only on this instrument. thats why its unique.
When I was 14 I swam the length of the San Marcos river in Texas early in the morning. I happened upon largemouth bass, lots of turtles, and randomly deer drinking water. The first breath of the river the ripples of the current were moderate and at some places I passed tons of duckweed and floated at the top to keep from getting tangled. Then there were beavers slapping their tails to alert my presence. I saw egrets flying overhead. Below some snakes. The ripples of the water was music to my ears. I passed by fishermen in their boats as I swam against the current. I waved to one because he was my uncle. He knew I was supposed to be at school but kept quiet and softly said hi, (so as not to disturb the fish). Not too much further down the gators we’re sleeping under the second overpass. Then I came to the dark waters of the whirlpools. I stayed clear of the embankments so as not to be drawn in. More egrets looking at me. This is where you cannot see the water below and the chill of dead souls lingers as though something bad happened there long ago that only the river remembers. I walk out the shallow water under the third overpass. another uncle is netting crawdads for bait. He says, girl your supposed to be in school. I dig into my shirt and a couple of small fish are stuck in there and throw them into his bucket. I hope you catch something I say as I walk up the embankment past the waterfall and swim to the other side. Lovers are staring at the water as college boys swing off of a rope and summersault into the river. I pass the concrete bridge to the little island and dive in and catch a baby turtle the size of a small potato. The sun filters through the water. In the oxygen bubbles and the coolness of the water against the warmth of the sun I am happy.
Thank you sincerely for the beautiful music that helps me remember all those moments.
as a fellow texan, this melted my heart. thanks for sharing your remembrances of our beautiful home!
Why th would you swim in gator-infested waters?
A Moonlit Night On The Spring River by Zhang Ruoxu
In spring the river rises as high as the sea,
And with the river's rise the moon uprises bright.
She follows the rolling waves for ten thousand li,
And where the river flows, there overflows her light.
The river winds around the fragrant islet where
The blooming flowers in her light all look like snow.
You cannot tell her beams from hoar frost in the air,
Nor from white sand upon Farewell Beach below.
No dust has stained the water blending with the skies;
A lonely wheel like moon shines brilliant far and wide.
Who by the riverside first saw the moon arise?
When did the moon first see a man by riverside?
Ah, generations have come and pasted away;
From year to year the moons look alike, old and new.
We do not know tonight for whom she sheds her ray,
But hear the river say to its water adieu.
Away, away is sailing a single cloud white;
On Farewell Beach pine away maples green.
Where is the wanderer sailing his boat tonight?
Who, pining away, on the moonlit rails would learn?
Alas! The moon is lingering over the tower;
It should have seen the dressing table of the fair.
She rolls the curtain up and light comes in her bower;
She washes but can't wash away the moonbeams there.
She sees the moon, but her beloved is out of sight;
She'd follow it to shine on her beloved one's face.
But message-bearing swans can't fly out of moonlight,
Nor can letter-sending fish leap out of their place.
Last night he dreamed that falling flowers would not stay.
Alas! He can't go home, although half spring has gone.
The running water bearing spring will pass away;
The moon declining over the pool will sink anon.
The moon declining sinks into a heavy mist;
It's a long way between southern rivers and eastern seas.
How many can go home by moonlight who are missed?
The sinking moon sheds yearning o'er riverside trees.
Chen where's the flower meaning in the title name?

they were also really advanced during middle ages time.
and also romantic, they are master of bittersweet stories
Its sad that everybody thinks all Chinese people eat dogs or cats or insects.
I go to China quite often and I usually eat at least one of those during my stay.
It is sad that people who don't even know where their own food comes from are so interested in where other people's food comes from. Insects may be one of the key foods of he future.
K Ryu
The culture is different even in different parts of Britain.
I've had cat in China; civet cat at least, which is an animal with cat in its name. Tigers are occasionally in the news for appearing on the menu in China too, so it's a little misleading to say no Chinese eat cats.
Dogs are eaten far beyond Guangdong too. I've had dog dishes in both Nanning and Liuzhou cities in Guangxi province and have seen it available in Sichuan and Yunnan too.
Guangdong even had a bit of a human baby eating problem at one point just a few years ago, if we must make a list.
Many insects are excellent food. They're just a subset of arthropods, which also includes shrimps among other things. I've only had them pickled in high strength spirits though in China. These are quite commonly available, so insects *are* much more routinely consumed in China than you imply.
You're right about the variety of food. Guangxi province alone has more dishes than I could try in a life time. Even Nanning city alone probably does.
Ancient China sure had musical instruments - beautiful musical instruments.
The China today still have them :)
I have ever seen a antique Guzheng at Tianjin, the workmanship was superb and it looked beautiful.
ua-cam.com/video/ujzMHLac404/v-deo.html
Many of the pieces they play today on these instruments date back to the Tang Dynasty, c. 900 AD. We even have notated scores for some pieces on manuscripts from that time. :)
jake hobbs My, such unrefined ears. Those whom enjoy this only know the peak of this instrument's peaceful and calming trance.
I grew up with this music and i am in my seventies now and it still touches my heart.
How ignorant I am. I occasionally heard music like this in restaurant and never paid attention neither did I realize what a polished execution I was probably listening to because I didn't know anything about these kind of instruments. I never thought it could be someone else's classical music.
+KremIsis I've never heard music of this quality in restaurants as far as I can remember.
andramoie I might as well have never listened to this kink of music before, but, since I'm completely ignorant in their tradition, I cannot swear on it. I guess people are people; most of them will put on the charts, but someone plays Petrucciani or Bach in the background. So, statistically, speaking, I don't know!
+KremIsis we are all ignorant, ignorance is never ending, there is no infinity of ignorance as there is no beginning of wisdom, nor ending of wisdom, as there is no infinity of sight nor ending blindness...alas! life.

