She always says that ppl like to paint her as the “bad guy”, but the things is that she has been made a “bad guy” several times and by several different ppl and usually there claims are consistent and similar. So what I think is that she has all also pissed off a lot of music industry and Hollywood industry and because the way she is coming across it’s easy to throw a block against Nicki. And I think her brand took a hit and is hurting from all the feuds, so over all I think the audience has been put off by Nicki and where once ppl would by quick to stream and buy her music now ppl are slower and some even hesitant to get her music. I mean you kinda have to like the person whose voice is on the music. Likable celebrities tend to be more successful and sell much more. I mean Ellen degeneres is an extreme example but Nicki is going thru something Similar. I also think the audience wants variety in the female category and the industry realize that female rappers can be superstars. I also don’t think that Miley or billy ray have that kinda pull, first they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Jodha as far as Grammys there are icons that have only 1 Grammy or none at all, I believe it took Madonna like 25 years into her career to get a Grammy. And as far as sales, I think it’s several factors that are playing into it, I think a major part is that her brand is tarnished. Since the Lil Kim feud, Nicki has been consistently in beef and really hasn’t been about female unity and empowerment and Nicki has only recently done songs with other female rappers and through the years there had been a few scattered around. Also when several females rappers spoke out about Nicki’s behavior and demands behind the scenes. She always says that ppl like to paint her as the “bad guy”, but the things is that she has been made a “bad guy” several times and by several different ppl and usually there claims are consistent and similar. So what I think is that she has all also pissed off a lot of music industry and Hollywood industry and because the way she is coming across it’s easy to throw a block against Nicki. And I think her brand took a hit and is hurting from all the feuds, so over all I think the audience has been put off by Nicki and where once ppl would by quick to stream and buy her music now ppl are slower and some even hesitant to get her music. I mean you kinda have to like the person whose voice is on the music. Likable celebrities tend to be more successful and sell much more. I mean Ellen degeneres is an extreme example but Nicki is going thru something Similar. I also think the audience wants variety in the female category and the industry realize that female rappers can be superstars. I also don’t think that Miley or billy ray have that kinda pull, first they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Nicki is a superstar in her own right and can even be thought of asa bigger star the Miley. Besides the amount of money Nicki generated, her talent and the support from her fan base are too big to be black balled. I think what Nicki and her barbz need to realize is that she was wrong with some of her behavior and take ownership and go on PR rounds. I think she needs to do more than just talk, since she has been known to try to stop other female rappers from winning awards, getting invites to show and performances and even stopping they bags. I think she needs get a label and get a few females artists or groups. They need to be super talented and mentored by Nicki perhaps do a combo album in the same veins as jay-z and Kanye, diddy and biggie fat joe and big pun or Dre And snoop, 50 and eminen. She should also film a tour documentary and show camaraderie between her and her artist. I think that’ll help heal her image, Nicki doesn’t need any help in the music dept cuz she does her thang on the mic!
Personally I like Nicki’s music but after seeing and hearing her constantly beef with other female and even some males. But I also think she is the most talented out of all the current roster of female rappers.
