This is another great example of how good the music was in this time period. These long-haired mountain boys were good. Very creative and tight.. A darn good band! Fun music with good sprirt. AND they were fun....
Tight, indeed ! All these 70s bands sounded AMAZING live. In fact, the records were just a recording of what they already were doing live; not something patched together in ProTools by a producer, today.
RIP Steve Cash. I was fortunate enough to share the same stage as him at festivals several times and he was always super nice to us "young-uns"... This is an awesome song - I will never cease to smile when I hear it come on the radio! I think you got to heaven there buddy!

I saw them in Houston many years ago. They put on a great show. I was surprised they didnt become as well-known as some of the other bands of their time. They certainly were as good as at lot of them who were better known.
Seen Head East for $2.00 in Centralia, Illinois at the Teen Center 52 years ago. "Supe" gave us a ride to the the Venice Cafe. He was gonna sit in with the Garbonzo Band. Supe was sitting in with Bill Davis of Dash Rip Rock at the B.O.B.
My second all-time favorite band, second only to the Dead. These guys very nicely straddled the line between pure hard rockin' and soulful country/folk rock. Other bands occasionally exceeded them (e.g. Pure Prairie League's Amie) but absolutely nobody delivered as well and as consistently as OMD. This particular song I hear almost every day as it's part of my iTunes shower rotation.
You don't have any awareness of, or respect for, the originals who came before - and they're right in front of you! People like you are exactly why older people think young people are stupid.
I believe there may be a silver lining if the world don't get blowed up for young people of all ages and Sexes to understand the Melodies of the 60s and 70s and how they changed the pop culture back then? There is plenty of opportunity to understand and create
When you learn about old-school country and blues music, you can really hear where the harmonica and guitar and honky tonk piano came from. Add drums, plug in the guitar and bass, and you’ve got this glorious Southern Rock !
Hey Daredevils….I wonder if you knew my grandpa, Kirk Hawkins. He was the mayor of Nixa in the 60s and early 70s. I also heard from family members that someone in the band dated my mom, Kathy Hawkins. I’d love to find out if that’s true or not. And whether or not you knew any of my family, I’m sure you guys have some Buff Lamb stories!

Same Man, I'm 20, though. But I live in Missouri, and the Ozarks, too, and they formed the band super super close where i live. And there a awesome band. They sure don't make good music like this anymore. I'm "oldschool" but I'm gonna get a harmonica soon to learn just this specific song. I love it that much. I'm a guitar player. And still want to be. Thats my main thing is guitar. But I do want to learn how to play the harmonica just for this song. 😂😅
I had this track on a "Southern Country Rock" compilation cassette tape I bought at Walmart back in the early 90s. I liked this song. I'm going to explore their other discography now here on UA-cam. The band members they all look like daredevils!
Most people today have no idea of how great the music was in the 60’s and 70’s ✌🏽
true but who care's? I don't need to impress someone who thinks rhianna is old school and can't go 5 minutes without consulting the phone.
Atta Boy.
You are so right. When you hear some of the music today. It makes a person realize just how great the music from the 60s and 70s. Was and still is.
The golden era of music.
I remind people all the time that they are listening to music that is 50 years old...
As a 243 year old teenage 👽,we love the Ozarks Mountain Daredevils

Note the audience is clapping in time and enjoying the music. Not a phone in sight. That’s how you enjoy live music!
No fireworks, no smoke machines, no leaping around. Just music.

Man, what a song, truly a classic.
I first came across this song in GTA5, instantly loved it and it's remained a favourite since.
Living proof 70's music was the best.if I stepped on any toes, you shoulda been there
That harmonica player, (Steve Cash ?), the level of concentration on this tune is amazing.
Most southern song ever !!!Love this song also before GTA 5 ! I'd love to listen to this when cruising in a big Dodge pickup !! Oh yeah
Ozark mountain Boys are cool and know how to live 😎
GTA V has all the good music
Remembering music from the past 50+ years
I had the pleasure of seeing them at Billie Bob's in Fort Worth. Excellent show
This song is still one of my all time favorites. I still listen to it.
Completely awesome!

Definitely makes your feet want to move! Love it!
How humble can ya get, them thankin us for listenin. I'll be thankin ya'll for a lifetime of magic. Thank you
I never read it in a book, I never saw it on a show
But I heard it in the alley on a weird radio
If you want a drink of water, you got to get it from a well
If you want to get to Heaven, you got to raise a little hell
I never felt it in my feet, I've never felt it in my soul
But I heard it the alley, now it's in my rock and roll
If you want to know a secret, you got to promise not to tell
If you want to get to Heaven, you got to raise a little hell
I never thought it'd be so easy, I never thought it'd be so fun
But I heard it in the alley, now I've got it on the run
If you want to see an angel, you got to find it where it fell
If you want to get to Heaven, you got to raise a little hell
If you want to get to Heaven
If you want to get to Heaven
If you want to get to Heaven
If you want to get to Heaven
