A lot of parents are focused on forcing their kids to attend college cause they think they’ll live a better life. Exactly❤ my husband and I always told our daughter "we brought you in to this world but it is on you what you make of it and who you will become, we always are proud of you".
You don't need their consent but it would be nice to have their support and have them be apart of your story. I don't think people understand how hurtful it can be to feel unloved by the people you love the most.
I get the feeling like she is so salty about him not going to college that when she just got evidence that it could work for him, she couldn’t handle that his instinct was right. And as a mother, if I felt like my kid wasn’t doing the right thing, but they were happy and finding success, I would be stoked! Because my kid worked for something and someone thought he was worth it. Why can’t parents be supportive? What is she doing? Being butthurt? Go get that car!
The thing is, nothing is guaranteed. Yes you may have an up like this but what if that’s all, for a while. Asking if your parent is proud of you shows there’s a lot more to it than just “wow I just got $5k mom!”. You also don’t know how much his mom/parents invested in him and maybe he blew it being careless, regardless if it was only college
Let's think about how heartbroken the streamer is for a second, the person who brought him into this world and raised him and showed him lots of love in his childhood (hopefully) just says "I don't care" and hangs up to him getting 5000$, imagine that happening to you. edit: welp, I and pretty sure a lot of other people got jebaited, this shit was staged lol

The problem with parents is that they're old. I'm old too. But I realize it's not the same world it was 25 years ago when I was 18. You can make a living playing video games. You can livestream. And that's actually pretty damn cool.
@Monkey D. Luffy yeah man. It sneaks up on you quick before you even know it. That's how I know parents are way behind the times. They don't realize just how much things have changed since the year 2000. Things aren't done the same way as before, and people can make a decent living without having to go to college. Personally I think it's great! I would have absolutely *LOVED* getting paid to livestream me playing video games. Unfortunately a lot of parents don't get it.
Sure thing. Because morals and being old are the same thing. I bet instead of trying to be a parent to your kids you'd try to be their friend. The problem isn't age, the problem is a lack of people acting their age. Same thing applies to you apparently.
As the mother of 4 men idc what they choose to do for a living. I do care that they are kind, humble and HAPPY. I don't know what best for them. They know what's best for them💗
That's just so heartbreaking to hear. Agreed! Too many people go not knowing what they want to pursue only to end up in mountains of debt and having to return anyway when they do finally decide. Going to college doesn't guarentee anything now since so many people have a degree; it's incredibly common to have a degree and be working a minimum wage or low wage job. In those cases having college debt can compound an already difficult situation!
We don't get to pick who birthed us but we can pick who our family is in the long run. He deserves to be so proud and happy. I hope he keeps pushing himself to fulfill his dreams.
@Red Dog because he knows his mom doesnt care. Its pretty pathetic to ask for money from strangers through the internet. 5k donation seems weird, especially knowing its an adult giving it to a kid
Believe it or not. But parents don't know what's best for you. They know how to wipe your ass as a kid. They may know life advice that worked for them. But being a parent doesn't guarantee that they know anything valuable in today's age. Quit college and becoming a streamer is honestly a valid career choice today, heck it might be a safer bet if you already have a decent platform. It will only go up.
Nowadays College is the worse option because it puts you in debt and definitely doesn't guarentee you any job, you could get a PHD and work at Mcdonalds
I'm sorry but u are wrong. 99% of streaming careers end up dying. Only the 1% are successful enough to not have to worry about money ever again. Many ppl have quit their careers/schooling just to pursue their dreams to be streamers and majority of them end up becoming irrelevant and they are stuck trying to find a new job. A lot of success for streamers only lasts a couple years then the 1% are the ones that stay relevant and rich. Trying to become a successful streamer is a huge risk and statistically doesn't work out for most ppl. Good parents do know what's best for their children. This parent just wants her son to go to college since she knows streaming is very risky. I'll bet all my money this streamer isn't successful anymore. I haven't heard anything about them
That’s not at all true. Most streaming careers end up dying at some point and you’re not able to sustain yourself. Anyone who says college is not a good option is lying to themselves. Higher education opens so many doors for you that it’s clear to see who has and hasn’t gone to it.

