Amazing performance of a supremely powerful and deeply moving work. When I first started to listen to classical music as a teenager I used to find Messiaen's music tough and intimidating. Now, after several years I'm able to enjoy his music and appreciate it's awesomeness.
Really fine playing from the Brass in that tough (on the chops) 1st movement, talk about knocking the crap out of the 1st Trumpet at the start of the piece, great section playing in the Trumpets.

This Interpretation of this incredible composition of Light , clarity ,Pathos is AMAZING...Indeed Messiaen who was the Organist in Notre Dame for many years was and IS an Inspiration for those who believe or not in a higher being...Majestic and Grand...wonderful intensity...excellent and beautiful playing and Mr. Wollf understands the magic of this masterpiece😊

An deeply expressive work which dates from the first period of the composer and must be listened as such.
I prefer to listen to it as if it was from the middle period. More lively spiritual. Not so dry academic
