Something about watching your videos makes my day brighter. This one was especially enjoyable to watch. Your mom said things to you that my mom used to say. Made me tear up a bit. I loved all the milk glass you showed. That was something both mom and I liked to look for. My mom passed away September 26th. It will be two years this coming September and still feels like yesterday. No illness, no warning....just short of breath, passed out and was gone.

I like to go shopping by myself, because I cannot stand people rushing me, and with a nasty attitude. Honestly, this kind of people will bring out the worst of me.
Maria Mendoza I agree. Gets me annoyed just thinking about it. I had a friend who will say "don't worry take your time. I will go sit in the car." Ughh! So annoying! And so much pressure
Your husband is so patient and seems to not even mind going thrifting, you are lucky!

Omg I love you. We are so much a like. If you are ever in RI, we have to go thrifting. We have savers and salvation army's. wish there was a goodwill. One day I'd like to go to a salvage yard with my tool and my wagon. lol . I love treasure hunting , resale, and repurposing/ reviving, etc

I'm such a thrift store junkie and the thrift store gods always manage to make my day. I always shop alone because I dig under everything looking for vintage cookware.

I love that your mom is so honest with you. She just puts it out there...if she thinks you don’t NEED something or a style is not you. I soooo miss having my mom and sister to shop with. They were always honest with me, too. Enjoy every opportunity!
OMG MOM IS SO CUTE. I'm only like 20 seconds in though so let's see how she behaves.
She got a little sassy later on, but I didn't include that in the video...
I'll thrift with my grown daughters sometimes. We part ways at the door and will see each other as we shop, but don't generally stay together. No one pressures the others to a time limit. When we're done, we'll just wait somewhere beyond the checkout for the others. Works well.
Lol! That would be soo nice! My mom and husband get bored with it quickly!
Having a chair and a cell phone at the front entrance of the store comes in handy for spouses and friends. I've on occasion have used them when shopping with two marathon shoppers I know. If my husband gets done with his shopping earlier than me, he knows he can leave his items with me and go on to the other shops in the strip mall or go out to the car to read his current book he brought with him just for that purpose. He knows I won't be long as Arthur is close by and he will check on me via phone. He's sweet that way.

I scanned the other comments so I hope I'm not being repetitive, the round green bowl after Chicken Limbo is a nice piece of Depression glass (as best as I can tell) called Ballerina.

The white scalloped bowl with the clear is actually Fenton! Worth about $25! The bumpy ones are hobnail milk glass Fenton! WOW And that first green etched bowl was also Fenton and worth about $40!
I liked the cape. and it reminds me of shopping at a thrift store with my mom. she always asks what i'll do with whatever I pick out.

I love Salvation Army. I just left some donations there and picked up a brand new rose pink fleece zippered hoodie for fifty cents and a new cat dish for 50 cents. I only buy what I need, and only if it's dirt cheap and mostly new! They were having a sale on sweatshirts, sweaters, coats, and housewares.
It's great! I usually try to bring a bag to donate when I go thrifting!

Kieren, your mom was definitely reigning you in on your spending!! LOL😛 I can't believe how clean everything was. The Goodwill closest to me has gotten so lazy. I picked up a pie plate and it had years of grease and dirt on it! I miss the Salvation Army.They closed the one near here several years ago. Thanks for the fun! hugs
She keeps me in check! Sometimes I find things that aren't the cleanest, but I just give them a good scrubbing when I get home.
My sister and I always take my mom with us when we go thrifting! She keeps us in check about how much we spend

The white dish was not an ashtray but actually a Fenton Glass collectible dish. Fenton is HIGHLY sought after. Sooooo envious.

Hi. Thanks for sharing your video. It's fun to watch with you and it's so nice to see how happy that you are. You filmed so many pretty things. FYI: a) the glass bowl with the glass spoon is a mayonnaise set b) the milk glass hobnail small item is a toothpick holder (vs. egg cup) c) the white glass item with the ruffled edge is not an ashtray but a decorative item from what I could tell. Can't wait to see what else that you find.

The Salvation Army Store is my second favorite thrift shop where I live, only reason why it is second is because the church thrift shop always has sales going!

The clear glass bowl with the ladle at 13:38 is a bowl for nuts, particularly to be used at a party. The ladle is so people can get the nuts (or candy) out of the bowl without touching what is remaining so people do not have to eat what other people have touched. BTW, I used to love to go thrifting. Now I am pretty much totally disabled and am unable to walk and/or stay on my feet long enough to do any serious shopping. The stores where I could spend three hours (and NEVER wanted anyone to go with me) were used book stores! With the exception of book stores, when I went thrifting I very seldom bought anything so it isn't a whole lot different for me to merely watch you shop. Thanks for brightening the day for an old lady.

listen to your mum,she was right about cape.i look for clothes by label/style,natural fabrics-wool,cotton,silk and cashmere.I also like vintage.Learn brand names and look for things you can resell at auction.Quality always.

Always a joy to shop with you from a distance. I could happily have thrifty outings all day every day though admit it's more tiring the older I get. My sister and I both like thrifting but never got to introduce it to our Mum as by the time we enjoyed it regularly she was downsizing. Does your Mum like to collect anything? Mine liked ornament elephants. At nearly 60 I'm still accumulating treasures ;) I love rainbow things too. I think teachers are naturally attracted to anything colourful, so popular with children. Adore the little red piano box! I have collected miniature pianos since I was a teenager and have about a hundred. A few years ago some were displayed in a city museum for year. Thankyou for another fun and relaxing video :)