There are always two sides to every story. I can’t ever imagine telling my kids I don’t care when they are excited to tell me something though.
There’s two sides to every story, but it is never ever okay to tell someone that you don’t care. You may not care, but no matter any context I have found that those words are awful. From something small where it means I don’t care what your saying at this moment to something big where it means I don’t care about you. That hurts. You may not care and that’s fine, but don’t say I don’t care. I do not have an interest in anime and yet I will listen to my brother talk about it because HE cares. Probably because donations aren’t a stable source of income and money is a part of it but education is as well. when he brought up “are you glad I didn’t go to college” he probably sparked something that made her not want to talk to him at that moment. Possibly from past arguments they had over the whole thing. @@Murimz That may be his case, but stuff like this really does happen sometimes and some kids end up throwing their life away chasing this dream with nothing else to fall back on. Though I’m glad that’s not his case
It’s his presentation, that’s what went wrong. Adding “ Aren’t you happy I didn’t go to college…” didn’t make it better for his parents to understand either. $5000 is not a lot of money and when considering car note and insurance it adds up monthly. Should have bought his mum some flowers. As opposed to an opportunity to prove her wrong. A mother is the best friend a boy can ever have. With that, will come along their hopes & dreams for us. I wouldnt encourage people to become a streamer. If they wanted to go into a skill or a trade which had popularity like acting, art, or crafting I could support that. The problem with parents is that they're old. I'm old too. But I realize it's not the same world it was 25 years ago when I was 18. You can make a living playing video games. You can livestream. And that's actually pretty damn cool.

Things can always go down
Nowadays College is the worse option because it puts you in debt and definitely doesn't guarentee you any job, you could get a PHD and work at Mcdonalds
I haven't heard anything about them
Shame on you
That’s not at all true. Most streaming careers end up dying at some point and you’re not able to sustain yourself. Anyone who says college is not a good option is lying to themselves. Higher education opens so many doors for you that it’s clear to see who has and hasn’t gone to it.

Can you blame her though I mean if you had a child and they told you they want to stream playing video games for a living you would tell them hell no.

I wouldn’t say I’m happy someone didn’t go to college when they had the chance, but I would be proud about that donation
I LOVE your pfp!!
it's a joke lol they set this up
I understand her disappointment, but it's his life, his choice, his journey. As long as he's not living at home past the age of 18, do what you want.
30 years later
"Son,can you fetch me the medicine?"
"I don't care,goodbye."

Im dumb at school not that dumb my highest grades is 83% that happen one time but i will still go to collage and get a nice job and have a family and maybe one day i will be the president of the philippines (im bad at english sorry)
Frankly the question he asked was phrased in a testy way, “Are you happy that I didn’t go to college?” How is a parent supposed to reply to that. She said it’s nice that he got such a donation and can now buy a car but like most other parents on the planet wouldn’t outright say “I’m happy, specifically because you didn’t go to college” because that makes no sense to say.
Exacty! But the mom is kinda wrong for hanging up on him. I just wish the son went to college as a " back-up" plan. YK just incase.
She could have just said I still wish you gone to college but I am proud of you. Or I can’t say I agree with all your life choices but I am proud. Instead of saying I don’t care
"I'm not happy that you didn't go to college but I love that you're trying something you like and making a living"
@@robert7100 Perfect response. But I'm not sure the Mom would be thinking that, because most likely she still angry at her son. BUT STILL PERFECT RESPONSE 👌
I mean you are just a bitch, I would be proud as fuck for my son if he got money for something he loves and got what he wanted
Wow imagine being so rude to your kid saying “I don’t care” because they actually achieved something.

He should call someone who really cares. I hope you make millions dude.
Probably because donations aren’t a stable source of income and money is a part of it but education is as well. when he brought up “are you glad I didn’t go to college” he probably sparked something that made her not want to talk to him at that moment. Possibly from past arguments they had over the whole thing.
Edit: Also I’m not saying what the mom did was right cause you’re supposed to support your kid on what they want to do while also giving guidance to help them make the right decisions. I’m just trying to give perspective.
Its fearsomefire lmao, not only is he pretty big, but hes literally said that this vid is fake lol
Ya you probably right. He shouldn’t say about college. Its just make it worst
That's my mindset looking at this dude. He's not even a big streamer at the time. Hell 5 grand is good but I doubt he has it now .-.
@@Murimz That may be his case, but stuff like this really does happen sometimes and some kids end up throwing their life away chasing this dream with nothing else to fall back on. Though I’m glad that’s not his case
@@jtorres210jt he has 66k subscribers
It’s his presentation, that’s what went wrong. Adding “ Aren’t you happy I didn’t go to college…” didn’t make it better for his parents to understand either. $5000 is not a lot of money and when considering car note and insurance it adds up monthly. True college isn’t meant for everyone but both side were not trying to empathize with the other. I think understanding back story to the back story is important as well before assuming his parents don’t care about him or his dreams.
I know it’s a fake skit, but I still said what I said because there are young adults that think like this kid.
this
She was saying something first replying to him asking is she proud of him? When just sounds bitter that she was wrong and she knew she was wrong. Parents can't handle the fact that they don't know what's best.
@Polar not everything u see in life is staged. shit like this happens sometimes. stfu.