Lol im high right now and watching this beautiful piece of art
it has such a pretty sound.. it looks so complicated to learn tho (':
Is similar to a guitar
it's made under the 12356 pentatonic scale law, like most of Chinese traditional instruments. Every string is fixed in a certain pitch of note, you pull the string with your right hand to make it sound, and to the left of the saddles press the string with your left hand in case you need vibrato or a note out of the pentatonic scale, e.g., 4, 7, etc. So generally speaking it's easy to play in comparison with many other instruments.

Rouxu Zhang, a poet back in Tang Dynasty. Although he wrote a few poems during his lifetime, this one distinguished him from other peer poets. We are actually required to recite the full poem during the high school.
Not only is the music itself extremely beautiful. I'm enchanted by the beautiful movements of her feminine hands as she gracefully moves her fingers with elegance. This is pure art in the highest form.

It also sounds like something you would hear in a Chinese garden-like setting or near a smooth flowing river
Whilst watching the full moon light shining the plum blossoms, the air is clean, the vicinity quiet, a panda can be seen from a distance, from your second floor balcony.
the name itself is full of poetic rhythms, too bad no other language in this world can convey so much like the chinese characters
Please explain
Arabic can convey much more. For example, there are 12 million words in arabic compared to english with only 600 thousand. And another point, the world “love” has 23 different words in arabic.
@@mabjazplayz272 well you can also have fewer words if you describe the things better and get the same result with the only difference is the amount of words you used
There is no language that can express more than others, all languages are equally expressive. Some have a long literary tradition and a classical language like Chinese, Arabic or Greek, others have only been attested for 200 years or so (like Lithuanian) but that doesn't make them less expressive. It also doesn't depend on the number of words.
The 12 million number is ridiculous anyway, this myth is based on an article by a guy who tried to calculate all the possible roots in Arabic, i.e. it includes a large amount of roots that don't exist. If you look at the number of words in Arabic dictionaries, you'd get a more reasonable number of 200.000 words. But counting the words of a language is not as straightforward as it seems: do you count earlier forms of the language (Old and Middle English for example) or just the modern form? Do you count rare words that are only attested once or twice? Do you include all the different dialects? Basically, it's impossible to come to an objective answer. And in the end, it doesn't even matter because no one uses or knows all of those words anyway. Even Shakespeare, who made use of an unusually large vocabulary in his works only used 30.000 words. And they were more than enough to express the depths of human psychology.
Mabjaz Playz no matter how many words you have in the end it’s still phonetic alphabets compare to Chinese characters which conveys imagery
This song's english name is Spring River and Flowers in the Moon Light
it is name of poet of china

Translation:
Spring Moonlight Night
Zhang Ruoxu
The spring tide is accompanied by the sea level, and the tide is on the sea.
With the wave thousands of miles, where no spring moon!
The river flow turns around Fangdian, and the moonlight forests all look like a ripple;
The dripping cream wasn't felt flying, and Ting's white sand was invisible.
Jiang Tian's color is not dusty.
Who sees the moon on the river? Jiang Yuehe shines at people at the beginning of the year?
Life has been infinite for generations, and Jiang Yue looks similar in the years to come.
I do not know who Jiangyue will be, but see the Yangtze River to send water.
The white clouds will go long and the green maple will be overwhelming.
Whose boat is tonight? Where is Acacia Moon Tower?
Poor upstairs on the moon, should leave the makeup mirror.
The Yuhu curtain won't go through and the anvil on the anvil will come back.
At this time, they did not hear each other and would like to visit each other on a monthly basis.
The geese fly in long distances, and the dragon dive leaps into the water.
Last night, the dream of idling in the lake fell, and the poor spring half did not return home.
The river flows to the end of spring, and Jiangtan falls to the west.
Oblique moon heavy sea fog, Yanshi Xiangxiang Infinity Road.
I do not know how many months to return home, falling moon rock full of trees.
Oblique moon heavy sea fog, Yanshi Xiangxiang Infinity Road.
I do not know how many months to return home, falling moon rock full of trees.

