    I have always struggled with SMART goals, but omg changing the letters around! GIRL! Literally made this seem so much more accessible- in my case, I think of actions as the last part, so I think I would actually think about these as SRTMA goals…lol not as cute but it makes sense to me. Thank you for that!!!

      I was thinking STRAM would be best for me! This video really reminded us we have free will to do it the way that makes sense individually!

      Heck yeah!! SRTMA forever!

      Omgg same !! Smarter goals made sense when people spoke about it , but could never make it work for me when I actually tried to make a goal smart

    O. M. G. This was SO perfectly timed for me. I am getting back into a business for myself that is going to take up a lot of my time and my husband is not used to me being busy anymore. There are so many pieces in this video that are relevant for me. Thank you so much!! ❤❤❤❤

    Rachelle this video was fantastic as always. Also may I say, you look so glowing, healthy and happy in this video. You shared in your goal setting videos that you were focusing on wellness this year and it’s so obvious you have been consistent. This is so inspiring to me!

    Such a great video! One thing i will add is if there are personal things you like to do but are not really a priority, first try and see if there’s a way to incorporate them into your goal. Re: I’m learning 3 languages right now but i also love watching TV and movies so i try to watch things in my target language so I’m still learning but not totally giving up something i really enjoy!

    I really love your take on these things! Especially since there is always a mention about self care and taking into account our energy levels. It resonates a lot with me.
    Another video of yours in my UA-cam playlist on organization! 🥰

    There’s nothing on SMART goals that says you need to write the goal following the acronym order. But I understand what you did here, after all, to be successfully one should adapt productivity advice to its own needs 😀

    • @RachelleinTheory
      @RachelleinTheory  Рік тому +2

      True!! I think people will read an acronym and write it out in the order they see it, and try to follow from that order though. But people are already inventing their own SRAMT, SMTRA, TARSN acronyms in the comments, which I love 🥰

    Great video but what about obstacles that may get in the way? Like I am learning to plan around my depression thanks to your videos. Like how do you bounce back from a setback for your goals?

    • @Bootus123
      @Bootus123 Рік тому +9

      I think there are two important answers to this.
      1. Rather than thinking “what will I do if there is a setback,” it’s better to think “what will I do WHEN there is a setback,” and to know that setbacks are totally okay. Planning can reduce them, but it doesn’t eliminate them.
      2. The easy answer is “know setbacks are part of the process and growth isn’t linear.” A setback or obstacle isn’t a failure, just a part of the journey. Try again tomorrow.

    I love SMART goals, but instead of moving the letters around, I just change what they mean for me: Specific Motivated Actionable Realistic and Time-Bound. It's not perfect - if measuring is something that you're not doing in your realistic check it might not work as well, but I've gotten a lot of good use out of them!

    I think you would be great to work for, because you are very adept at managing the details on how our brains work and life's tasks work. I would trust your feedback, because you explain things well. I inaginevyou set people up to grow.

    I hate measurable. I can’t get past measurable. And time bound. I feel like good enough is good enough whenever you can make it happen, so SMART goals make me feel lazy before I even write them. Can’t get past it.

    super silly thought/comment: that part somewhere in 14:50 about how you can't just cut off your partner completely like a psycho is really making me giggle imagining you just out of nowhere not talking to or contacting them and them being very confused and u say oh it's just that i'm studying spanish, really important, so ta or something. idk i'm just so amused by the thought

      I don't agree. Longer videos are more value-packed, and personally I find her videos short enough to watch in one sitting but long enough to go in-depth into each topic.