Well guess someone isn't happy he is making something of himself by not going to college
ETA: ok maybe looking for a reaction by asking if she's proud that he didn't go to college was not a good move. She was neutral and him rubbing that in her face made her mad. She wasn't happy about him not attending and being neutral but that question pissed her off, so bad on him too
I wouldnt encourage people to become a streamer. If they wanted to go into a skill or a trade which had popularity like acting, art, or crafting I could support that.
But telling somebody to sit in a chair and play games while people watch you isnt something I would suggest. Maybe videogame maker but not just a player.

The way he delivers the message to his mom is the reason his mom is pissed off and right off the bat he's considering of spending the money without even thinking. $5k will not get you anywhere in life or at very least it's not enough reason to justify dropping out.
Fair enough the way he said it was a bit cocky but even still the moms actions isn't exactly nice either
He's spending the money on something he needs which is a car. You act like he's just blowing money.
I see getting a car as very responsible decisions, just my opinion on it
He’s getting a car big head 🤦🏾♂️ always the anime pfp
When im a parent im gonna make sure i aint like any of those people who don't acknowledge kids goals, passions and achievements. Be proud of your children they are trying their best to achieve their dreams and you have to be supportive of that, they want to be noticed and want you to be proud of them no matter which path they take in life.
thank god he got that money. i’d buy a car and never let my mum get in if she did that. he deserves better. i’m thankful that my mum isn’t like this
The guy said the wrong thing at the wrong time to his mother, couldn't blame her to hang up after hearing her son say "Are you proud that I didn't go to college? ". Like how is a person supposed to respond to that, that guy got carried away that he got 5000 dollars and said a very dumb thing. It wasn't the mom's fault entirely.
How would you feel if you made a lot of money and wanted to tell ur mom and she says idc bye that’s just not a thing you say to your child
@@Virgil_editz If my kids called me up effectively bragging about the 5000 they were gifted, I'd set them straight - 'that's good, but do you really need to brag about it?'. The follow up question about not going to college would break me too, I'd hang up straight away, no comments no questions. I've told both my kids whilst they live under my roof, streaming is a side earner. Go to uni, get a degree, earn some money from an actual job, then once you have some capital behind you, do what you want. Least that way if things don't work out for them, they a) have some fallback money stashed away and b) they have a qualification that could get them back into work easier.
@@Virgil_editz What? The mom would not have hang up if the guy didn't say "Are you proud of me that I didn't go to college?",Of course every parent wants their child to be properly educated, so saying that was a dumb move.
@@Dodge12270 that’s still your child you should not hang up and them no matter they life choices it’s your child
@@Virgil_editz Nope, he was being disrespectful for saying that, and the parents were probably already disappointed that their son chose their career FIRST than education, which was not what they expect for their, and made it worse for asking if they were proud that he didn't go to college. You should've understand the situation.
I know this guy, it's FearsomeFire, I'm pretty sure he said it wasn't his mom and it was all a joke.
I mean I’m proud of him I understand why people do social media rather than actual work it’s so much easier but sometimes there’s just some unsupportive people in your life that you just have to cut off might be hard but we don’t need negativity in our choices to be real one might actually go insane just by going to university bc of how much stress and expectations they have to carry day by day and if that’s what his dream is I’ll always support him
That is so sad because it is relatable in some way
The sad part is this story is being twisted. A parents job is to prepare u for the world when they leave. Not saying he's doing anything wrong going after his dreams, but going big in streaming is like getting signed by pro sports, u shouldn't rely on it. The mom possibly took it as ur okay with being handed money, which is nice, but its a jab at her as a parent.
Still not okay for her to say she didn't care. What kind of parent does that because of what? Jealousy? That he's making something for himself and they didn't... It's sick and sad.
Theres nothing being twisted here. Her response was cruel even if she didn't believe him. Are you saying that if your kid defyed the odds and became a pro athlete you wouldn't be happy because they didn't have a degree? Lol, a degree doesnt guarantee anything these days except usually debt. Emotional abuse doesnt prepare anyone for anything, it only takes from a child, even when theyre an adult
This makes me so grateful that I have such supportive parents, they literally went crazy over a 1 dollar dono 😂
