Awesome job with the floating foam . I've used the honey method " but" in a 5 gallon bucket " your method is soooo much better" when I used the bucket " all of the roots got tangled & mangled together " I will use your method next time" Thanks so very much for the info share"
With those delicate water roots, I'd consider planting out by 'puddling' as used for leek seedlings. Use a dibber to press a hole a few inches deep. Drop the rooted stem in. Instead of firming in with soil, pour in water to fill up the hole. Fine silt will settle around the roots giving a gentle anchoring into which the roots can get established. The hole will eventually collapse in on itself. A tremendous method for leek seedlings, where you would make quite a deep hole into which the stem base can expand as they grow. It's also a fast planting method.
I think that is mostly what we have seen here. There was no firming just covering, and then water was added so the soil particles can settle around the roots.

I congratulate you on your work, but I would like to ask a couple of questions: 1. How should I prune with scissors? 2. Can this type of work be done with all trees or only with grapevine cuttings? Thank you.
An even easier and cheaper way to do it is to take a handful of prunings and stick them into a 2-3 gallon pot of potting soil, keep it cool and moist for a month and 95 percent will root. I have about 40 varieites of grapes I've started that way from prunings from other gardens.

just watching you plant the rooting vines. I have grape vines 3 ft apart and they produce poorly. I was told on another video the roots need 6-8 ft of separation. I am going to correct mine once dormant.
Try incorporating soil health principles in your planting and you will see huge results. 1. Keep armour on the soil (mulch, leaf litter, green manure) it will improve water infiltration and retention, reduce erosion, protect the soil from too much heat or cold fluctuation, and feed the soil organisms. 2. Reduce disturbance including tillage (digging or turning over soil), chemicals, fertilizers, fungicides and herbicides. 3. Increase diversity in plants 4. It not to late to take Cuttings this summer. I just took some today. They have been in just water for about 6 hours and are looking great. No wilting at all. I am gonna bring them out of the water and dip into some rooting hormones just because I have some. They will root without it though. I use soft wood for this type of cloning might do some hardwood cuts after I see how these do.
Thank you for your video. Can the cuttings that are floating on the polystyrene in the water be kept completely in doors, or does it need to be in the sun for the buds to grow?
If indoor too long, then the leaves will burn in the sun after moving outdoors. It is best to grow outdoors in partial shades first, then full sun after transplanting to soil.
Looks like spring growth... Will this work at any time of the year? Need leaves? Or will bare branches work... It's late summer now, and I want to prepare for NEXT spring... Anything in the water besides honey? How often do you change the water... What are you cutting off with the scissors...
someone said its possible anytime, others that its best when they are in dormancy (sleeping in winter?) but i dont know though i suspect its best to change water often
Have just taken cuttings and stuck them in plain tap and rain water. Most of them rooted. Did that with figs, basil, cabbage bottoms, onion bottoms, celery bottoms, potatoes, sweet potatoes, garlic, peppermint, Rosemary and many other herbs. The herbs worked best very early in spring.

If indoor too long, then the leaves will burn in the sun after moving outdoors. It is best to grow outdoors in partial shades first, then full sun after transplanting to soil.
Bagus. Maju terus. Sukses.

I added honey to the water. Honey is a natural root growth stimulant. Peace, health and good luck to you!

Depends on the weather and ground conditions.
If it's dry it won't work.
This is a great option to be sure they root.
Just curious..Where in the country and what time of year?

In fact, you are a great artist, working with us now in Germany. The weather has become cold. My question is, is it possible at this time to succeed indoors, or does it have to be in the spring?👍👍

Thanks for the comment. I usually start rooting grape cuttings in April and planting them in May. You can still do this in closed rooms, but at the same time it is necessary to provide temperature and additional lighting.
@@myamazinghomestead9774 I started at Jenuary It seems It will work but slover than spring time . I put aquarium heater inside water . almost two weeks past just started bud groving

Glad you liked my video.
I start rooting grape cuttings in April. I plant in the ground in May. I plant in a permanent place in October-November.
If you plan to germinate the cuttings now, then this requires additional lighting, and of course, the appropriate temperature. Health and good luck to you!

I appreciate your comment and viewing my channel. The container contained river water. The water was changed once a week.
