    "So, how was your powder day?"
    "Meh. Very dense, over-baked, cheesecake."
    😂😂 Damn it, Malcolm.

    Great channel, great content, love your snowboarding technique content. You had hell of a day :) One advise from my side ( 10 years of skitouring experience, last 4 years on snowboard/splitboard), if you are riding even around resort with avalanche backpack please strap it proper, chest strap, leg loop, unstrapped handle. Wind-faced slopes can be also dangerous, that cheesecake pressed by wind snow can slide easily on lover layers :) All the best and billions of bluebird powdays :)

    Ahh avalanche training 101. Thank you for being responsible to your viewers who might just be beginners and not know about these things. Take an avalanche course everyone who is thinking of going into areas that are not maintained by the resort!! And if you did your training already; make sure you retake the course every 3-4 years to refresh your knowledge ✌

    • @malcolmmoore

    Hey Malcolm, I bought the same board last season to skip the resorts and explore around. I agree with you, it's not a super fun board to ride but decent non the less. I got a good deal on it and it works well for having something to tour up the mountain with when you feel like it. It's worth mention that compared to others although heavy, it's really solid and seems very durable, don't have to worry about delaminating any time soon. Also the touring part of it works very well with the Burton tourist bindings. I would say it's a good choice for the price for someone who wants to have the option of touring some times, not for an "splitboarder" per se.

    • @malcolmmoore
      @malcolmmoore  2 роки тому +1

      Exactly, it is reliable and does the job, although this season I hope not to have to do any splitboarding and that the lifts will open up!

    Hey Malcolm. Just recently found your channel as soon as I saw the first couple of videos you got my subscription.
    Have you ever experience a step-on or step-in bindings? The ones from the German clew.de seem promising but I would like a more frequent rider opinion on these types of bindings.

    • @malcolmmoore
      @malcolmmoore  3 роки тому

      I have never tried them myself, its just such a commitment with getting the binding interface too. I know the Burton ones are meant to be great, but I hadn't heard of that brand before, I'll take a look. Cheers for the sub!

    Guess you're not sponsored by Burton.... Will have to get a split-board at some point, but sounds as if Burton is off the list. Thanks for yet another great video with weird and wonderful facts about snow. Want to pay you back with a fun fact; The Sami, the Scandinavian indigenous people have some 200-300 words for snow/snow conditions. You must be getting monster fit from all this hiking!

    • @malcolmmoore
      @malcolmmoore  3 роки тому

      Thanks man, nah I'm not sponsored by burton although I do use their boots and just bought their bindings! Nothing really wrong with the board just a little dull, and great fact cheers! I actually thought it was 91 words for snow, hence the name of the old burton video, 91 words for snow!

    • @dagreynolds8013
      @dagreynolds8013 3 роки тому

      @@malcolmmoore I thought that too, but wanted to check before posting here. Apparently the 91 words is an urban myth (that I taught my kids) about the Inuit. The Sami on the other hand.. They have been living in the artic for at least 14.000 years. Pretty tough folks..
