This isn't the Universal model NDP wanted. This is a heavy compromise. Jagmeet is a weak negotiator.
Canadains are so sick of tax hikes. Horrible leadership
Dental care will not be ‘free’. Many dentists will not participate and those who do will not just accept the low fees the government pays and will be balance billing the patient the difference between normal and customary fees and CDBP fees. As well there could be large geographic areas with no participating dentists.
Tax players putting more money into something we don't ask for. We need lower cost for food. gas. housing 💥. CBC. 💥
So like 10$a day child care LOL
It is not so important. 4 provinces have already said no thanks. The will be a big uptick. Your taxes will go way up.
It’s all puppies & rainbows. But nothing is free. We are nearly $1.3 Trillion in debt. Who pays for this?
Do you really have to ask?? You and me!!
Was it ever free when you paid big pharma?
@@davidriedel5282, I never paid big pharma until now. Thanks
Well. Freeland was just given the green light for ANOTHER $75B in deficit spending i.e. money printing. So I'm sure some of it will come from there while inflation skyrockets.
open your wallet - DONT YOU CARE ABOUT THE POOR??? YOU DON'T NEED ALL THAT MONEY! TRUDEAU NEEDS IT!
You cannot use this to attack pp. He is going to win. Tuff
listen to the opposition leaders speech they are talking about. the intentional misrepresentations of what was said is astounding
Is this Trudeau's channel I heard of?
You gotta love the political game!
Sounds great. How EXACTLY will this program be paid for ?
Taxes, more TAXES!
@@StarAllKungfu Just like roads. And everything else.
Every other nation in the world with medicare has pharmacare. It's about time Canada get with the program.
@@davidriedel5282Do you think they have downward pressure on costs, or nah? Just a free-for-all, infinite dollars for big pharma? It's all in the implementation.
@@dexterfretsing2055 Your question isn't worded clearly, but no, big pharma does not have downward pressure on costs, obviously. Publicly funded pharma care would lower costs, just as publicly funded health care does.
Twi provinces have said no, two morè are debating leaving the phamacare. How many more will leave pharmacare. Your taxes will get much larger.
Interest rates are at historic lows Glen.
It’s wild how flagrantly partisan every one of these CBC panels is. This is 4 Trudeau sycophants having a love in.
Fred DeLorey has run CPC election campaigns. He is hardly a Trudeau sycophant.
We are going to let Justin & Jasmeet get us more free gifts. Then we will vote Pierre as Priminister and put all criminals, back in prison. Pierre will put immigration, back to what has worked for Canada, for all these decades!
= taxes going up up up
hahahah health care is free which helps ALOT OF PPL its more then the conserative offer the ppl idk if you know but the job of the govermant is to make our lives better and drug coverage is gonna help ppl soo idk this will libs and ndp which is better then the HATE FILLED CONSERATIVES
Infinite taxpayer dollars for big pharma. Sounds GREAT. No wonder they could pass it.
My thoughts exactly!
Do you already pay for blue cross etc for bennefits? Great! Now you can pay more in taxes for a program that offers 1 percent as much reward! Yay!!! Everyone rejoyce.
You do realize people are fed up with the prices and the wokeness. And they do want someone with a stronger, "harsher" image like Pierre Poilievre who will not dance around these issues.
This was not the agreement. Do your homework.
Here is your new pharma care.... Oh, what's that? A new tax you say... nooooo no new tax to pay for pharma care.. what are ya talking about... Nothing to see here. 🤦♂🙄
Excited for Canadians??? I’m a Canadian and you haven’t done anything for me, every time you say your helping Canadians we get more screwed
You speak as though Jagmeet Bling is in politics for Canadians and not his pension 😂
I get so much solace knowing the younger gens who voted in this govt, are the ones struggling the most. Hope you picked out a nice spot at the park for your tent, they’re going fast.
Amen, brother.
DEAR CBC COMMENTS ALWAYS NEED TO BE ON OR DONT POST.
to much hype, this is 1 step in a 100 step process.
Another scam in the making
The collaboration between parties hasn't been smooth, but they are figuring it out. It just goes to show how much better off we could be with proportional representation. We need an electoral system that encourages politicians to reach out to opposition parties for the good of the country.
They should have forced the pharmaceutical industry to reduce its prices instead of putting the burden on tax payers.
Historic! Sure there will be plenty of discussion on costs etc, but wow! See if this covers more meds soon. Wont help me personally, but I cant see how this can be bad for a country to have.
