Awesome news this week!! Congratulations! I enjoy watching your videos and have gone back to start watching your previous ones. So helpful…. even the math I understand. You will hit 10k in no time…❤
Congrats on your spinning journey.🎉 I’m a spinner too and I’ve spun so many varieties of fiber. A good thing for a new spinner to do is a breed study pack which you can find on Etsy and other places. This helps you understand what you like and how the breeds vary. To get the Malibrigo to open up and draft steaming this fiber is what works. The Wool and Spinning channel and community is full of all the spinning things you need to know.
Congratulations on your 5 K subscribers. Your spinning has progressed so quickly!! The last spindle looks fantastic. I love your striped tee, looks beautiful. Neck and little sleeves will be good. Your blanket is beautiful too. I like your color combinations and placement. Have a productive week.
get a kitchen scale so you can weigh your fiber and yarn. and i figure out how many yards i have by using a 2 yard "niddy noddy" once i have my new yarn on my niddy noddy i count the strands and then times it by 2 yards. then you know if you got 250yards that weighs 100grams you have a Dk weight yarn. good luck and happy spinning!!
Yay for the Taylor talk come back! Honestly I enjoy them so much and I was starting to miss them🤣 Also congrats on reaching 5k, your channel's amazing and you deserve it!🥳🤩
Try knitting a sock with 2 circular needles !! ( 16" ) EASY PEASY !!! Your spinning looks fantastic !! Fiber prep before spinning is a big key to success !
I've been interested in trying to knit socks this way! It may happen eventually 😆 and I'm really learning that fiber prep makes a hugeee difference! Thanks for the tips!
As a beginner spinner I swear by the Jillianeve UA-cam channel, she is wonderful and does such a good job of explaining exactly how she figures out yardage for her handspun yarns
Congrats on 5k! I loved catching up on your knitting, Taylor Talk, and Bridgerton thoughts (also I highly recommend the book series!). I loved working with Tynn Line last summer. I made a Cumulous Tee, and it’s one of my faves to wear in the hot weather.
Congratulations on 5k and your spinning progress! I am new here, thank you UA-cam algorithm! Definitely a subscriber and can’t wait to see more of your fiver journey! 💕💕💕
Congrats on 5,000. Your videos always get me in the right mindset to knit and I love knitting along while I listen to you chat about your projects and ideas. Thank you for all of the time and energy you put into your videos, you inspire me a lot. I don't have anyone to share my knitting with so it's been nice to get to chat with other knitters in the knit along discord. It helps me pretend I have friends and that I've found "my people" even though I don't participate a ton in the conversation.
Aw thank you Jordan! I'm so glad the chat has been good! There are a bunch of other knitting-related Discord channels out there too! A lot of indie dyers have them!
Congrats on hitting 5K! Your new tee looks amazing!! I may need to put that on my long list. I also have the Poppy Tee on my list. Now, just searching for yarn in my stash for it.
Your Farnham tee is so good! I have some line and tynn line….I might have to find something to make with it soon. It looks really nice knit up! Congrats on 5k 🤩
🎉woohoo 5K subs Way to Go ! Saw your Instagram over the weekend, you have picked up on that Spinning so quickly ! Wow good for you Leslie . Hi Rocky 💙🐾🥰
Congrats on the 5K! I'm quite new as I found your videos through the ereader design (I've made 2 so far!) & am loving your videos. Can't wait to see what your next pattern will look like
congrats on the spinning joy and yes I am the same ... I had the same issue with my malibrigo roving and ended up splitting up the roving into pencil strips and spun it that way and to note it has a short staple length so adjusted my tension to reduce the pull..
I definitely did not do enough prep / pre-drafting because I had no idea what I was doing and I was so impatient 😅 I feel like with more prep like you did, I could probably make it work eventually!
Congratulations on 5k! I think the google form is a great idea. I recently won a giveaway and the only way I found out was by watching the video where the winner was announced. The UA-camr replied to my comment, but I didn't get a notification about it 🤷 The comment system can be difficult to work with
Do you have a niddy noddy? People measure how much yarn they end up with using a niddy noddy. It’s also helpful for making a nice skein. You basically count how many times you wrap the yarn and depending on the size of your niddy noddy, that’s how much yarn you have. There are ways to sample and figure out how much yarn you will get based on your spun sample, and eventually you’ll get to know your own spinning and be able to estimate. A skein of commercially spun yarn is 100 grams usually, and that’s about as much fiber as you’ll get in a braid, but the density of your spinning will affect yardage so sample spinning for big projects is important. You also need to get a spinner control card to measure your yarn. Wraps per inch will tell you what weight you end up with, and you can check periodically for consistency. I like the one from Camaj Fiber Arts because I think it’s most accurate. Oh, and the gray is looking great. Forgot to add: Jillian Eve has a ton of beginner spinning videos and fun historical spinning content
Omg so much good info here, thank you! I just picked up a niddy noddy and watched a couple videos on how to use it and estimate yardages, and that's exactly what I was looking for! And I've been watching the heck out of Jillian Eve too! 💖
Hi and congrats! Beginner spinner here, just a few weeks ahead of you :) I learned a lot with videos from Becks (Tiny Fibre Studio here on UA-cam) and Spinning Sara just dropped one on plying 2ply :D
I am contemplating knitting the Anker's Shirt by PetiteKnit and it asks for Sandnes yarn Linne, although I am not sure whether that's the thin or the thick version of it. Congratulations on 5k!
@@knitcalifornia Oh, you didn't have to look it up, that's really nice of you! I appreciate it, and I guess I'll look up what colours they have available!
Congrats on 5k!! Your bobbin looks so good! I found this video super helpful in learning to calculate yardage. My first time calculating after plying was by using a swift, but found it a little difficult, so I ended up getting a Niddy Noddy and find it much easier to calculate yardage. I found this video really helpful, I'm sure most people know her but she's got a ton of very helpful videos in an easy to understand way. ua-cam.com/video/3h8BmK2L6U8/v-deo.htmlsi=rNl6yhVFx8VPnElA

The google form is such a good idea for the giveaway, I see a lot of creators saying the same thing about UA-cam video giveaways.
Thank you! It's so difficult with no DM feature on UA-cam! Hopefully this is easier!
YIPPEE!! You are a champ!! I am so very proud of you!!!🎉❤ your singles look awesome!! Keep spinning-You’ve. Got. This. ❤

Your tee looks incredible and I think the color looks fine on you. On the home stretch now and the rest won’t take long to knit.
Thank you!
Congrats on 5K! I like the spinning talk. I’m planning to get a Schacht wheel sometime this year so I’m enjoying following along.

Your friend Natalie she wiedh her yarn with a kitchen scale
Makes sense!
Could you use the Dreaming Robots EEW Yarn Counter to measure yardage?
Hmm I’m not sure, but I think I’m going to use my niddy noddy!
You use a nitty, naughty to measure yardage
Thank you! Just got one! :)
