I would love to see the return of the satin finished Tributes (Les Paul and SG). They are great instruments and relatively affordable. They look good and feel great. Not that the new Epiphones aren’t nice. There’s just something special about an American made Gibson, though.
Ultra light aged is like paying for a service that I like to do myself over time, bend a guitar to my own ware and tare. I don't get it! Plus they charge you a ton of cash for something that's really fun to do. Its the best part of having a new guitar, breaking it in!
very nice guitar with nice sound but I don't like artificially aged guitars. look at the artificially oxidized neck pickup, how sad. I always prefer gloss finish and nitrocellulose perfume
@@niklasdefries There is one thing noone would deny, the beauty of the each Gibson guitars... Sometimes not reachable though... :D When you are in a country like mine, the prices are not like in U.S. or E.U. Sadly.
Too bad these guitars are priced out of reach of most players. For my part, a guitar should earn its character. IMO, relicking is the worst thing to happen to the guitar industry since nylon nuts and ceramic pickups.
same as expensive cars are priced out or homes etc... That's how things have always been . There are plenty of lower priced Gibsons that are great guitars, so why complain about these Custom Shop? They aren't for you.
@@sixslinger9951 You don't understand what this has done to the guitar market. I've been trading in rare and antique instruments for over 34 years, now. When I got into this business, a player could purchase a Gibson instrument with the reasonable expectation that if the instrument was taken care of and maintained, the player could get their money back one day. This is no longer the case. Why? Two reasons: 1) there's too many of them. The market is saturated with Gibson CS instruments; and 2) a player can shell out thousands for a high end CS guitar just to find out that someone else can buy the exact, same guitar anywhere else. Even the relicking is identical. Now, to bring all of this home for you, look up your favorite CS model and take note of its retail price. Now, go find that same guitar used and see what its used price is. These instruments struggle to sell for half of their retail price on the used market. This was never the case with Gibson. This is what it looks like when a bubble forms in the market. Now, can you guess what will happen when that bubble bursts? And no, this is not how things have always been. If you were over 40, son, you'd know the language I'm talking.
very great playing. well. sounds great. well done, sir.
Thank you kindly!

Do you guys just love worming up the back playing with jackets that have big rivets on them?
Any damages increases guitars value, the more relic more value.
Its a tool...not a pair of Nikes you dont want to crease. Relax.
The finish won't be hurt from those rivets just touching the back.
You put cups on a mahogany table as well - takes a lot of pressure to make dents.

Too twangy
I'm not a huge fan of the 490 series, unless it's in drop D or C