It’s great when the government finds more ways to spend tax dollars when they are already bleeding debt that will take generations to pay off not to mention interest incurred on that (aka pissing money down the toilet for poor financial decisions). Guess they will just increase and create new taxes to steal more money from us plebs. Sure is “historic” 🤦🏽♂️
It's bad because it keeps Trudeau in power which is continuing to destroy the country in every aspect.
Good stuff honestly. I think capitalism is the best we can get, but on healthcare...it should stay away.
Because it has to be paid for and if there's anything today's Liberals can NOT do... its be responsible with other people's money.
It is bad of course. We as a country are $1.2 trillion in debt. We can't afford this stupidity.
So just when does this happen?
Dental some kids, under 12 and over 73 Years Old. Just how these are wins?
Dental is for all canadians age wise . However it a slow role out for people over 70 right now going lower ever few months.
@@AtteliaVel it's for $90'000 or less, for a family. It's not for EVERY CANADIAN. Get your facts straight
@@AtteliaVel BAWHAWHAWHAW
People like you are taking Canada down, to become Venezuela V 2.0
@@shado7418the average household income is around 75k, so it will cover most Canadians.
@@lizliz4186 you say that with pride, that's sad. Still doesn't explain WHEN all ages will be covered
Where is this money coming from. He just gave millions to Haiti... billions to the Ukraine and quarter of a million floating around somewhere....?
For as much as CBC and the rest of the mainstream media criticize Pierre and the conservatives you would think they were the government. I wish they were even half as critical of the actual government instead of carrying water for them.
I don’t think these liberals every hear Trudeau speak and definitely don’t watch Question Period.
it s NEVER FREE
Canadians pay every thing .
can't afford food, can't afford a home, can't afford anything... while jagmeet holds his hands in the air in victory, yet again, over acheiving scraps.. he always talks a big game, but accomplishes nothing more than scraps
they underfund all their programs. simpleton panel.
I dont know why people watch CBC news 😂😂
This is why the CBC needs to be defunded.
congrats jagmeet. next election, it will all change. mind you, you've achieved the only thing that's important to you. a government pension. propping up that crime minister will destroy your party and in the end you will face the music.
Everyone backs pierre. Hes totally on message. Get used to it
What will be the condition to get this "free" pharma care, income lower than 10k per year ? 😅 Same BS as the "free" dental care.
What? The new dental plan helps households with up to $90k annual income, no? Maybe not full coverage for all income levels, but it's going to help a lot of people who don't have 100% dental coverage right now.
@@pyRoy6, everybody is paying for it, everyone should get the same benefits.
So those who make more money and put more taxes into the service get less?
@@CaSPeR_GHoST I mean, you're basically complaining about the very concept of insurance, or just about any public service. "Hey how come the guy whose house is on fire gets the fire department to his house? I pay taxes too! And why does his home insurance help pay for the damage? I want a refund on my premiums!"
@@pyRoy6, really which fire dept do you know of that only provides some assistance if you make too much, because that’s what the dental plan does. Sorry you make too much, we aren’t going to cover the same amount of costs as others
@@CaSPeR_GHoST Fair point. But what I'm getting at is that fire departments (or insurance payouts, or countless other public and private programs) are paid for by everyone, but respond to individuals when needed. We have these programs because people typically want those in need to get help, and because people recognize that they might one day be the one in need. On top of that, a safer, healthier society is just better for everyone.
We already have medical and dental for low income!!!
I can't stand Singh.
Everyone needs to contact their Premier and ask them to opt out of this.
Instead of contraceptives, how about fertility coverage? We’re giving Canadian a means to not have kids meanwhile we’re below replacement levels. Shouldn’t we direct funds to help Canadians have babies instead?
The fact that you can’t even grasp the fact or reasons. Just shows your ignorance.
@@loveobviously what are the facts? We already have below replacement levels of population growth. Not sure why we need to subsidize our country having even less babies when we need to be encouraging population growth. Germany’s demographic disaster is something I want to avoid. But please enlighten me on the facts.
So all CANADIANS WILL BE PAYING MORE TAXES 🤔🤔🤔🤔
here we go vote for us
I'm sure all any teenage boy heard of this article is free condoms for everyone. that said diabetic medicine being covered for those that need it is a good first step and will help canadians across the country
"This is what you get when you vote for us"--promises of free stuff, with an exorbitant price tag and drop in quality. Just like health care.
More taxes
Ndp did not win. Js is so weak.
Is singh going to continue his battle to lower food prices?, not likely, he's secured his pension, that's all the sell out cared about, himself, and his favourite person in the world, trudeau.
