We did the same thing and then thinned out and transplanted to other small pots. Only problem was we forgot to label what kind of tomato so now we have 21 mystery tomato plants!! Love following your you tubes!!!
Buy one. Seedlings need 12-16 hours of light to grow properly. There isn't enough sunlight during the early spring months to give them that. They'll grow really thin and break easily. You can save money by going to the hardware store and just buying any light that has over 2000 lumens and has 5000 Kelvin.
idk bro i just used from tomato seed from my local tomato and used tap water some soil from my backyard and placed it on my windowsill with a cup over the soil
I need a light so bad I’m trying to grow them in my flat from natural sunlight it’s not easy In the uk, but u just Convinced me to get a grow light thank you
My guess would be that as soon as they come up they have access to light right away. They can also somewhat detect light presence under the soil (esp since the soil layer on top of them is so thin)
Tomato seedlings don’t need light to germinate. Switch the grow light on as soon as you see the seedling start to emerge for sure, but any earlier is a waste of time
Any plastic pot with a grain hole at the bottom will do I do recommend that you use a water catching tray instead of the clip-on bottom covers because they will just trap in water but it's all about that soil what plant are you trying to re-pot

LMAO😂😂😂😂. Any luck figuring out which was which?
My heritage tomatoes are also a mystery! I found some seeds in a store bought purée and went from there
I just put a slice of tomato under a bit of soil in the pot and voila a bunch of tomatoes
Same
"Turkey baste of water" 🙈🤣🤣🤡
Plant seeds and water them? Truly revolutionary
Crazy, fr
100% success rate if you put more than one seed on the same pot. 🤪

Woo hoo! Enjoy the extra light when it comes :)
Thanks for watching!
Cool, but just curious why would you need a grow light prior to germination. The seeds are under ground?

Some seeds require light to germinate and missing one day of light on your seedlings could be disastrous
@NNTorious sounds good, thanks for the advice
The light provides a lot of heat but it's also to stop the seedlings from stretching which makes the plant weak
You are correct. Tomato seeds don’t need light to germinate.
Thank you so much 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching :)
I heard that 100% termination rate for any marajuana seed is to keep it in 1% hydrogen peroxide- I wonder if this goes for tomato too

Cool 😎
Thanks!
Amazing!!!

What do you recommend for larger pots once the plants grow out of the 3 inch seed cells? Looking for something on the cheaper end but good quality

bro we gotta get you a wife,, you be calling plants babies is a bit too crazy cat ladyish
