Don't know if this was the same gig but I was lucky enough to catch Annie & Marc at the Duke of Yorks Theatre in the early 80s, Matt Johnson (The The) supported and they dropped the curtain on him halfway through the classic "Uncertain Smile" he was not best pleased, Marc sat on the fringe of the stage beseeching Matt to come back. They went on to play an exceptional set, Angels was fantastic. I don't think I've ever heard such an incredibly surreal song, it summed up our, my time, "starting right now to look a little tainted" I'm in my late 50s now, and I've just got to own my obsession with the soft cell and Stevo that broke some top bands on his Some Bizzarre Label. Anyway........... just a comment Ade
I completely agree - Marc was outstanding that night! Thank you so much for the lovely compliment; I still have several more clips to edit and upload soon, all filmed with my little compact camera, a Sony Cybershot DSC-HX20V.
Outstanding filming Marc was really on fire for this concert. Hope you upload any more you shot, this is the best film from the show on youtube. Is it shot on a phone or camcorder - it's so steady!
what an amazing night that was full of wonderful memories from then and from the first time hearing this album. so glad that I got the chance to see this with my sister whom I discovered sadly had manias of her own. still releavant to this world we live in facebook, instagram snapchat. thanks also to Anthony for requesting this as his meltdown
It doesn't quite seem the same knowing that the edge that Marc was on when he wrote these songs isn't there any more! He did have a million manias back then. Can't see the point of this concert...
say what you will man, im just loving that i can witness this event well after its happen, without being there, without knowing it even happened until i saw it. yet i get to see thirlwell and almond perform live together in a time that i was well before i was able to. and that chance to experience, i say. that part is not debatable.
