I was visiting in the evening, there weren't a lot of people, so I tried it all: I answer an ER call, I tried to do CPR, the girl on the left was explaining to me how to do it, I also tried to do a medicine shot in the mannequin hand (and take a blood sample for analysis) and in the mannequin butt, lol. And also I tried to check lungs, listen them with stethoscope. The last thing is more like "just for fun", because you won't be doing this in case of emergency, but doing shots and CPR is very important. CPR is really hard, like gym workout.

The only shops in GUM that had plenty of items for sale (even Pepsi), was the Berioska (birch tree) shop. There, only hard currency was accepted, so, Soviet citizens could not shop in that store. Russia uses central heating system to produce warmth for all residential units. Some of units have isolated heating systems, but mostly like an exclusion, so basically all the buildings you can see are connected to central heating system. Which keeps your apartment +25 +28 C degrees inside no matter what is the weather outside. Same for cities above polar circle - in the apartment people have +22C the lowest. Central heating system is off if temperature outside is +8 or hotter since more than 1-2 weeks.
@@t.v.7886 So just a little warmer than our average. I always wondered about that, thanks for sharing. It might be different if our temperature dropped as low. We have some areas that have central heating like New York City. But they are not common, considering the population of NYC.

Мороженое ем только в гуме 🤷♀️😁
I was in GUM in 1978 (Leonid Bresnef era) during communism era. Nothing was for sale, long lines in GUM just to get a few items that might arrive for sale. Amazing what GUM is like in 2023, 45 years later. On that trip I traveled to Sochi, Leningrad, Volgagrad, Tiblisi and Kiev, all in austere times.
In GUM there were never empty shops, even in Elzin times.
The only shops in GUM that had plenty of items for sale (even Pepsi), was the Berioska (birch tree) shop. There, only hard currency was accepted, so, Soviet citizens could not shop in that store. I purchased many delightful items in that store including beautiful hand painted boxes and wonderful hand carved wood plates and other items. I thoroughly enjoyed how nice the people were to us during our 1978 trip, and the beauty of the people along with the beauty of the countryside was elegant.

Amazing!
Those who are interested in the history of the buildings shown here can read the Wikipedia articles "Moscow Gostiny Dvor" and "GUM".

In the states we keep our homes around 70-76 degrees. In the extreme cold do people there keep their temperatures lower or the same?
Russia uses central heating system to produce warmth for all residential units. Some of units have isolated heating systems, but mostly like an exclusion, so basically all the buildings you can see are connected to central heating system. Which keeps your apartment +25 +28 C degrees inside no matter what is the weather outside. Same for cities above polar circle - in the apartment people have +22C the lowest. Central heating system is off if temperature outside is +8 or hotter since more than 1-2 weeks.
@@t.v.7886
So just a little warmer than our average. I always wondered about that, thanks for sharing. It might be different if our temperature dropped as low. We have some areas that have central heating like New York City. But they are not common, considering the population of NYC.

Sony ZV-1 mark II - no flicker from lamp light. 100%
Thanks, Iam filming this on my phone, but i am sure there is a setting somewhere i can change from 4k 30 to 4k 50. :))
The discrepancy between the frame rate of the video and the frequency of the power supply to the lighting creates a flickering effect.

russell the greenest city in the world is Vienna
Interesting, thanks. I wasn't 100% which one it was.
No, it’s Moscow
But Vienna is greenest in Western Europe
@t.v.7886 moscow doesn't make it in first 10 , but if you want it's 1st
@@armandogavare2853funny, these "ratings" are pure shit. All depends on those who makes it. For example, i just googled and found rating with London as top1 green city whioe Vienna is top3 here
Question is, who was rating. Obviously if its this western rating agencies the surely they can even tell you that Chicago is the safest city in the world, or New York metro is the cleanest in the world.

@nastasia.dobrova Stress free? Oh please.... Life was hard. It's not like having a garden just for pleasure. It's actually hard work if you need to live from what grows in your garden.

I want to visit Russia but I’m black and I heard they don’t do well with black people well modern Russia don’t
Dude, they lied to you big time and as always, western countries trying to ruin Russia. There are more than 40.000 African students in Russian universities. Go into youtube and google African students in Russia and get first hand information from their blogs. And please, stop watching CNN, BBC, Skynews, DW, Telegraph.
You're correct.
@@littleowlbooks8514 😔 I still love Russia and it’s people and it’s aviation and ground design a lada in good condition is a very expensive classic
That isn’t true, most Russians (especially in big cities) welcome foreigners including black people as long as they are respectful. Of course there are racists and nationalists, but the majority aren’t like that
I would be surprised if the russia we know today even still exists in 20 years
I am sure the romans said the same thing.

Once again Russell, you are showing us the rich capital city in Russia, while there are millions of Pensioners starving all over the various provinces because their government feels no shame giving Pensioners only $300/month income. Shame, shame, shame. To treats your parents and grand parents like that.
Lie. I have a salary of $350 at the current rate. My wife does not work, she has been sitting at home with 2 children for 5 years. During these 5 years I bought a car, closed the mortgage. And we live 1500km from Moscow. So $300 in the US is not equal to $300 in Russia.
Что вы несёте? У вас бред? . Я пенсионерка. Не голодаю.
Where pensioners are starving?
Complete nonsense, in Russia its own production and the ruble is used. Only a few percent of Russians think about the dollar exchange rate, you can shove your dollars where far away.
