yes we should have universal pharma care here in manitoba we have a pharmacare it only kicks in when you reach your deductable so a better system where you get a better discount would work better so prescriptions are affordable which would remove the cost from the health system.

I love how he talks about saddling the next generation in debt. My tax rate has never been lower than 70%. And I have to pay half my salary in medication. You do the math.
Person A needs 100k surgery.
Person B needs 100k in drugs.
Why does person A get the healthcare they pay for but not person B?
The healthcare costs in this country are why I am leaving it the first chance I get and renouncing my citizenship. At least in the states I won't be double billed and then attacked by people whom think their healthcare system is great but ranks 21st in the world and where I live provides horrible results. Something they admit since we spend more than any other place in Canada. And when you only cover about 1/4 of healthcare and poor people only have so much to spend... things like drugs, dental, eyes, etc, sounds like a better use of my money than paying for surgeries you do not need.
We have the most backwards healthcare system I have ever seen and nobody shown me how it is economically feasible yet. Where I live around 25% of the population works to pay for about 75% of the population in one way or another. Lol. Let me know how that goes. But we are fighting bankruptcy for healthcare that only covers about 1/4 of what you need. Which is bad when what you need comes from the uncovered costs and have no more money to cover the rest.
Let us buy insurance. That way we get to buy what we need without the double billing which prevents poor people from having the money they need to be able to pay for their healthcare whatever it may be.
Unlike most people I don't think trained doctors, buildings, bills for the lights, etc, etc, comes from rainbows and kittens. So when you had to work your whole life with the government giving you nothing because "You don't deserve it..." it is hard to even support this country anymore.
You cannot even get crimes like murder investigated here anymore. But they get their healthcare. Completelty backwards here.
The only people whom like the system are those whom know their costs are being paid for by others whom cannot afford it. Otherwise it is a patchwork piece of garbage born of years of vote buying and short sighted thinking.
Get them to show you the projected costs when they cover everything as required by law since you are taking money to pay for "healthcare" and technically providing none to certain groups now. Or preventing people from being able to buy their own with double taxation.
Check the results if you do not believe me.
