I was at this. I remember the cameras and for years wondered if it would turn up online. You can see me right at the front in the centre. Black hair. I'm grinning at Charlie Harper when he comes on. I sold a zine to him earlier this night in the other bar. Napalm Death played this night too, there's footage of that too, Lee Dorrian shared it on Facebook. I saw NR in Oxford on this tour too, bought a nice green on purple t shirt from them. Long gone.
I called the number on the back of the jettison album and left a message about a year later Jeff called me back we talked on the phone for a few hours about music and stuff he was really genuinely appreciative of all people who are touched by their music
No shit!! That's great. I've a lot of punk albums and 7"s from the ,80s and 90s and I've wondered about the postal addresses that're in some of them. Do the residents of these houses still get mail addressed to Mr Puke Punk?

Yep, I'm 57, from Chicago and grew up with in my formative hardcore years from 1981, seeing them 1st time in 82-83. Them, the Effigies, Articles of Faith, Rights of the Accused, Big Black was the greatest period of Chicago hardcore. Great times. Ironically Bill Steven's who's NR guitarist was our guitarist in Product 19 a hardcoreband I started out in then I left for the Army and a few.yrs later Bill joined NR after Haggerty left the band. Cool times, scary it's coming on 40 yrs.
All-stars all the way. Never got to see them , but had the pleasure of seeing Pegboy in '97 at a small club when I first moved to Portland, OR (pre-national shame). Got to speak to Haggerty post-show. He wasn't sure of how they'd they afford gas to their next gig or where they'd be living when they got home. In my opinion, they should all be living in solid gold houses. Amazing musicians and great guys.
Awesome band and very good audio quality on this video. Thanks a lot. There’s a gofundme campaign for Naked Raygun’s bass player Pierre Kezdy cancer treatment. Hopefully many fans can help him on this battle.
At 45:32 I can be seen at the front pointing to the side of the stage to Charlie Harper, who obviously needed to, was about to, get on stage and sing his band's song. I sold him a copy of 'Tripping Yarns' in the other room earlier that evening. I see someone else doing the same thing 10 seconds later.
RIP Pierre 🖤 4 Jan 1962 - 9 Oct 2020 🖤
Endless thanks to the uploader because this may be the best live video of the band in their absolute prime...Greatest Chicago band of all.
For sure. I saw them in '79 when they were still N. Commandos and later at the Exit w/ the Effigies and Bloodsport :)

Soldiers requiem is one of the best punk rock songs ever
So true
Couldn’t disagree with that...

Haggerty’s tone is unbeatable. Hiwatt forever!
Only 17, this band changed my life. Wearing one of their tee’s rn. One of the greatest bands ever.

Just superb. RIP Pierre. This music defined my formative years and still sounds sublime.

That guitar tone is insane.
Haggerty is a beast. That tone is unmistakable....

Awesome. Thanks for posting. Brings back good memories. Jeez I'm old!
Wow! The sound and video are surprisingly great quality for a live performance from 1988. So good! Glad this is here to see!
...and i'm still mixing bands to this day , well not just now coz of u know what.
Greatest band to ever do it. RIP Pierre
Was a great gig.
I think Naked Raygun was probably the most cerebral of their kind.
(…and they were really smart, too!)
Checking this out today because Dave Grohl mentioned them in his new autobiography.
Good God almighty this is just fucking so awesome. I saw them in Cambridge MA at TT the bears in an even smaller space ....just great.
thank you for posting this, holy crap!!!! what an amazing concert
Chicago Raygun shows ruled....Raygun bucks!!!!
only caught them once when they toured the uk in 1989 and now we have new songs 30 years on mad
Absolutely killer, thanks for the upload!!
Still remember seeing them at the Riviera. Not Rebecca was the opener. Also lucky to catch a Metro show a few decades later.
I was 5 months old at the time. 35 years at the time of commenting, and my main regret is not being born sooner.
Great band
the most alternative band
Pure gold, thanks for this.
Like someone else mentioned, NR in their absolute prime.
i was there! ace gig!
Holy fk! I was there.
This is gold!

Still my favorite punk band.
Briljant.........
Does anyone know what amp and strings Pierre is using I know he’s using a g3 but that’s all I can tell of his rig
Wish I could have seen the original line up.
radness
I took part in the 'whoah oh oh oh oh oh!' at 43:40
I wish I could get into this Chicago scene more... it's ok but these bands don't really have memorable songs at all...

RIP Pierre
