I've used one for 4 years. 90% of the time it's great. If you have 1 bar you can text , 2 bars you are off to the races. You must have at least 1 bar to work. Under strange conditions you can unexpectedly get a signal with no bars. I love and use it constantly on the trail. Once again, YOU MUST have some signal to use effectively.
This has made up my mind. Thank you for the wonderful video. This looks like exactly what I'm looking for. I mostly want it for on road where signal gets so weak that I have to tell people I'm speaking with to hold on until I'm through the bad areas. This looks like it'll fix that for me. Thank you.
Jay, thank you for a very clear and rational explanation of this device. You show wisdom, which is rare in this age. That is exactly the type of use I want. I need to keep contact for any changes with my aging father in a nursing home but I still need to get out of town for mental health reasons. Getting a ping for a message but not being able to send a response is frustrating. Then it is back to driving around for a signal as you said. Thank you.
Oh man! I just spent a year and a half travelling off grid in places like that with just a little signal. I really wish I had one of those then! I drove around all over the bush until I found spots with cell service, and then it would always be so weak. I can't believe how much time I spent waiting for downloads and uploads that sometimes didn't even finish - I could've had it so much better 😭🤣 I never even thought to see if that was available!
$299.00 @ Canadian Tire here, might get one and try it out . If it doesn’t work I could seek it to some one ina fringe zone. By the way I believe you 👍🏽
I wouldn’t have to go far to try it out. Despite being very close to a small city I have somewhere between “sos” and one bar of LTE at my house at any given time. So we live on wifi calling via our ISP. There are pockets of lousy cellular service in many places. I could see having something like this around the house for when my cable service is down and communicating via cell phone is difficult or impossible.
Yes, you can and I did it even a few minutes ago when it was raining. If you can get it outside of the car though it just works better since you just have all that metal shielding around you. The higher up the better as well.

Good review, helpful for a future decision.
How is your awning working out? Still like it?

Hi there and thanks for the video. Will this help with trying to connect to weak Wi-Fi signals?

Can I keep the antenna into the car,and to take good results?

Mine only works with my old Samsung. Anyone know if I have to switch something on my new Samsung to get it working?
I wonder if a phone case would effect its ability 🤔
?
