Comme un aigle, comme un aigle, dans la ville, dans le ville ! Vole, survole, chasse nocturne, chasse nocturne ! Je sais pas comment ce Dennis Parker y est parvenu mais il a plagié cette légende qu'est Michel Vedette
The unusual thing that I like the most is the crowd of people turning their heads and looking at him. It give a sense of being in reality. No other video has shown something like that.
No wonder. Some random guy miming to a playback track in the middle of Times Square like there's no tomorrow. I guess back then with all the junkies and weirdos, even this was a bit odd to see.
Dennis had an encyclopedic knowledge of early jazz music. He was an avid record collector and loved the blues. It's quite amusing to see him in this "role," for he was the furthest thing imaginable from being a disco guy. I know he looked back on his brief music stardom with laughter.
@@tomoflathead It's not about whether disco music is good or bad. Dennis was not into the music. In truth, he loved collecting old 78s -- mostly 1920s jazz. He was a talented artist and went to art school to study painting and sculpting. He was a gifted carpenter. He drew patterns for Simplicity Pattern Company on Madison Avenue. But acting and singing were his true passions. I think the failure to find legitimate acting jobs and struggling in that business jaded him a bit. When he dated Jacques Morali, who was completely in love with Dennis, he was seduced by the idea of being a star again. Jacques even offered Dennis a spot in the Village People, but they decided to launch him as a solo star instead. Despite that, Dennis was not a fan of mainstream pop or disco music. He had reservations at first but was enticed by the glitz and glam, I suppose. Jacques made Dennis practice intensely and take singing lessons to prepare for recording the songs. He really worked his tail off, and despite Jacque’s frustrations in the studio with Dennis’ limitations, he never wavered or lost his cool. He was a very generous, mild-mannered guy, and everyone enjoyed him. In the end, we always felt the album didn't do Dennis’ voice proper justice. It would have been interesting if he had been able to make an album that better suited his talent.

This is hysterical - so theatrical - but it was at the height of Disco. I feel bad this singer only had a few more years of good health. That damn disease was so awful how it took so many young lives back then, and it stripped one's immune system leaving them with very visible signs of it's presence. It was so horrible to watch a friend try to fight off this disease - when the outcome was demise. Only a select few from the 80's who avoided AZT long enough to take the 'cocktail' of drugs starting in 1995 that have been so effective in living with it. I hope young people take Prep to prevent them from getting this hideous disease.