Great music, suitable for paper times :)
I like Chinese's traditional culture.
Thank you, playing Guzheng could be fun you know. Playing Koto and Gayanggeum are also pretty fun.
TC94 가야금 kayageum or gayageum (the first is better)
surivanoroc
There is so much depth and richness to this music, far more than western music.
Guzheng music is pure and honest.
Thank you for your appreciation of Guzheng. I have played Guzheng since I was 9. I think western music also can touch people and have its depth in it, just by different ways. I love them all.
can smell the flowers...from catbackbridge over springriver in the opallight of the moon
the bambus is rushing...and a softly wind goes by.....
PETER LUNAU you got it.
Count Roy obviously she’s using translator, she is using the traditional Chinese which us not used in China
Although I'm vietnamese I must say china has a great culture. Love the Guzheng.
Greetings from France 🇫🇷
Oh un français
Absolutely stunning ! I sat transfixed .... i was transported to this beautiful quiet place .. a small river gurgled down below some where ..a full moon night above me ..and a gentle fragrant breeze.wafted across the valley ... wonderful . Thank you so much for sharing.
A beautiful melody and an interesting instrument. It seems dificult to play but I wish I could try few notes. I respect all the talented musicians around the world and you are one of them :D
Greetings from Spain ~~
The most beautiful stringed instrument I've ever heard, and the right person in the hands of it, I am musical myself, but not as good as you are. I could go to sleep to this melody, you are so good at it and I think it's really cool how you can also change the tone of each note on each string.
WildGrizz Salute for the great Chinese culture...
To think that this music is 1,300 years old... wow. Art and beauty are eternal. Real gold never loses its shine.
this piece is around 200 years at most. actually most Chinese "classical" music we hear today are fairly modern.
@@lllsofia6210 I was specifically replying to the comment that this piece was 1300 years old. perhaps I should use "ancient" instead of classical in my reply
i always thought this kind of music was multiple instruments. im so glad i found this video!
and what incredible talent! thank you very much for playing for us
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful piece of music! As a musician, I have grown to appreciate many types of music from different countries, and this is the perfect example of a deep and rich cultural tradition as well as mastery in the playing as well. I feel enriched having heard and seen this performance.
As I listened to this song, a whole story was played in my head! And I can say, that it was a sad, and beautiful story. The moral of the story was a generous emperor who caught a boy sneaking in to listen to the music. The emperor came to like the boy, but during some events, the emperor’s subordinate killed the boys mom. The subordinate was cast out, and the boy, filled with rage, was taken in by the emperor, and he was taught amazing swordsmanship from the best that they had. The boy trained harder and harder, until he back the beat there, and was able to beat anyone in sparring. After the emperor died, due to unknown causes, the boy, now man, went to find his mother’s killer. Eventually finding the killer, the two had a beautiful, amazing, empowering sword fight, that ended with the killer’s death. The boy, now man, returned, having killed his mother’s killer to pray to his mom and his friend the emperor. What happens after this I don’t know, that was the end of the song. It was an AMAZING STORY, if only you guys could have saw what I saw.
Wait how did this appear in your head?
what the fuck mate
@@kongweiying3892 imagination my friend.
There was this one time when I was driving my truck down an alley in Chinatown in San Francisco in the 80's and I asked this lady for directions, she was playing a similar song in her apartment. Next thing I know, a funeral procession comes out and all hell breaks loose. Where has the time gone?
Lovely..Blisssful..Beautiful music..amazing culture ..Respect from India..!!
Kedar Kulkarni Thanks for appreciating our culture .. India culture indeed also has awesome musical instruments , just like us ;)

