The main idea of a grand funk railroad live show was to have fun, to enjoy and have a party, a great party, when a band has this state of mind, you can be sure to get the best
I saw them twice 98 once in Texas and long island at Westbury music fair, they were great so much energy. I met met back and still all 3 autographs and a drum stick.
We saw them during that tour at the Landmark Theater in Syracuse. Truly the greatest concert I've been to, and I've seen a lot!

Walk like a man was fantastic ! I saw the reunion tour twice , at the Orpheum in Boston and at the Casino Ballroom in New Hampshire , Even at 50 they put on a great show .

Gotta love it... I uploaded most ALL of this footage onto Dimeadozen about a decade ago, I called it GFR Video Anthology... the live footage from 1998 where they do "Rock n Roll Soul" is my personal footage I shot at the San Mateo County Fair. - a FUN watch again!
I was at that same show you were. I had seen GFR three other times, but, this 1998 version of GFR was the best ever. They were much more precise and refined...and their vocals were the best I've ever heard. Then...they split up again. I was shocked as they could have sold out "everywhere."
@@sunking2001 Mark Farner had let the other guys know that he was only going to do it for a couple of years, and then go back to his solo career. I guess they didn't want to lose the momentum...I think we all know what happened after that!
Saw the 1996 pre tour show at the York fair grounds in York,Pa. one of the best concerts i ever attended........

My very first G.F.R. album was the live one they have been my #1 fave ever since i started playing guitar because of Marky even joined a tribute band for a while .....good old homegrown rock @ its best...
It is too bad the sound quality is so bad, this would have been an amazing last concert on video of the REAL Grand Funk!!
🗣I can't believe not one person recorded any of these concerts with a good recorder...sad, very sad cause they will never perform together ever again on the same stage.

On the Crook and Chase Interview Don looks like he gets aggravated when Mark starts talking over him.
Don and the others must have been plotting this screwjob way ahead of time. Before the tour started IMO. They figured they'd get Mark comfortable, and then draw him in with the contract to sign. Completely blindsiding him, acting like friends to him. He would never have suspected that they would do such a slimy thing. That's what I think happened.
Too bad you didn't add the Tonight Show appearance in 1998.
