The King of love my shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never; I nothing lack if I am his And he is mine forever. Where streams of living water flow, My ransomed soul he leadeth And, where the verdant pastures grow, With food celestial feedeth. Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, But yet in love he sought me And on his shoulder gently laid And home rejoicing brought me. The King of love my shepherd is, My shepherd is the King of love. And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never. Good Shepherd, may I sing thy praise Within thy house forever.
This is also a favorite arrangement of this beautiful poem. I also like the hymn arrangement (St. Columba) which is in our hymn book. The words are complete and spectacular and both musical settings are beyond my ability to describe. We all have our favorites, and these are two of mine.
This is one Pettit song that I just love , cherish , admire , and think that it's such a beautiful song . This song is on Steve Pettits' CD " Higher Ground " .
This is worship. True, reverent worship. Sadly, only a small remnant want this. I want this. Come quickly Lord Jesus.