I will never get over how beautiful Chinese Instruments sound
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful beautiful ❤️❤️ music with us...I feel like I'm in heaven...❤❤❤
You should imagine when you are listening Chinese ancient music. Just imagine the moon ,the flowers under the moonlight, the sound of the river flow, and then you will understand the meaning of this song.
Everything about this river is beautiful. It pulls in every sound and makes harmony of it. I just can't get over how even the beep of the timer, the keys being set down, a gentle thud of wood in the background (a chair?), all the human sounds gather around this stream, to become an ensemble.
And even I get to be one of the millions to listen in? Thank you forever. May this spring river never end.
A wonderful music. Very good. Greetings From germany.
The Guzheng and violin are my favourite instruments. But the Guzheng is so complex and emotional. Tears.
This is the first time I have heard a guzheng instrument. I enjoyed it!
I randomly saw this instrument and now i’m reslly obsessed with it, it’s so beautiful and it’s really calming
This made me tear up, I probably have the least amount of connection to this history of the humans who created this instrument, but I feel like my ancestors or past family speaks to my soul through this sound. Unbelievable. I WILL teach myself how to play these strings.
Maybe in your previous life you a an court official in some of Chinese dynasties.
Did you learn the instrument?!
Beautiful song 🎵 ❤️ respect 🙏 🫡 👏 thank u my heart ❤️ 💙 💜 uk Manchester England 🏴 🇬🇧 ❤️ lovely song
Oh my God that instrument makes absolutely beautiful sounds, and played by someone so graceful and elegant just sends the magic to 11 🥰
The timbre of Chinese instruments are by far my favorite in the music world. The guzheng, erhu, pipa, sheng... they have such beautiful, emotive timbres that I wish I could play all of them. Lol, maybe I will some day. Thanks for the amazing video
And "guqin"

yeah this one moved me to tears, and i am normally a metalhead. speaks for the quality of the music i guess. thank you for this performance
Same here, metalhead and all. This music is from heaven 🥲
Is this piece based on the Tang Poem "Spring River in the Flower Moon Night"?
Yes, it is
Omg u know that!? Yes it is! Because back then, poems were usually lyrics.
the title is actually “spring, river, flower, moon, and night” its confusing even for native speakers but you dont combine them together
kinglhz That’s interesting, thanks for the extra info. When I read it, the title had been changed to, “a moonlit night on the spring river”.
No, on Bai Ju Yi's Lady's Pipa Play.
Dim sum
Music therapy at its finest, OH all those rich musical notes
almost ten years ago,how time flies!
As time passing us, I am not sure anymore if we are wittnessing the sound or the sound observing us through.

This is next level beautiful
I always come back to this every few months
Listened to this wonderful song since 20,000 views and now it's 1,662,703!
I've always wanted to have a Guzheng for collection and also because of how calming and elegant the music that can be produced by it...
Reminds me of my country's, Latvia's, national instrument, the Kokle. A bit of a different sound, but structured similarly. Asian music is so beautiful
this is simply beautiful. so mysterious and powerful that i feel like i've traveled back in time, i can almost feel the Tang dynasty.
I remember playing one of these. It was Relaxing and my mom would always love to wake up in the morning just to hear the soft Music Notes in the early morning. Too bad my broke 3 years ago, i never got a new one. but i am planning on getting a new one tho.
good luck
how about now, can u play it for us?
Guzheng players are very talented , simply because it is very hard to mastery , salute
Awesome ♥️
Music is a universal language. thank you for this you talented people.
I play traditional germanic instruments (tagelharpas and kravik lyres) however the beauty of traditional chinese instruments is enough to move me to tears. I will never touch one of these instruments out of respect for the culture and the poetry it embodies. This music is deeply tied to time and place. However, I, like many others, can recognise beauty when I see and hear it. Be proud of your heritage and express yourselves fully. 🙌
I’m here bc it was a school assignment to pick a random country and listen to their music and I didn’t expect this. This is amazing!
I really like the sound of Guzheng. It is soothing and peaceful.
one of the TOP 10 classic in China.
I love to hear this even over and over, thanks i can hear it on youtube whenever i want,i don't get tired with this
Absolutely stunning. I hope the Guzheng picks up more traction around like world like the Sitar did in the 60's. Traditional Chinese music is beautiful. It would be so cool if other genres took inspiration from that and if more artists experimented with instruments like these. I'm keeping an eye out for one for myself.
How have I never discovered this instrument before!? This is gorgeous!
You may like it's older version also: gu qin
one chinese translate as in: Ancient piano ^3^
Michelle Kong typing gu qin or 古琴 into google image search might help to bring clarity into the matter though.
Then ofc, piano is actually an instrument with strings also, so it is not surprising the other ideogram in word 钢琴 is qin.
as a chinese,i have to say china has a lot of traditional instruments,Guzheng is just one of them.you can also google 琵琶 or pipa, also an amazing instrument, at least i think so :)
Yesh, i know, I'm chinese, I'm also a Kiwi.... in school we are learning about connections ( not THAT connections ) and I learnt that I am connected to everyone in the world