Government don't control the food price maybe you should start a boycott that would work
Justin and Pierre get their pensions, why not jagmeet?
A few things jagmeet is responsible for that he doesn't actually benefit from personally (while he was doing nothing working only for himself, as you say).:
Dental program
Increased basic income for seniors
Increased/doubled cerb payments
Anti scab legislation
The start of a pharma care program
He pushed the daycares program that liberals have promised for 40 years but never delivered.
You live in a capitalist country..... You as a consumer have more power over food prices than the government.
What have you done to counter increased prices?
You guys make me want to defund the CBC.
So out of touch
I must say these people are so uninformed there is no deal it's a maybe any special God is not a deal
Lol people can't even cover groceries and fill the fridge. Typical ndp great news lol
Pierre Poilievre definitely has
my vote , I love common sense, axe the tax
So you want to lose the quarterly rebate you get? Because it isn't going to lower prices more than that 0.1% that it increased prices, if it does actually lower prices at all. I'm also curious why you're considering voting for the person who sold off 800,000 affordable homes under the federal government when he was Minister of Housing. We tried Mr. Poilevre's plan, and it rose prices dramatically.
@@Arkhanno yep
Too bad PP is all about nonsense
@@Arkhanno Yes, I absolutely want to lose my $0 rebate. PP for PM !
@@Arkhanno Yes, I don't even get it by mail. Inefficient services of mail means I get my cheque months late. Not worth the cost.
The NDP votes will take Justin scraps and call it a win 😅
Jugmeet is extremely excited because it guarantees his lifetime pension.
Exactly
Glad to see that Canadians are moving into the direction of other civilized countries!! We wouldn't have anything if it' were up to most people in this chat. 🙄
You people are ridiculous
that nonsense was painful to listen to
these guys actually think the next conservative is actualy going to make a pharmacare program?
Pp should say it now he going to take people insulin and contraception pills from people
No, conservatives hate things that help people.
so does trudeau@@stratford374
This boondoggle will just make everyone poorer
This is not going to come into effect for years and needs provincial
This is nothing lol
This isn't what NDP supporters wanted dont be fooled 😊
The "lane" Singh needs to stick to is the lane that benefits Canadians. He is the leader of an opposition party not the junior partner to the Liberals no matter what some Rt wing and disingenuous pundits or voters say. the NDP get things done! They could form a government if enough Canadians could move beyond that Jagmeet doesn't "look" like them.
He has done nothing beyond prop up the corrupt liberals the only contribution the NDP have give is allowed a completely useless and corrupt liberal government to stay in power
Another weak lib
I'm a Liberal & I'm very excited to leave my Great Grandchildren with my Debt, even more excited about the inflation & higher taxes that's coming, Go Trudeau & Jughead
Your parents and grandparents gave you the debt as well. This reasoning is shallow
@s924 that's true but I've spent my 65 years voting for governments that had the most sound fiscal plan so I didn't do the same to my children & that was working till Lord Farquaad got elected, very short sighted and selfish to be leaving the country in worse shape for your children, we've had liberal government that have done good fiscally, Chrietan Martin, Lord Farquaad is a Simpleton
You’re not a liberal, you’re just a troll.

16:06 - the fact that nobody in media will say what the nature of the attacks on the Gatineau mayor were about just makes me assume it’s progressive activists therefore CBC won’t get into specifics.
Love this panel!
Bad deal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Young Canadians loose again
how? i finally get medication
What? Young Canadians will benefit the most from a lifetime of improved health care. If anyone should be upset, it's the old people who went their whole lives without this.
@@JessT-vg7ibwhat other tax payer hand outs do you people want. I don’t pay for drugs because I went to college got a good job that came with benefits which include pharmaceuticals.
Liberals voters are too dependent on government to get by. 🐑🐑
Most Canadians want an election.
@@pyRoy6 how is it improving most working Canadians already have a drug plan ! So what we are providing is free drugs to people that aren’t employed payed for by the ones that are ? sounds like socialism to me. Bad deal !!! Cuba is a great example
@@JoachimwGermain-co4zw For starters, most people spend parts of their lives without coverage. This program can fill those gaps. On top of that, the program will help keep people healthy, reducing strain on hospitals, and other social programs. Most importantly, however, is that it simply helps those who need the most help at any given time. That ought to be reason enough.
TAXES.YOUR TAXES WILL GO UP !
Yes! A win for all Canadians, thanks to the progressives 🇨🇦
Fantastic step forward!
NDP brought in our universal health care, it's fantastic to see them expand on it.
the ndp have never federally been in power this is the closest they have come to being in power
