While the coffee talk mostly goes over my head, your lighting and overall visuals are upping with every video macha excited to see where this channel is headed
I have the same grinder, JX pro. The metal while thick but very soft. My fell from the countertop height onto the tile floor and bent. There was a small flat spot in the top rim. The plastic attached to the handle interfered with the part that was bent. Being such a soft material, it was easy to bend back into a round shape using some pliers and is working fine again. I am happy with the grinder overall and does more than my skill level or palette can appreciate.
Glad you could easily mend your grinder Bob! No denying the fact that it's very heavy though, the crank accidentally knocked one of my servers and broke it haha! Definitely an excellent quality grinder for the price and so far I've not reached its limits as far as my taste goes either! Thanks for your comment👍
Nice video! In the future, I think that the background audio is a little loud when you're speaking which makes it hard to listen to what you're saying.
Hi Maria can I know why you're looking to upgrade? JX pro can do both filter and espresso well. Jmax can also do filter but it's great at espresso, lot more fine adjustment available. I would go for that if I'm planning to brew more espresso. I had a C2 for a long time and the only reason I upgraded was to be able to brew espresso better. My dad still uses my old C2 and it works great for filter.
Hello , Do you like the 1Zpresso better than conventional coffee grinders at budget ? I too am planning to venture into espresso after using moka pots for quite sometime now . Planning to get a hand grinder with a flair pro espresso maker . Do you suggest hand grinders better than budget machines in India?
Hi Swarup, thanks for your comment. Manual espresso is a very interesting space right now. Simple answer is a budget hand grinder available in India will leave you wanting for more very soon. The level of adjustments available are limited and quality of the hardware itself is not enough in long run. I would suggest a minimum of Timemore C3 to start. As far as 1zpresso is concerned I have the JXpro. I like it for espresso because of all the adjustments. But I don't like the weight, short crank arm and price. It serves me well since I'm mostly brewing filter and sometimes espresso. If you're largely focussed on espresso then an electric burr grinder like a baratza would be more lucrative at this price. I hope that helps, do reach out if I can help
@@DistilledStills That's an interesting thought Pradeep. I'm not keen on electric ones on budget as they either don't produce even grinds or last long . So a much more prudent decision is to consider a premium hand grinder which can match the grind size of a Niche or equal ones in electric. Combining that with a flair i hope im set for 5-10 years of brewing at least.
Yes, in that case you'll be covered and there are many options in 1zpresso as well as timemore and others which are espresso focussed. All the best with your hunt! Hope you find the perfect combo 👍
Im thinking about buying this to replace my cheap hand grinder. Would you say it's better than an entry level electric grinder for the same price (150 usd)?
Hey Gabriel, if you're after better quality grinds then hand grinders definitely deliver better at lower price ranges compared to electric ones. Go for it!
Hi Ram, I bought the scale on Amazon UK site. I'm not sure of they have retailers in your region but Hero coffee is good at arranging shipping from Phollipines if you message them on Instagram. www.herocoffee.asia/

I am going to follow your lead for filter grind - I was doing 3.5
Cheers mate, try coarser and slowly make it finer until you find your sweet spot!
Nice video!

Thanks for your comment Nick. Advice like yours will be very helpful in long run, much appreciated!
I agree, but by far the best quality Chanel under 1000 subscribers Ive ever run across.
Thanks Tyler, I appreciate the encouragement 😊
